  1. Wouldn't the "first drop" for some of the coasters you guys mentioned technically be the drop out of the station or the post lift pre drop .
  2. That's not padding, that's mechanism. Note the open holes to place the padding. The train has been gutted and refurbished.
  3. To chime in on TT-gate. Pete said at, a coaster event, That it was to be a longer layout but due to budgets it was shorten. It was, allegedly, to make a left turn after the iron butterfly but made a right instead.
  4. The track isn't finished from the station to the first drop. They barely have track on the lift. Do you have prooof of that? Granted I can't prove it's finished from station to drop either, but I cant disprove it either. . . We're gonna leave it at that .
  5. The track isn't finished from the station to the first drop. They barely have track on the lift.
  6. I wonder what prompted them to focus the cam to hurler? Maybe some signing on the dotted lines?
  7. Is it me or does the turn around not go 90 degrees like the one at funspot?
  8. Yeah, cause they can really ruin a nice photo . . .

  10. This topic was brought up a short while ago. Here are some of the response . . . That's interesting & I believe it's true for some enthusiasts, but it isn't how my mind works. To me, coasters and parks (well, good parks), put me in a zen-like state of total relaxation. Riding and even just watching a good coaster is a work of art. I feel like some people can recognize it as art, and others just don't ("that's for kids!"). I love the ebbs and flows of a coaster layout because it's a physical/sensory kind of storytelling that you put your whole self through, physically and emotionally. At the same time, the sights, sounds, and experience of being at a park just melt away my daily stress, and frankly it's like my version of going to church -- I know it's simply spiritually good for me to ride coasters and go to parks. It recharges my batteries and loosens me up. In the course of being an enthusiast, sure, I've learned a lot about how coasters work, but I'm not motivated by the premise of how things works. For others, I can see that being the case, though. There are many paths up that mountain that have brought us here!
  11. Well, there was this concept some time ago . . .
  12. Another one bites the dust . . .
  13. Not bagging on the experience, but the capacity on these things are terrible. Sea World San Diego gets a high volume of visitors. I feel like they could have done better. I was at SFDK and we never bothered to ride theirs because the line was well over an hour, compared to the 30 minute line the Joker had. They get around the same amount as busch gardens in VA. It shouldn't be that bad.

  15. Coaster enthusiasts? Nah I kinda, not really, hate to bring this back up but why is this the case with a lot of us? I know at least 70% of enthusiasts I have encountered have been kinda "different" in the way that when it comes to things other than coasters they kinda don't know how to blend in. I have met some cool coaster folks who actually do things other than coasters but they are rare.
  16. Is it me but are the vertical ledgers in place on the two turns?
  17. Ok ok . . . talk about a delay! Moving right along to dorney! First stop, this life saver . . . The perk of being a pass member here is the early water park entry. The entrance to this park has always been nice and welcoming. One of the older slides in the water park. See, the water park seems to be the main draw to Dorney park. If you aren't there early, it will be a long day for you. The locker room also doubles are support for talon. I don't know if my "boy's were lose due to the warmness but these racing slides did a number to my jewels. I have been on several others but these were the first to literally burst my balls. These slides look familiar? Wild Water kingdom has an assortment of classic slides and new ones. And good views of the main park. . . The #MoneyShot I'm a fan of theme park tank tops. Needless to say I had to add this one to my collection. Ok lets ride some coasters! I think talon is a pretty solid inverted coaster. It makes a great front gate statement and is strangely quiet. It's nice to see this ride still around seeing parks seem to be getting rid of them. I was advised to head to this as the lines can build up. After taking the train I headed to Hydra. I dunno, I just wish it was "more". It is an ok ride, just wish more happen. Anyone else feel like that? After hearing the talk about the flume I figured I had to do it. Surprisingly it was no wait . . . It was decent. Didn't see what all the fuss was about but it was was fun none the least. Nice to see a classic still around. Decided to take advantage of my dining plan and got some bbq. After sitting around and some other rides, checked out the newly refurbed wooden coaster! I wonder how wild of a ride it could have been without the trim. oh well. I will be back with more pictures from Knoebels!
  18. Or forgotten about stand up coasters . . .
  19. Exactly how much of the track has been deconstructed?
  20. Who votes in these things? I should pay more attention.
  21. Well . . . it is a pretty solid ride. What coaster should have gotten it?
  22. I have a friend who was there today and said it was jackhammering. Mind you, it's his first time there. So it may be smoother than before but still not that great.
  23. Quick question . . . If ghost riders line is to the entrance, what's the typical wait time at that point?
