  1. I've been reading almost every reply thus far, and have decided to steer clear of this thread, but I will say this. That's a great line that can sum this whole thing up. This has been said many times, but I'd like to reiterate it. It's one thing if you have the money to burn, all the necessary resources, plenty of time/dedication, etc. and something like this that has always been your lifelong dream has fallen right into your lap, but it's also another thing if you "bite off more than you can chew" and should stay away from something. Now I don't know how much these people make, who they know, what they know, how much free time they have to dedicate to this project, etc., but I'm definitely leaning towards the latter. "Impulse buy" is a phrase that comes to mind. *goes back to ninja lurk mode*
  2. Wow, Ray Graham went off for 277 yards and 3 TDs! I know it was only FIU, but what a way to bounce back!
  3. ^ It's a great game with many online game modes. Drag is fun, and I could teach anyone who doesn't know what they are doing, and even though it's a simulator-style game, it still has many arcade-ey type game modes online that are a lot of fun!
  4. Oh man, forgot that the new season started already! I guess I'll be hitting up Hulu!
  5. Watched "Semi-Pro" with Will Farrell the other day. I had low expectations, so it was actually better than I thought! It's no Step Brothers, but it still has it's moments.
  6. My gamertag is in my sig if anyone wants to add me. I don't have MW2, but I do have Halo Reach, Forza 3, and plan on buying Black Ops. I probably won't be able to play on *such-and-such* date at *such-and-such* time due to college and whatnot, but I'd be game for random invites here and there if anyone needs someone to play with.
  7. ^ Who is this Jacksonville you speak of? You mean the LA Jaguars?
  8. Oh man. Steelers look nasty...and with a 4th string QB? They are absolutely strangling teams. I've been saying it since camp...all the pieces of that 08 defense are back in place, so this is a unit not to be taken lightly. Should be a good game next week at home against Baltimore.
  9. Wow, Tino Sunseri sucks.
  10. ^ I disagree. It's going to be a fun game to anyone who hasn't played any Halos. Maybe not groundbreaking, but still fun regardless. I mainly got Reach to have something to hold me over until Black Ops comes out, and it's a great game at doing that so far...nothing more, nothing less.
  11. Just beat the campaign on legendary today (on co-op), definitely the most epic campaign of any Halo. I'm not sure if I'm going to even try to beat it on legendary by myself.
  12. Fair enough. In other news. Giants RB Brandon Jacobs is going to request a trade, as per nfl.com. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81ab0a6f/article/report-frustrated-rb-jacobs-will-ask-giants-to-be-traded?module=HP_headlines I guess only getting 4 carries (granted, they were playing from behind the entire game), and that helmet debacle were the last straw.
  13. ^^ Reminds me of the Colts in recent years. Since 2005 they have won at least 12 games every season, and started at least 7-0 in 4 out of the 5 seasons, yet have only 1 Super Bowl victory to show for it. ^^^ To each his own, but in my opinion, losing a Super Bowl "stings" a lot more than having a losing record and not even making the playoffs (let alone losing it 4 times in a row, 3 of which were blowouts, and one was the famous, embarrassing "wide right" missed field goal by Norwood). Just ask Tom Brady and the 18-1 Patriots. Sure going 16-0 was a feat, but not finishing the job practically made that season completely worthless. I also don't buy into the whole "well we were good back in the old AFL days" deal. Nothing against you or the Bills, I just never have, and never will. I'm not knocking on some of the great players of those times, because their play obviously speaks for itself. I just believe that when you judge a team based on championships, Super Bowls should always come first, with AFL and NFL championships almost being afterthoughts. One of the main reasons is the fact that the most amount of teams in the AFL at any point was only 10, and NFL around 15 or so before the merger (as opposed to 24 immediately following the merger, 26 in 1969, and 28 in 1970). I view AFL and NFL championships equivalent to AFC and NFC championships, which obviously shouldn't be the basis/foundation of a debate regarding which franchises are the most successful. Going back to the Colts example I mentioned above, sure they dominated the AFC the past 5 years or so, and no doubt they will still be thought very highly of and be remembered for decades to come, but the Patriots and Steelers will always be thought even higher of them because they won more Super Bowls.
  14. My point being that it closed fairly abruptly.
  15. I really hope that was sarcastic, because I don't think I would classify losing 4 Super Bowls in a row, and never even being in a Super Bowl as being "once proud."
  16. ^^ That doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't attract more people to the park. I'm sure a "flying coaster" sounds very intriguing to a lot of people, and those who only go once or twice a year won't really be aware of it's poor operations. I honestly don't think they were going to lose any money even if Six Flags had decided to retain the property. Think about it, what did GL have that could even compete with Cedar Point or Kings Island? Villain? Raging Wolf Bobs? Dominator? The list of attractions was just pitiful compared to the offerings both north and south of the park. Not in it's current (at that time) state, no, but where the park looked to be headed under Six Flags ownership, it very well could have. Robb said it best: Of course we'll never know for sure, but that's why I said "one could argue."
  17. Understandable, but one could also argue that it will eventually "pay for itself," because of the money they would have lost if Six Flags would have continued to own it.
  18. I disagree with that statement. They knew very well that this park had a decent amount of solid rides (some of them star/headline attractions) that could be put to use in other CF parks. Which I believe was one of the main (and only) reasons that compelled them to buy it. That alone indicates they did their "homework" very well.
  19. Bought Reach on Friday (yesterday)...have played it practically non-stop since then! It's a fun game, well worth $60, and definitely a game I can fall back on in the future if I get bored of the current new games (one of the main qualities I look for in a game). If anyone wants to play, my GT is in my sig. Just let me know who you are from here.
  20. I'm surprised they are even allowed to use the name SkyScreamer, because of Marineland's Sky Screamer.
  21. I was thinking the same thing.
  22. Kinda debatable there. Yeah, I agree. I got more airtime towards the back of Conneaut's Blue Streak over the first drop than I have ever experienced on Phantom. And that's only Blue Streak! I think coasters like El Toro speak for themselves. Not to mention, while it is fixed this year, the past 5 years or so, Thunderbolt has been EXTREMELY rough. So painfully rough I could only ride it once or twice per visit.
