  1. But, there are five rides the ride scavengers found for Carowinds next year while in Europe. If the park is only hinting at four, then maybe they’re not opening all five next year. Maybe the fifth ride will be constructed for the 2018 season? I wonder which ride it will be that Carowinds isn't announcing until 2018? My guess would be that one of them required a bit more refurbishment than the other 4. It's a little confusing. Carowinds wen on record, earlier this year, about getting the rides. So that wouldn't be a secret. Some are saying its 4 more than what they have already stated. Some of the rides have been on site since the beginning of the year.
  2. Well, I went a few weeks ago and the park closed down due to the rain/storm.
  3. There's no area for it to do that. Most of it is held up by supports. As far as the "rendering" shows. Do you think they would actually make things that obvious?
  4. It could drop and come back up . . .
  5. Well, they are known to be thieves of the industry. Ask Arrow . . .
  6. I almost forgot, RMC mean streak for CP
  7. And how are two out of three of those rides holding up? I don't get it, and its probably a good thing, Why cant the park add a coaster like this? I guess im just optimistic and welcomes all new coaster additions. I feel this coaster will be unique to the park as there are no twister wooden coasters in their line up. Hershey park has virtually 3 of the same wooden twister coasters and no one bats an eye. Holiday has virtually all wooden coasters and they get praises out the cahoots . So why is kings islands bashed for adding what appears to be a solid wooden coaster to their line up? I think we need to stop thinking the parks are in some coaster war and are always looking to break or set records. We gotta start looking at things with a more realistic view and realize those days are no longer here and parks realized that having a solid line up to the park (be it rides, shows, attractions) is what FAMILIES want.
  8. Here it is. Link So 2 down 12 more to go . . .
  9. Where is the life cycle of a new coaster post when you need it . . .
  10. You're 15 so we understand. You're 14 so we understand. Yes, because assuming that the only reason people might be disappointed in a new roller coaster's layout is because they're teenagers is so mature. Well, its the culmination of the reason I personally feel for younger people to be disappointed. At that age I wanted "bigger faster" but as I got older I learned that some of the best coasters I would consider the best, would have not been considered the best when I was their age. At that age, its kinda hard to appreciate some coasters that that age group takes for granted.
  11. If that rendering is correct, then there is no way the surprise is a drop track, since the shed is one story, starting at the level of the track. The rendering may not be correct, though. I think verboltens drop track is like 15 ft? I still think its possible.
  12. You're 15 so we understand. You're 14 so we understand. I don't think they will give it all away like that in a rendering.
  13. The same way a wooden coaster traverses over the transfer track is the same way it will traverse onto and off of the drop track section. I see that, but a transfer track shifts side to side. This has to have a pretty substantial structure dropping. Not near as simple as say Verbolten...... Actually, it is pretty as simple as Verbolten. See, with wooden coasters, they can have steel structures. Just remove the tubular track and added the wooden track adn same thing. Of course, they wouldn't do it with a wooden structure, as most wooden coasters have steel structured transfer tracks. It's really not as difficult as you are making it out to be.

  15. Yea man! If the Krampus rumors are true, this is gonna be a GREAT year.
  16. Probably because their teaser campaign has been placing particular emphasis on the number four, combined with the possibility that plans have changed since that headline? I am willing to bet the 4 more thing is really the park tying in the expansion of the county fair with 4 more rides. I could see the yo yo being replaced and placing one of the rides in the former mini golf location as there seems to be some action over there. My predictions . . . Cedar Point: Soak City Expansion with tornado style slide. Im thinking something like carolina harbor. Kings Island: GCI Woodie Canada's Wonderland: Water park slides Knott's: Soak City Expansion Worlds of Fun: condor and troika Dorney Park: A flat or two. Kings Dominion: GCI Hurler upgrade Carowinds: County fair make over/ 5 vintage flat rides (break dance, music express, wave swinger, troika and top scan) CGA: Water park slides Valleyfair: triotech dark ride Michigans Adventure: whats that???
  17. You probably should check the headlines in the Carowinds park thread banner. It's old news by now, but they're getting refurbished carnival rides from Europe. Was announced a while ago to newspapers but not from the park to the public but we all know it's coming. You mean the headline that says 5 classic flats ??? Now, back to my original question . . . Why is everyone saying 4 flats for Carowinds?
  18. why is everyone saying 4 flats for Carowinds?
  19. I think what can save holy land is a "walk on water" Wing walker coaster! Picture it, add seats like on acrophobia and and the stand up coasters . . . have it launch over the lake . . . and low to the water straight sections with bunny hops!
  20. So, they are keeping the hollywood area and expanding behing the tower for marvel?
  21. And wanting flats? I dont see Universal adding flats other what is currently there unless its really hidden or inside.
  22. People get excited about rides, people get excited about coasters, people get excited about water slides. Regardless of fury, not everyone likes or ride coasters. Getting 5 rides is a huge, big deal. Especially at one time. That is almost doubling the current ride line up. I say tease the hell out of it, make a big deal out of it because it is a big deal. This is geared at families. The bread and butter of theme and amusement parks. I, for one, love when parks tease. If it weren't for teasers these boards would be pretty dead
