Exactly the same at the others. Why wait until 2 if it's no different? -

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I felt very awkward getting in and out. -
Because "Drop Zone" was a movie made by Paramount. Awesome pics! Glad to hear everyone had fun! I guess the next question would be why would Paramount decide to name a ride after a movie that bombed? Meh, I bought it a while ago for 5 or 10 bucks on Blu-Ray, so it's not bad for that price. Snipes is the man.

TTD is a large coaster with many moving parts, and much more complicated than your generic chain lift hill coaster, so it's inevitable that some downtime is going to happen here and there. It just the fact that it has become MUCH more reliable than opening year, and even the few years after 2003. I doubt it, we all know how CF treats CP, and what their attitude is towards their golden child. You really think it's just a coincidence that I305 came up short of MF by 5 feet? Yeah, I highly doubt that. We're talking about TEN YEARS of technology advancement from the time MF was built. I bet if they wanted to build a coaster taller than MF, there would have been no trouble in doing so, but they chose not to for obvious reasons. Regardless, like I already said, if this CW coaster is true, I don't believe that it would be as tall or fast as the one on that flyer. I would definitely like to see it happen, but I also have to be realistic. -

Because it has already happened in the past with I305. Regarding TTD's reliability, it has been MUCH more reliable in recent years. Once CP started getting the hang of things, and creating routines, like starting off thye day with only half-full trains, things got much better. -

I think if CW were to get a coaster like that, it would be just short of TTD (somewhere betweek 400' - 415'), like I305 with MF. Not only that, but why stop at 488? Just build the extra 12 feet and go for broke at 500'. Besides, 138 MPH wouldn't make it the fastest coaster. Formula Rossa is slated to go 149 MPH. I say hoax. -

^ Someone from Pittsburgh, of all people, shouldn't have a tough time fathoming that at all because of the size of Sky Rocket's station/brake/transfer area. -

I have ridden Insanity also, plus the other two. I think the fact that you will be ascending 400 feet into the air, instead of already being up there, will give a much different experience. -
What area really needs a theme park?
FeelTheFORCE replied to let1gre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't mind that 'Wild Escape' amusement park near Wheeling, WV opening eventually, as long as it doesn't have a drastic effect on Kennywood. It would just be nice to have another decent option that isn't 3+ hours away. -

^ I was thinking the same thing earlier. I wonder how much longer it will be until someone breaks that 500' threshold. -

^ I was going to say the same thing. Hell, the last FOUR coasters built by Cedar Point have had a close to vertical, vertical, or more than vertical drop. Hershey: -Storm Runner - 90 degree drop - 2004 -Fahrenheit - 97 degree drop - 2008 Cedar Point: -Millennium Force - 80 degree drop - 2000 -Wicked Twister - 90 degree drop - 2002 -Top Thrill Dragster - 90 degree drop - 2003 -Maverick - 95 degree drop - 2007 -

^ I highly doubt chains would be able to safely operate day in and day out all season at that height. Anyway, the next clue is 64 Crayons...I'm guessing that's how many people the ride will hold. -
If a Gerstlauer Bobsled counts as a Wild Mouse, then non-spinning. I have never been on this, but I have been really intrigued by it, and really want to ride it because it looks INSANE! Heiße Fahrt [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=heibefahrt[/coastertube]

That's false. Regardless, the new track does look too small to be DM track anyway, and I'll go with whoever said above that it's the prototype also being built at Gardaland. -
SFDK Boomerang Stalls Midcourse
FeelTheFORCE replied to Columbia's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ They chose to ride it, didn't they? It's common knowledge to know a ride or coaster always has a chance of mechanically failing, yet they were obviously willing to accept that risk by riding. -

I really hope that was sarcastic, because we all know how every GIB and Invertigo are problem-free. Once again, an event that isn't anything major whatsoever gets eaten up and twisted my the media. How is this any different from a normal, full-circuit coaster getting stuck on a lift hill and having to evacuate riders? -

They don't have a flyer, or stand-up coaster either. A Flyer is a possibility, but not likely, in my opinion. And considering it's been 11 years since the last stand-up was built, I think that era was over a long time ago. They were all bought by Cedar Fair, so that may have something to do with that coincidence. Yeah, but there is the fact, like I said, that they are all the new model with the new trains. B&M is very "cookie-cutter" with their coasters. You also have to put into perspective that the 3 major steel coasters at Hershey: Fahrenheit, Storm Runner, and Great Bear all cost about the same ($12.1m, $12.5m, $13m respectively), so I highly doubt they are going to suddenly have a change of heart and spend $20+ million on a B&M hyper. Even Goliath at La Ronde, which is 174 feet tall, was $16 million. Doing the math, another 38 feet would be roughly $3.5 million more, which is $19.5 million total...and that was in 2006, it will be even more in 2012. Griffon was only $15.6 million and SheiKra was $13.5 million, which leads me to believe this could very well be a B&M Dive Machine. If it is a hyper, I'm going with what was said above in that it will be an Intamin, because Ride of Steel at DL was only $12 million.
