  1. First, congrats on getting married... Second, as a Pittsburgher, I must say that you will not be dissapointed by Kennywood. It has 3 classic woodies (Jack Rabbit, Racer, and Thunderbolt), a hyper coaster (Phantom's Revenge), an indoor spinning mouse coaster (The Exterminator), and if you're a credit whore, our kiddie coaster (Lil' Phantom). So that adds up to 6 credits and by the way, we're getting a new Screamin' Swing for 2006 and you'll be able to ride this thing with no additional cost to the park's admission, so feel free to ride Kennywood's awesome flat rides. You should have no problems conquering Kennywood in a day.
  2. Hmm $15 for parking, that costs as much as Kennywood's 6pm-11pm pass! I guess I'll have to consider parking as a big part of my costs for my trip this summer.
  3. It's an impressive looking coaster, but I only need to say one thing, I need to ride more wooden coasters. I think I need a trip to the Wisconsin Dells someday...
  4. I'm just going to wait to see how it really is. The Partriot looks like it's fun and I hope it will be.
  5. I would want to do it on a coaster that's famous for records "The Coney Island Cyclone"
  6. I think you would be looking at nother Flashback (aka SBNO attraction) :?
  7. Oh that's just lovely! Seriously, I'm glad Hershey takes time and money to refurbish their beloved attractions like most parks should be doing. My family is trying to figure out if we should visit BGW, Cedar Point, or Hershey Park this summer. We've been to each park atleast once and this is our choice this summer. However I'm looking at doing a senior trip to Florida, So Cal, or Wisconsin Dells
  8. I've only been to BGW, but I must say that it's really impressive in terms of scenery. However, I hope they consider adding a nice woodie in the future. I believe a wooden coaster would fit in nicely there.
  9. I second that, I waited like an hour and 45 minutes for Mantis and felt that it wasn't worth it. Fun, yet rough... :?
  10. Kennywood's, Phantom's Revenge trains are by far the best IMO. They are so comfortable and awesome looking....
  11. This is big news around here since Geauga Lake is one of Kennywood's major competitors. I personally liked most of the rides at Geauga Lake and was really hoping for major improvements, but it's a tough business. It's going to suck if the park does get the "Astroworld" treatment. Buyers for Geauga Lake anyone... please.
  12. Yea it's weird, here at Kennywood, they added magnetic braking to our Jack Rabbit rollercoaster. God knows why because the Racer and Thunderbolt still use the skid brakes.
  13. Wow, as I was watching this, I began to think about the movie "Rollercoaster" and the very beginning when the coaster train flys off the track. That's what I was expecting when those 3 cars went rocketing around that one highly banked turn. That's some freaky shit.
  14. Golfing can be an expensive hobby. Then again, so is visiting amusement parks, so I guess it really doesn't matter for me because one way or another, I'm loosing money! :?
  15. My favorite is the Kennywood Racer. You can't beat slapping your hands with the other train.
  16. That is a shame since he really did not look that old. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
  17. Awesome show guys, I can't get enough of it. Btw; I could have sworn that the Steel Phantom was the first coaster ever to break 80 mph. What do you think Katie?
  18. Um I think it's powered because I see a blue wheel assembly on the front of the car in this pic, but I don't see it in this one. It looks like it resembles those wheel assemblies that lift the rear of Boomerang type coasters
  19. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm sort of burned out from playing coaster games for awhile.
  20. Hmmm, that all sounds very interesting Robb. I'm wondering about the No Limits challenge because I'm not sure if there are enough No Limits builders on this site. I can probably think of 3 right now (including me), but I think we should conduct a poll and see how many people actualy play No Limits. As for your questions about No Limits... ".nltrack" is the default file extension, but if a person is adding things like custom car textures, scenery, etc. Then the file extension would be ".nlpack". Well I would say that you should not allow people to make their own scenery because alot of people don't know how. Plus, for those like me who know how to make scenery, it would just take alot longer to do. Other than that, it's up to you because the difference of a B&M Hyper and a giant wooden coaster like my Hollow Horseman can be big. I'm not saying you should prohibit wooden coasters because I happen to be a wooden coaster junkie myself, but it may be something to consider. I'm not quite sure what you are asking because if you are talking about "After Market Mods" and then they don't exist! If you are talking about updates from the official website and then I think you mean the latest update (version 1.55). Then again you might be thinking about Gravimetric Studios and tools like their Coaster Calculator, Construction Kit, Elementary, Tunnel Maker, etc. I personally don't use any of the tools the site provides, except for the Track Packager because I need it to include scenery in my track files. But it's up to you Robb... Well No Limits is probably one of the best, if not the best roller coaster simulation out there. Everybody who wants to view the coasters needs the full version and latest version to view the coasters, so demo versions won't cut it. As for ratings, it really varies between each person. You know how it is because a smooth track freak might take off a crap load of points for a few jerks and quirks on a wooden coaster, but for a person who really appreciates a wooden coaster's "roughness" and then they won't take off points, yet in some cases, they might take points off for it being too smooth. I recommend that you "snoop" around http://www.coastersims.com and check out their rating system. It seems to work the best for everyone, so I think it's a good system. They basically rate the No Limits coasters using 3 catorgories: Building Technique Adrenaline Originality All three catorgories can be rated between 0 and 10 each and the final rating will be the average rating calculated from the 3 catorgories. So it's up to you Robb, if you want to use that system or maybe come up with your own. I hope this contest works out.
  21. ^ Well Electric Park is just a scenario and the only structure I made for the scenario is the bridge and entrance. Ofcourse I played with the scenario myself and I got the following result. my version of Electric Park The Flying Turns The Dips
  22. I decided to start making scenarios for some strange reason and I thought this would be a cool one to start off with. This scenario dates back to the late 1800s and early 1900s when electricity became a novelty. Enjoy making your own Electric Park and so we're clear. This park was really derived from the now defunct, Electric Park that was located in Baltimore. Electric Park.zip download a view of the "lit" up bridge
  23. It's really funny stuff, but I'm just suprised that ARN&R nevered jumped on my ass during my early Westcoaster years.
  24. I really wanted to go to my first PPP, but I wanted to attend my last high school homecomming aswell. It was worth it, Pictures.
  25. I understand what you're saying Robb and the "Track Tennis" idea does sound pretty cool. I just thought it would also be cool to do a "modest" version of my proposal from before. I have some screen shots to show you guys. I thought about just having the zone made out where the new coaster should be built. Obviously the zone is marked by the white fence I made and the idea was to have this empty track file sent to everyone and have them build a coaster within the zone without destroying any trees and whatnot. I dropped that whole pricing system because it's going to get way too difficult. Perhaps if I made these Empty track files to look like real parks (IE:Rides, midways, kiosks, etc.) and then the idea could look better. Just trying to help... another view an overview of the construction zone the permanent starting station
