  1. I've always really liked it. Oakwood used to my home park (I lived in Pembroke), so used to go a lot. Megafobia has always been a really good coaster in my book - not a great one mind you, as there are definately better out there, but I can't say I've ever had a 'bad' ride on it. I've always had it in my own 'top 10' coasters, as I always look forward to riding it, and am never disappointed.

    Vegas

We also bought the Vegas Power Pass when we went in June. Went on Manhatten Express, Speed and Canyon Blaster, plus the whole of the Adventuredome, the NASCAR simulators at the Sahara, plus a whole load of other stuff. Not bad value, so long as you are going to be able to get around all the attraction that the passes include. We did, so we were happy.
  3. Brean Leisure Park in Somerset, UK sold their Crazy Mouse spinning wild mouse coaster in 2004, then bought it back for the 2006 season. Now they've sold it again, but has been replaced by another spinning mouse coaster! No idea who had it in between though, or where it's gone now!
  4. When we went to SFMM back in June 2005, it took us just over 2 hours to drive back to Harbour Blvd, that was leaving SFMM around 5:30pm. And from what I remember, I-5 doesn't have a HOV lane anyway.
  5. I use 1and1 in the UK to host our website (www.alanandmyfanw.co.uk). For what we want it for, which isn't really that much I guess, they provide a good service and I've never had a problem with them. Personally I don't care about any site creation tools they provide as I prefer to write my own every now and again when I fancy a change!
  6. I'm a computer software engineer. Mainly doing design & spec work, along with integration and testing work, on bespoke system for several major UK companies and agencies. I've worked on software projects for a retail systems, defence systems, medical systems, and currently working on a set of software interfaces for a UK police force. Pretty cool job really, pays well and it's doing stuff I've always enjoyed doing.
  7. We've got a Sony 40W2000, and it's great. We've only used it with non-HD stuff so far, and think it's great just for that, so I can't wait to get Sky HD and (eventually) a PS3 to try it properly. We got ours from John Lewis, as they give you a 5 year guarantee for free, and when we bought it (just checked, they still have to offer) we also got a Sony HDD/DVD recorder unit for free, and free delivery. We actually got 12% off the price as my wife works for them, but even without the discount, it comes within your £1500 budget. Definately recommended!
  8. We did almost exactly the same 2 years ago for our honeymoon, except we went in June instead. I think it took us close to 2 hours to get from Anaheim to SFMM. It seemed to take forever to get as far as Burbank/Glendale, but after that it was pretty easy going all the way to SFMM. It was just as bad going back to the hotel in the evening though, if not worse. For Universal, again if it's on a weekday you probably want to allow at least an hour and 30 minutes to get there. The 101 was just so slow all the way, we thought we'd never make it there! Compare that to a Sunday though, and it was so much quieter. If you want to 'do Hollywood', park in the underground multi-storey car park at Hollywood And Highland. I seem to remember you get free parking for 4 hours there if you buy something in one of their shops or do the Starline tour. Have a great time! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in a suite overlooking their huge glass atrium, which was great. They had a free shuttle bus to Disney, but that was often really busy so be prepared to wait a bit for the shuttle bus if your hotel provides one.
  9. So far for me: 28th/29th Apr: Alton Towers 12th May: Chessington WoA 13th May: Thorpe Park 5th June: Six Flags America 6th June: Kings Dominion 7th/8th June: Hersheypark 10th June: Coney Island ... and definately still to come ... 10th/11th/12th/13th Sept: Disneyland Paris Not very big compared to some, but never mind.
  10. Great pics so far James. Klotten looks like a really cool park to visit.
  11. I used to play golf about 10 years ago, but haven't played since before I went to University. Mini-golf is always good fun though
  12. We are definately going to be in Disneyland Paris around mid-September. I may even pay a visit to Coney Beach in south Wales sometime before then for a ride on the 'Mega Blitz' coaster they have there
  13. Thanks for the opinions folks. Looks like it'll either be Rock 'n' Roller Coaster or Space Mountain at the moment. I am tempted by making Crush's Coaster the 100th though, like some of you have said, just because it won't be anything like most peoples 100th
  14. Mmmm, so many good pies over here I think my favourite has to be a good Steak & Ale pie, closely followed by Chicken & Mushroom pies. Mind you, I'm not picky, and would quite happily eat any pie.
  15. I've been to: - Florida - New York - Pennsylvania - DC - Virginia - Maryland - New Jersey - North Carolina - South Carolina - Maine (not for very long, just while the plane refuelled) - California - Hawaii
  16. I would, if it wasn't for the fact that it'll be about 3000 miles west of where I'll be
  17. Are you powering the camera on and off while it is trying to write to the SD card? I had that same problem a couple of times with my Canon IXUS and the some cheap Viking Interworks CF cards. I switched to Kingston Elite Pro CF cards, and have been careful about when I switch it on and off, and haven't had the problem since.
  18. lol. I do count most powered coasters (eh, why not!), but I doubt I'd even ride Casey Jr
  19. Right, so as you can probably see from the counter in my signature, I've currently ridden 95 coasters. We're off to Disneyland Paris in September, and as that has five coasters, and I won't have the chance to ride any other coasters before then, it looks like one of the DLP coasters will be my 100th. So, the question is, which one? The choices are: - Big Thunder Mountain - Space Mountain - Indiana Jones et le Temple du Perile - Rock 'n Roller coaster - Crush's Coaster I'm tempted to make Rock 'n' Roller coaster my 100th. I loved the Disneyworld version, so hopefully this one won't disapoint either. Any other thoughts? Which would you pick?
  20. So far, I've been to the following: UK (Wales, England and Scotland) Austria Spain Tunisia USA (New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Viriginia, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, California, Hawaii) ... and we'll be going to France in September.
  21. This is my current car, a 2007 Audi A3 S-Line. Bought it new at the start of the year:
  22. Well for me I guess it has to be my 'home' park, Oakwood in south-west Wales, UK. I guess it isn't 'that' small anymore, but I've been going to it since it opened when it was so uncommercialised, had just one (small) coaster etc. I still love the park for its 'small' feel. I've just gotta go back soon to ride Speed
  23. About time as well. I thought this would have been taken down at the end of 2000, so I'm quite glad they've finally decided to take it down. I never really liked it, didn't think it fitted in either, so for me it's definately a good thing that it'll be going.
  24. The last beer I drank was a glass of Hoegaarden in a French restraunt called Pigalle in Manhattan. Don't think I've had any beer since I've been back, only JD and Southern Comfort.
