This is the first time I cant wait to try a restaurant at the resort. I saw the pork belly sliders topped with chocolate bacon . . . almost licked the screen!

I wonder if they are doing away with the early entry before 6ish due to offering the 2pm ticket offering. That has helped me get in the park, grab some food and head down to the lower lot.

That speculation also stemmed from a new article about when cedar fair went to the tax people for the incentives and pitched the 300 plus foot coaster similar to what cedar point had just done with gatekeeper. Turns out they were referring to the fact that it was an "gate" coaster and it did end up being a giga. There is no sorts of this going for kings dominion. Its getting really sad how some people are really trying with their all their might to FORCE a RMC hurler to happen. I feel this year shows that Cedar fair, as a chain, realizes their parks are good in the coaster department. I was personally shocked any coasters were announced as it seems the chain is going for a more "back to basics" approach and fixing things from inside out (infrastructure, environment of the parks, experience . . .etc). When the coasters do come, its gonna gonna be an ever better thing.

Ok . . . while i'm not a local I think i'm gonna pass and just rest up at the hotel in preparation for HHN that night.

I am thinking really hard. Do I really want to pay for the after 2 ticket? Is it really worth it for me as I have done the potter stuff in fla. Is the tram worth the additional 40.00 dollars?

While I agree that the common thread is Snoopy and that was a giveaway as to the content of the announcement... ...You don't think that a picture of Snoopy "snooping" around the site of a closed roller coaster points to an announcement about what they plan to do with that roller coaster? Especially when they've already made comments in the media about "our plan is to reopen it for the 2017 season" and yet they have not yet made any followup about that? And in a recent video they talked about green track versus red track, etc., fanning the flames even more. Obviously this is not a promise or a guarantee. But in my book that's clearly misleading. Not to me . . .

It appears no huge investments this year. Wonder how that will effect next years capital.

i rode it the day it opened. it was a disappointment from day one. the video of Mike Myers telling you how the coaster restraints work was probably the best part, and that is really saying something. the layout is boring and not fun. and Paramount didn't take care of it, which only made things worse. part of the reason the layout is so weird is because originally they were going to have rock bands play concerts on a stage in the wide open area between the lift hill and the back turnaround. obviously that never came to pass, but the coaster's dumb layout was designed to accommodate that idea. You do realize the Hurler clones are mirrored images of Thunder Run at Kentucky Kingdom, right? The coaster wasn't designed to have a stage in the middle of the big turnaround, that's how the original clone was.

HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW . . . did KD overhype anything? Lets take a step out of our little bubble people and realize, The only ones who overhyped anyhing is OURSELVES! It kills me, when the park doesn't get what WE want them to get then everything they did was overhyped. Again, you all hyped YOURSELVES up. As someone said, they are using snoopy so it was probably gonna be something for kids. You guys dismissed that with the quickness because it was too logical of thinking and not what the one (coaster)track mind-ers wanted. I guess this is what happens to a park when the local government denies tax breaks and incentives. lol

You all have to realize it's a new cedar fair. The old cedar fair cut down virtually any tree hiding a ride. The new cedar fair is against that. I mean look at mystic timbers.

Double post, sorry . . . With a lot of Cedar Fair parks announcing their 2017 capital expansions it seems the chain is being more conservative and investing more in the experience vs multiple coasters. It also seems they are realizing that investing in water parks are the way to go. I wonder if the coaster era of parks of yesterday are gone and the focus has been reshifted to other things?

It seems all the original county fair rides are staying put . . .

It would be cool if they used the different "sections" to feature chrimas in that country/continent.

Still . . . They announced it on their on. Regardless if we knew because someone went looking for it. Kd announced hurler was gonna be down for extensive renovation earlier. I personally feel it's not like six flags when every park announces on the same day. Some parks picked a day when summer is winding down and attention is shifting from the parks. I know Carowinds generally does Thursdays so it can be fresh news on Friday and thru the weekend. Is every cedar fair park. minus kd and the ones who have made their announcement, announcing today?

I think there is a holding area so you're not kicked out. I remember they have early entry and I have used it several times.

This park has bad ops? I can only account from my one visit but the ride ops I encountered were really nice and helpful. Some told me to to use the flash pass entrance since I was a single rider and I even had one ride op on the water coaster find a group of people for me to ride with since I was alone. I felt that was going above and beyond.

Here's the thing. If you are nice about it, its a chance you can get your wish. you're going on a thursday. Are you going alone? If you get there early and go to fury, chances are it wont really be a line as I think schools start back this week across the south (some are still out but a good bit go back).

Perhaps . . . Square dancing!
