  1. Unless you visit the park frequently I would almost always suggest a Flash Pass.
  2. At first I thought that was a ridiculous idea since they'd need to change the layout, would get no ROI, would spend a ton of money on it and it wouldn't be anywhere near guest areas but then I realized that a water brake was sort of like another trim brake so the Carowinds maintenance team would probably love the idea. Anything that results in more trims for Intimidator seems like a good thing as far as they're concerned.
  3. If Dorney allowed re-rides then the turnstile numbers would be useless since just about every train has a bunch of empty seats on it when it goes out. I don't know if that's the reason for the policy, but that's my best guess.
  4. Oh god yes. We would drive 23.5 hours to get to Knoebels if we had to. Yes. Knoebels has a brass ring carousel which I believe is the only one left in America. Sit on an outside horse and grab the rings (lol word filter). Also, the flyers are the best I've ever ridden and basically everyone would tell you the same. Don't miss these and ride them a few times if you have to to figure out how to snap the cables. They have a drop tower, Stratosfear which looks average but it absolutely ridiculous and most importantly they have Lusse Auto Skooters which are easily the best bumper cars in America. DON'T MISS THESE, they'll ruin every other bumper car ride for you but it's worth it. They have a very cool Chairlift ride also and a great flume. As far as other ride suggestions, do you like flat rides? Honesty if not you may not be as big a fan of Knoebels as most people (you should still go though just for the rides you mentioned, the rides I mentioned above and the coasters). If you like flat rides, Knoebels has a great selection and everything is run on great programs with long cycles. Just about every flat ride at Knoebels will be 10x better than it's counterpart in a corporate park. We're huge fans of Downdraft, Looper (a very unique ride), Paratrooper, Fandango and a ton of others. They have a Satellite which is not the most comfortable ride in the world but it's worth riding because it's so bizarre. Ceasari's pizza is very good but our favorite thing in the park is the Pierogies. The park has 2 kinds of Pierogies though and the ones you want are located near the Alamo in the front of the park. Don't get them from anywhere else. Those are good, but they're not amazing. Basically all the food is good though, the ice cream waffles are great too and the bakery (that looks like a huge loaf of bread) has great cookies. If you enjoy that type of park then you'll love Knoebels. Totally random by the way but if you like old school Mini Golf they have a great course. And while we're talking about games, Fascination is an absolute blast.
  5. Great pictures, and the Cape May Lewes Ferry is always a great time... too bad you didn't have time to stop in Rehoboth. It's a great little beach town.
  6. ^^^^^ Great Bear is criminally underrated. It's not my favorite invert but it's really good and I love it's unique layout.
  7. It's also almost a tradition of their web team screwing up and leaking everything ahead of time so let's hope that happens soon. This will never happen, and it's clearly a water park expansion but I agree with you that they really need a log flume. If they build a log flume I'll take off from work just to get down there for opening day just because I'd be so happy a corporate park decided to invest in a brand new log flume that we'd have to go down and support them. This trend of parks removing log flumes quite honestly sucks because what you end up with is a bunch of parks with no way to cool off on hot days without being absolutely drenched with waterfalls on rapids rides or manufactured tidal waves on large splash boat rides. Parks need something in between and every log flume that's still operating is immensely popular for that reason.
  8. I'm enjoying this Michigan vs Ohio thing way too much.
  9. This sums up why this entire "save thunder road" thing is stupid. The ride was basically always a walk on, if people voted with their feet the same way they vote with their hashtags then the ride would still be there. Personally I liked the ride but it's the textbook definition of an average, forgettable, middle-of-the-road coaster.
  10. When I rode it a couple weeks ago I didn't find it rough. Carolina Cyclone on the other hand is one of the worst coasters I have ridden lol I really didn't find any of the coasters at Carowinds to be rough. Carolina Cyclone is a little rough but it's nothing awful. ... maybe it's just me.
  11. Where did this Flashback removal stuff come from? They clearly don't care about having 2 boomerangs next to eachother and Flashback seems to be the smoother and more reliable of the two so I don't know why we're all convinced it's going anywhere.
  12. Yeah the weather for tomorrow looks outstanding with relatively low winds. It should be a great day.
  13. That is the sound of God and some Intamin goodness.
  14. Check out this really cool (and hilariously 80's) news clip from the opening of Hercules. I stumbled across this this morning and it was pretty cool to watch.
  15. I think you're reading too far into it. Even though the new coaster will almost definitely be a floorless dive machine I still doubt that was intentional.
  16. I don't know, Cedar Fair (using them as an example) in general blows Six Flags away when it comes to quantity of flat rides. You're right, Great Adventure isn't terrible... but compared to Dorney (using another local example) it's like night and day. The same goes for Hershey, which is another one of their major competitors.
  17. WHAT. Dude, you need to come for a visit, I'm always there. I think you would like it. The Great White is worth a trip and there's tons of awesome flats and great food. And lines are generally similar to Dorney except weekend nights in mid summer and even then they are totally manageable. I could talk up Morey's all day, I spent the last two weekends there. That would be awesome. We'll probably head down there finally either later this year or next year. We'll absolutely hit you up when we do.
  18. Dollywood is clearly the best part of the four. Personally I'd lean towards a Carowinds / Dollywood detour even though it's way out of the way. I know you're a huge fan of Knoebels and while Dollywood is much more corporate feeling, it does have a similar atmosphere surrounding it (or as close as a corporate park would ever be able to get to a similar atmosphere) so I think you'd like it quite a bit.
  19. To be honest I've never experienced anything like that at Cedar Point. If that was in-fact going on, then I agree that it's a problem.
  20. I call B.S. on this also and agree that this person was clearly making things up... I don't believe their claim that Six Flags has a maintenance team.
  21. Awesome video, this ride looks incredible.
  22. Fixed. I have yet to visit a park with better operations than Cedar Point. Even on slow days, every coaster (minus Wicked Twister obviously) runs at least two trains. It's clear that the park prides itself in getting the line moving as fast as possible. As far as American regional corporate parks go I would agree that Cedar Point has the best operations out there. Sure parks like Knoebels still put them to shame, but they also have far less ridiculous safety devices / scans and checks to contend with.
