  1. Link is broken for me. This comes up when I click on that link, and when I even just try to go to the main page:
  2. It's considerably better this year. I remember last year it was borderline unbearable. I don't know if they did some retracking, intensely rehabbed the trains, or what, but whatever they did worked and helped the ride a TON. Great pictures, BTW!
  3. Ravine Flyer II at Waldameer on July 23rd, 2010.
  4. To reiterate what's already been said... I decided to take a trip to Waldameer and ride RFII on Friday the 23rd. Yep, still incredibly smooth, and little to no graffiti (at least not anything you don't see at other parks...i.e. *insert name* was here on *insert date* ...as someone said before).
  5. Coll pics! I went by on the 22nd and took this picture. You can see how far they were with the cross-ties back then, compared to the pics two days later in the PPG, so they are definitely working very briskly!
  6. That's good to hear. Hopefully those rumors are just baloney. I hadn't planned on going there this summer, but now I might have to make a trip up there.
  7. It's rumored that the announcement might come in August, so they're probably just trying to get people hyped up for it. If that's the case then they're right on schedule.
  8. From: LINK - ITAL Int'l That seems like it could also have been a maintenance nightmare as of recent as well. One has to wonder, though, why make all those upgrades in recent years (especially this year) only to list it for sale? Parks usually know years in advance what additions they are putting in.
  9. According to Screamscape: Can anyone who's been there recently confirm or deny this?
  10. Yeah, but they have Skyhawk and MaXair. Ocean Motion has run it's course, and then some.
  11. The NHL has REJECTED the Kovalchuk deal. I say good for them, it's about time the law was laid down and they stopped letting teams walk all over them and take advantage of loopholes. Although Lou (Devils' GM) might have an argument because the NHL let the Luongo, Pronger, Yashin, Hossa, etc. deals go through (albeit Hossa just barely squeaking by), but this Kovalchuk deal was REALLY extreme compared to those others. Anyone who doesn't understand why, here are a couple good articles. http://deadspin.com/5590836/ilya-kovalchuks-17+year-contract-is-so-so-illegal-and-the-nhl-cant-do-anything-about-it http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/news/story?id=5396861
  12. Kovalchuk re-signs with Devils, and Flyers trade Simon Gagne to Tampa for D-man Matt Walker and a 2011 4th.
  13. ^ I think he means when the lift hill started back up again, it went really slow, not his ride.
  14. I was there in 2006 when I was 16, so I can't tell you which casinos/shows are must do, and ones to avoid, but I can tell you some things, amusement park-related. I'd say try and hit up all the major rides in and around Vegas also. Ride the 3 other rides at the Stratosphere also. Some coasters include Speed at the Sahara (probably the best one in Vegas), Canyon Blaster at the Adventuredome in Circus Circus, Manhattan Express at New York (don't go way out of your way for this one, though), and if you have time to travel a bit to Primm, you can try out Desperado at Buffalo Bill's (a somewhat rough coaster, but still bearable...it's pretty fast and crazy).
  15. The best launched coaster I have been on has to be the Hulk, but the best launch I have ever experienced is TTD.
  16. While I think it's great that designers are trying to make coasters more rider-friendly and last longer because of less extreme forces, I agree with Stengel in that one of the main fun things about a coaster is the constantly changing forces.
  17. It's been working fine for me. For future reference, use this site.
  18. Went again this evening for the "Nightrider" ticket, because there was a coupon in the Post-Gazette for a $15 ticket. Lines and crowds were minimal, and I got to ride everything I wanted (except Phantom due to lightning). I know I said this already, but I am still amazed at how smooth Thunderbolt is now. Once again, no one was turned away in the fourth row for Sky Rocket. While I only got one ride, which was in the last row, I did notice a man taller than I (I'm 6'2") queue for row 4, and no one said anything. Like I said before, I think it's only a recommendation, but nothing is required. On a positive note, I really can't get enough of that awesome airtime you experience during the Zero-G roll and corkscrew! Also, I really like the addition of music to Sky Rocket's queue!
  19. I just thought it was ridiculous that a peripheral cost just as much as their lowest SKU. But, what I quoted is the bottom line...the same goes for me also, lol. I already have a Wii, which is good enough.
  20. Meh, I took it as you rolling your eyes at Cedar Point's mistake, when one could argue it was out of their control.
  21. ^ One of the towers fell over. It wasn't because of a capacity issue, or anything like that.
  22. ^ Adding to that, Screamsape said it could be between the heights of Power Tower and TTD, which is 300' - 420' (or 240' - 420', depending on which PT height they refer to)...that's INSANE!
  23. Each has their own lineup of good games. For the 360 it's what was mentioned above, but the PS3 still has a really good lineup, that is continually strengthening. -God of War III -Gran Turismo 5 -Metal Gear Solid 4 - Although there is one coming out for 360, but MGS4 used an ENTIRE Blu-Ray disc, which is 50GB. A DVD's space is only a drop in the water compared to that, so expect MGS Rising to not nearly be as elaborate. -The Resistance Franchise -The Killzone Franchise -The Motorstorm Franchise -The LittleBigPlanet Franchise -ModNation Racers -The Uncharted Franchise -Demon's Souls -Twisted Metal -Plus more All in all, I think right this very second the Xbox 360 game lineup has a slight edge, but the PS3 is creeping up EXTREMELY FAST, so watch out. I also believe a PS3 is a MUCH better value, in that you get a Blu-Ray player. Not to mention "Kinect" is going to cost as much as an Xbox 360 Arcade, whereas the "Playstation Move" bundle is $50 cheaper. The choice of console is all based on preference, though. Use these facts as a guideline, but always make a decision based on what YOU prefer.
