  1. Not necessarily. I took part in a commercial shoot for Behemoth after it was operational. They just made us arrive at 5:00AM!
  2. I'll be at the park on Thursday (first trip of the year). Will try to grab some shots then, if possible.
  3. How did I manage to overlook this? I must have been asleep when 'Taron' was announced. Just getting up to speed on this coaster now and it looks fantastic.
  4. I work in PR and Marketing as well. Marketing Activation is a term I am familiar with.
  5. I have no doubt that Cannibal will be sensational and worth the wait. As long as it's open by the time I arrive in mid-August I'll be happy.
  6. ^ I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to say the "Dark Years" part gave me a good laugh. I too had a run during the Paramount reign during which I completely stopped going to the park. So pleased to have put those days behind us.
  7. It's been quite a long time (weeks!) since we had a Cannibal update. The anticipation is killing me. Anyone know anything?
  8. Perhaps my neck just breaks more easily than yours does.
  9. So in love with the full-out breakneck speed it attacks the course. I'm actually surprised that some of those quick change-ups are even possible at that speed. RMC continue to set the bar higher each time out.
  10. At one time Ghoster Coaster at CW would have had my vote. As a teenager in the mid-80's it was smooth, surprisingly fast and had 3 or 4 pops of ejector air. My friends and I used to marathon it when Hanna-Barbera Land started clearing out for the night. Unfortunately time (and maintenance) have not been kind to it. These days my vote would be for Sooperdooperlooper.
  11. Pessimism is fuel for your negative reality. “All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” - Buddha In my universe Twisted Colossus will haul a$$ for decades.
  12. The new Screampunk District is looking fantastic. That area so desperately needed a coat of paint. So damn pleased to see they've gone far beyond that and really put some consideration and effort into it. A well-thought aesthetic adds so much to a park experience for me.
  13. Sleaford Mods - Tied Up In Nottz
  14. The first train drop video got me crazy excited. The 4 pages of responses it inspired was fascinating. By far the highlight for me was:
  15. I was thinking the same thing. "Why build one when you can have two at twice the price?" The Machine
  16. The Mechanica shirt isn't as "Metal" as i'd hoped for. Hopefully they'll have a wider selection to choose from by then.
  17. Canada's Wonderland on Thursday May 14th. It's a tradition for me to visit CW on the first operating, non-Friday weekday of the year. Having the entire park pretty much to myself for an entire day is how I like to start the season.
  18. Not only are your yearly Knoebel's opening days trip reports appreciated, they're also the reason I finally got off my butt and made the journey to this wonderful park. Thank you for another great report.
  19. Yes! It's finally time for me to make a first visit to Holiday World a priority.
  20. Halestorm - Sick Individual
  21. Thanks for the excellent media day report. If I had it all to do over again I would have been a fire dancer.
  22. I visited Orlando this past February and negotiated the same onsite vs. offsite debate during my trip planning. Keeping in mind I too had to contend with that same "weak Canadian dollar" budget that you now face. After much debate I eventually chose to stay onsite at USO (Cabana Bay) and WDW (Yacht Club) with a single day car rental to BGT. There's a National/Alamo rental kiosk at the Dolphin Resort (next to Yacht Club) and single day car rentals in Florida are dramatically less expensive than elsewhere. Looking back it was the right decision. Sure it was a little more expensive from the outset, but I balanced it out in other ways (making my own lunch and eating in my room as often as possible saved me boatloads of money). In the end, you just cannot beat staying onsite. Waking up a few steps from Epcot is one of the greatest theme park vacation feelings I've ever had.
  23. CW is my home park and I've always felt that Leviathan and Behemoth each offer different experiences. That said, of the two I much prefer Behemoth. To say it was "left in the dust" is greatly overstating Leviathan's impact on the GP. They're both hugely popular with the crowds and they both have their fans. Parks build coasters to attract park attendees, plain and simple. With coaster enthusiasts and those that notice element similarities and differentiate manufacturers being such a very small minority, I really don't think having two out and back style B&M's of varying heights in one park even registers with the overwhelming majority. Certainly not enough to make it a viable marketing device.
  24. I intend to visit the theatre completely optimistic and truly hoping for the best. Yes, the original is a mighty act to follow, but I really want this to be great. And wow, took me a moment to clue in that was Chevy Chase in the photo. Time has certainly taken it's toll.
  25. Loved reading your report. It brought back some great memories of my trip in 2011. Especially the rain at Dreamworld. Same thing happened to us! I didn't make it to Perth when I was in Australia though. Next time.
