Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I may be in the minority but if I cant put it in my cargo pockets, I don't bring it to the park. Half the time I don't even bring my phone in. I'm there to have fun, escape the outside world. If I need to haul a lot of stuff in the park with me then I just don't go? -
I think if it does I would LMAO at how some of the universal "fans" (as with any park super "fans" to be honest) are so adamant about what is going on and how they have uber inside knowledge on what is going on. I, personally, have felt like it belonged in a new park or IOA with its fantasy theme. I like the fact that universal is still kinda based on cities. I have seen a Tokyo idea floating around the web. That sounds cool.

I was thinking the other day, with Six Flags over Georgia going the Carowinds route of making the park more state specific are they losing what they were essentially built up on . . . the six flags that ruled the area at some point? What would be the significance of the 6 flags if they are now not being represented in the park? Could it been just as easy to created ride names that fit the current themes?

I was at the Winter Warm Up event and during the construction tour, park president Dale Kaetzel said not to expect any significant changes from the announcement render like extra elements or such. If I'm recalling what he said correctly, the additional length is from more minute layout adjustments by RMC as the project was being fabricated. From what I heard from the PR guy is that the layout did NOT change. They figured the length by counting the pieces of track. Each track piece is 40ft so they just figured the length told initially was wrong and going by the calculated length based on the track pieces.

I think because it may go through vortex it will need some time to do some extensive work to vortex and actually construct it in a timely fashion as its virtually in the middle of the park? And is it me or is it the same color as the mean streak and hurler make overs? -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
jarmor replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, Scarowinds crowds are typically people who don't go to the park during the day. Winterfest crowds are the same families that would be at the park during normal hours. If I had to pick, based on bang for my buck, I would opt out of night time at the park for winterfest as it would seem redundant to do both in one night. I say just open at normal times in the day and close rides are the temp drops. -

That's great to hear! I'm sure we'll get there in the next year or so to check this thing out. It looks like a great little ride, it definitely has a "Wooden Warrior" vibe and we loved that thing. Note - He's saying you're okay to go because at least you have a female with you! As a parent, I think I'd still be creeped out a bit seeing some single male dude wandering around riding rides at Sesame Place. Oops . . .
