  1. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=59875&start=30 Really? Did he just say "it's another factor in realistic park building"? Why is it so difficult to include the names in a [censored]ing readme file? I love it how 14- and 15- year olds are teaching us about park building. Why does it matter how many rides from certain companies are put in a park? I could create an entire park based on Vekoma attractions if I wanted to! I have much more better things to do than decide what company should put a fictional roller coaster in a fictional park. When a design comes to me, I put it in, without any regard to who would make it. It's a little thing called ORIGINALITY. I'm sorry, I'm running on fumes. I have a physics final today.
  2. I love it how they still use the concept art for Flight of Fear's picture.
  3. Hmmm - so that was YOUR Saturn Ion that went in the bus parking lane, then? Great photos, Chuck. I knew staying at the Boardwalk all afternoon was a good idea. Everyone else takes super-awesome photos of the behind-the-scenes stuff, I get to be lazy, and it's like I'm right there.
  4. Just wanted to show everyone my piece of used Hersheypark history - And, yes, unlike the other 99.999999999994 percent of people with an non-photographed avatar, I do actually look like it. Huzzah! Sorry I'm squinty. It was very sunny during the times it wasn't pouring. EDIT - Maybe I should make a trip report. My buddies and I didn't get any "behind-the-scenes" photos, as we spent most of the afternoon being absolute children in the East Coast Waterworks, so it might not be worth it.
  5. Might be in the wrong forum, but that's sort of...out of...my jurisdiction. There's a fair use policy floating around somewhere in our governmental documents that says most material under copyright is free to use as long as it's not being used for personal gain (such as someone ripping audio tracks from the parks and selling a CD - that's illegal). A lot of videographers (that I've seen) that take walk-throughs/POVs of dark rides coordinated to music (such as Space Mountain) often play the ripped track over the actual footage of the ride, so that you can hear it and it isn't drowned out by wind noise. So, I would say - no, I don't think it's illegal unless you try and sell it as your own.
  6. Please do yourself a favor and get rid of the stupid (manufacturer - year) tags on the ends of your ride names. Put them in a readme file or something when you zip it up. They look extremely tacky in-game and I honestly have no idea why people put them in.
  7. Yes - they even continued to run them in the pouring rain on Sunday.
  8. You could probably afford to make the station for the Eurofighter four blocks long, and have short-radius turns, effectively gaining one row of spaces in the up-right direction. One less row of taken-up space really makes a ride look more compact. But I'm RCT2 hacking illiterate - I don't know if you're only able to run one train due to the merged track.
  9. Use custom scenery - search up "Belgabor's Invisible Doodads" on an RCT3 fan site and you should find them with little trouble. I believe Belgabor's set has invisible ride entrances/exits, an invisible path, and some others.
  10. No, fortunately I do not have video or photos from the man-boob contest. -shudder-
  11. Okay, so, the Pagani Hurahruh (Yes, I know it's spelled "Huayra") can't be sold in the US until 2015 at the earliest because it couldn't get an exemption for not having a "smart" passenger air bag. Click.
  12. Cedar Point opened Snoopy's present, and guess what was inside? Cookies, according to Screamscape.
  13. Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain are different during Halloweentime than normal operating days. Space Mountain gets a makeover and becomes Ghost Galaxy, for example. However, Pirates of the Caribbean is scheduled for rehab during your visit (It's closed 7 Sep through 23 Nov).
  14. Something we need to always keep tabs about is that we always have to edit the first post of the thread in two places - the post itself by adding a link to the current contest, and the description of the thread itself. R.D., I'm not finding fault, it's just when I read the description of the thread just now I thought we had extended the Schwarzkopf contest.
  15. I can match faces as well - I think Cody up there can confirm that I was absolutely manic the whole time I was on Thunder side, hopping from seat to seat, especially the last time when I sat in my usual front-left. Oh, and by the way, it gave me a chuckle when Robb said he preferred the Thunder side because it was a shorter walk. No shame there.
  16. I'd love to see you try and make Warrior in Newton2.
  17. Okay, so, I seriously enjoyed myself. ERT on Fahrenheit was really awesome - until I didn't keep my head forward through the corkscrews and I ended up on an EMS vehicle en route to First Aid then proceeded to be bed-ridden for an hour and a half due to motion sickness. I'd also like to thank the people at Hersheypark for giving me a hunchback for a few hours - I'd never have thought I'd procure a used running wheel for a log flume by showing Robb my wet pair of smelly socks. Thirteen times on Lightning Racer - eight on thunder, five on lightning. I don't care what anyone says, Thunder kicks [censored]. It was really cool that when we had full trains, the races were so close and really exciting. I'm really happy to have been one of the die-hards who made it the whole way.
  18. Out all day Sunday for East Coast Bash. It's the first thing I've done for myself in years.
  19. I don't want to waste too much hard drive space on my computer with the logo on different backgrounds, so I made the background transparent. This also lets me put it on any screenshot I'd like without it intruding. Here's a screenshot with the logo on it (work in progress, of course) - Those of you who have played through RCT2's "expert parks" scenarios will recognize the wooden coaster. I've taken the design, stretched it out to realistic proportions, and added my own touch of originality. As for the logo colors, the original colors I tried (solid ones) were very polarizing and hard on my eyes. So, I went with pastel ones.
  20. A little bit of logo action for my RCT2 park I'm actually working hard on. Like? Dislike? Want to set fire to? Keep in mind that it's meant for a white background.
  21. Meh, rain is a good thing. I remember the last time I went to Hersheypark, it rained all day. I got eight walk-on rides on Lightning Racer in a row, and they even had the middle six rows roped off. Now, a thunderstorm isn't good. But I'd be perfectly fine with rain.
  22. Like I was saying in another thread (Hersheypark? Cedar Point? I don't remember. Might have been too much chocolate milk last night), I don't think it's because of safety issues that Intamin puts their OTSRs on their non-inverting rides. The reason I think they put OTSRs on is because the seats need a tall backrest, and they've already developed a restraint system for their rides with tall backrests. Without a tall backrest, the backward acceleration from the lift and drop could do damage to a rider's back and neck. Intimidator 305 and Skyrush both have steep lifts and steeper drops.
  23. 160 middle-schoolers taking over a college dining hall and acting like they own the place. If YOU are reading this and you're in middle school - please make sure you know how to clean up after yourself after you're done eating. If you don't know how and you run into me, I may do something...not nice. Okaythanksbye.
  24. Ugh, now you've done it, you've made him launch into a fiery rant.
  25. So...what is the Boardwalk like on Sundays? Do crowds get lighter as it gets closer and closer to closing?
