Kiddie Hyper Coasters
easytoremember replied to dylang's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The technical definition for a hyper coaster is 200-300 ft, non-looping steel coaster, but most non-looping steel coasters that are fairly high are considered hyper coasters. Ex. Goliath at La ronde is not a hyper coaster by definition, but it is considered a hyper coaster by most enthusiasts. -
EL TORO vs. THE VOYAGE

Voyage Does not beat you up at all. It is VERY intense, especially the twister section and the ending. And It has the best most sustained airtime on any coaster. You are out of your seat every time you change height. -

I'm willing to bet that a good amount if not most people still run to Dragster. When I was there in 04, It was amazing how many people went straight there, even during early entry for hotels, waiting outside the gates for 30 mins. -

Ha--I have about 32 total steel credits and while I thought Mindbender was a fine ride, if it's the 19th best steel coaster in the world then I might be in for boat loads of disappointment as I pursue my credits over the next couple of years. SFOG is my home park too. I also LOVE mind bender. This coaster really must grow on you. It wasn't until the end of last season that I started loving it and I have been going to SFOG for ten years. Now it is tied with Goliath as my fifth favorite steel and I have been on about 75 steel coasters. Thats pretty good for a ride under 100 ft. -

Thats the most way off theory yet. They would still use the Aqua Trax trains for that. Duh. But ya, I do see what you are saying is launch track, but just because it is straight does not mean it is launch track does it? -

Of couse it is no boulder dash! It is a dive machine, which by nature go high in the air then take a dive, then go up and take another dive. It is not trying to interact with the terrain like boulder dash does. That is not what busch gardens is aiming for, and I don't think busch had the terrain to make it like boulder dash. Just becuase it isn't something out of nolimits like Beemerboy said does not mean it wont be good! I liked sheikra a lot, and I am not sure if this one will be better or not, but it looks good to me. I just dont get why everyone is ripping on it because it is resembles Sheikra's layout and doesn't utalize the terrain like you would in a video game. John"Sorry if I was ranting" H.

What do you mean the wow factor when you hit the breaks. Voyage hits its final brakes pretty fast too, plus I would much rather use up more speed and hit the brakes slower then hit the brakes hard with speed that could have been used. -

I think the best looking wooden structure is Mean Streak(even if the ride is not so good). The best themed ride overall for me would have to be thunder mountain possibly. Overall best looking ride would for me have to be mabey voyage. I don't know why, I just love how it looks, and how it seems to dissapear into the trees. Best looking drop would have to be hades at night. Eventhough you are looking at the parking lot you get a great view of the dells, and it is extremely intimidating.
