  1. Wow, I had no idea Illinois and Maryland were that close Yeah, it's only a mere 11 hours away. But yeah I do agree that SFA needs a new coaster. They've done a good job cleaning the park up a bit and adding some rides in the past couple years, but they really need a coaster that will bring more people to the park, whether it's a new coaster from the factory, or an RMC conversion on Roar or Wild One (my vote goes to Roar). A few other parks that come to mind is Elitch Gardens, Kennywood, and Valleyfair.
  2. Any idea of what the crowds should be like on the last day for HOS, Nov 1st? I'm planning on making a trip somewhere and ride some coasters before the season ends. I plan to do some houses as well, if the crowds aren't bad.
  3. QFT! One of my favorite drops on any ride.
  4. "Stripsearch"-Faith No More
  5. I went last year on both Saturday and Sunday and I'll have to say Sunday was the best day to go. Everything was a one train wait to a walk on throughout the whole day. Saturday wasn't terrible but there were definitely lines for every ride, especially around night time. I'm planning on hitting up the park next coming Sunday for the last day of HPITD.
  6. Big Bad Wolf still remains as my favorite, but for the ones in operation, Loch Ness Monster gets my vote. Still wish I could've ridden Drachen Fire though. Tennessee Tornado is high up on my bucket list, hoping to ride that sometime next year.
  7. ^Agreed. Last time I rode Transylvania Express was ten years ago, such a great HOS attraction! Six Flags America used to do the same thing with their train ride, even since the Adventure World days but they no longer do that anymore. What a shame...
  8. Played the Star Wars Battlefront Beta on PS4 recently. I have to say it's the most fun I've had any FPS. I've always been a bug fan of the Battlefield series, so I'm definitely pre-ordering the game very soon. Also as a horror movie fan, I saw this and I'm super stoked! Hopefully this game won't let me down.
  9. ^If you get there at opening, you should have no problem riding everything more than once, especially if it's a Sunday. Tip: Hit up Volcano first! ^^I remember seeing somewhere that the trains were removed, along with the chain lift. But yeah the actual ride itself is still in one piece. They'll probably start dismantling it once the season is over.
  10. As someone who loves Haunt events, I thought HPITD was a great change for once when I visited last year. The family friendly atmosphere made the park feel more quiet and less chaotic than say Howl-O-Scream, Fright Fest etc. And yes the short lines were the best part! I got plenty of day and night rides on most of the rides there. Walk ons all day!
  11. Well that's lame. LOL Carowinds have a haunt in the middle of their Hurler turnaround and it's still open during Haunt season smh I consider closing Hurler to be a valuable public service.
  12. ^Hersheypark had one as well which they got rid of in 2004. Neat looking rides!
  13. FOF is usually open during Haunt until 5 or 6, then it gets shut down for the Haunt attraction. Same deal with Hurler I believe.
  14. ^If you get there early enough, you should have no problem with lines. Last time I went to Haunt two years ago, my friends and I had no problem re-riding most of the rides there until 7 or 8, that's when it starts to get crowded. If worse comes to worst and you got extra money, there's always Fast Lane.
  15. ^I wanna say it's because of Columbus Day weekend.
  16. Something very similar happened to me earlier this year on Anaconda at Kings Dominion. When the train my buddy and I were on returned into the station the last car (the one we were in) stopped short, leaving our car halfway out of the station. The other six cars ahead were able to release their restraints except us and a lady in line for our seat joked "Looks like you guys get to go again". Granted we did as they just sent the train out, giving us a "free" ride. I was expecting maintenance to come and manually release our restraints.
  17. "Fractures"-Parkway Drive
  18. If they start making wingriders like Thunderbird, then I'm all for it.
  19. I believe this is what you're talking about? Photo Credit :cfc That used to be the station for the old Smurf Mountain ride. You can get a better look on it when on Avalanche's lift hill.
  20. I have no preference as they both have their ups and downs. I like the new vests as they use hydraulics which eliminates the clicking so you can put the restraint down for the best comfort. However I prefer the old as I feel they have more arm room. When I rode Thunderbird this past summer, I was unable to raise one arm up to a full extent due to the handlebars on the seat next to me.
  21. "RX Queen"-Deftones
  22. This has to be my favorite picture so far.
  23. Funny... I had that same cool idea for Hurler. Best idea ever!
