TPR's North East USA Tour Official Report!
A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I completely forgot that GCI came in and worked on Boulder Dash. I wish more parks up in forests and on hillsides would take advantage of the terrain for their coasters. It seems a lot of the enthusiast community's favorite coasters are terrain ones, like Lisebergbanan, Boulder Dash, and the late Eagle's Fortress. -
The first time I rode Expedition Everest I lost my vision completely in the outdoor helix before the Yeti's last appearance. After I rode it more and more I got used to it and didn't suffer as much. I think it had more to do with the roughness of the ride, because the Gs didn't feel too intense (3.5-ish?). I am a walking stick though. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

Most Overrated coaster?

Thirteen at Alton Towers. All other arguments are invalid. -

I would love to see more "compact" wooden coasters come out of The Gravity Group/M&V. -
The only thing I don't like about the 3DS Master Quest is that the world is mirrored. Some of the puzzles are insanely annoying, but that's what makes it challenging.

Once again - confirming what we already know. Suddenly, I'm caring less and less about August 2 as we get more and more information about the ride. -

It certainly looks massive. Might not even be legal for trailer travel in the US. I completely forgot the old Dorney Park Laser was traveling again. I wonder why the trains were replaced. -
Meep meep! Left-hand drive or right-hand drive?

I knew a [censored]ing price cut was around the corner. It was only a matter of time. They just aren't selling enough 3DSs, or Wiis for that matter. It's probably not feasible, but Wii-U should have been ready for sale a few weeks after its showcase at E3. It's going to be behind before it ever gets released now. On a side note, I've noticed that there's no consistency within Nintendo's Lineup. I originally thought that the Wii and DS Lite were supposed to represent the design direction of Nintendo systems to come, but then they released the (IMO) ugly matte DSi and the (again IMO) too angular and misshapen 3DS.

Sure, most of the films Pixar Animation Studios have produced have been absolutely fantastic (Wall-E is my all time favorite film ... IN THE WORLD), but let's not forget what the bottom line goal is - earn as much green (and other multicolored) stuff as possible. I bet that they made Cars 2 because they knew they could turn an outrageous profit on it - not necessarily on the film itself, but the merchandise surrounding it. I'm looking forward to Brave coming around next year, because it's a film that hasn't been spun off from a previous franchise.

The Isetta Bubble Car looks freaking awesome. I want to find one somewhere so I can see how difficult it would be for me to fit in it.

Those trains on TestStrecke don't look like Schwarzkopf trains. Do you have any photos close-up of the trains? -

Save. Save. Save. SAVE. SAVE. SAVE. SAAAAAAAAAAVE. Sorry, I have no sympathy, it happens to the best of us, but you need to SAVE YOUR GAME OFTEN. -
If someone could post up the new Track of the Week, it would be fantastic. I'm on the road most of the afternoon today.

Delete that last custom scenery group you just installed, and try it again. If that worked, the custom scenery is at fault. If it didn't, I'd suggest making a backup and re-installing your game. -

Okay, so, I'm looking for a great roadway/highway CS set. I have the Strassenset 4 (the one with all the pieces in it), DasMatze's Covers & More, and DasMatze's Bridge It. Is there a great set with road pieces that I'm missing? I feel as though I either A) am missing a set or B) don't know how to use the sets I have. -

I'll probably shut up after this - Getting a NewElement accolade doesn't mean anything. Winning a TPR Game Exchange Contest doesn't mean anything (but a Bag of Crap is nice). Winning [insert RCT-related award here] doesn't mean anything. NewElement is dedicated to RCT2. Theme Park Review is dedicated to Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, and Donkeys, and has a little RCT/NoLimits sprinkled on top. It's not worth a huge debate. I could very well make an account over there and submit a park. I could very well get an accolade. Sure, that's a cool pat on the back, but it won't get me anywhere. That's why I play the games for fun, and that's why I like showcasing my stuff here more.
