Knoebels Discussion Thread

I guess you don't read too many of my posts. I pretty much just gush over Phoenix on a daily basis to the point where I'm sure everyone here is probably sick of hearing about it. lol -

I'd lean towards going to Morey's and getting the new credits. I still haven't made it there either which is kind of ridiculous since we live so close. -

Nice report, You pretty much echo my sentiments... the only rides in the park that are any good are the Derby Racer, the Flume, the S&S tower and the Old Mill. It's sad because I basically grew up at Playland but they really let the place go. The Dragon coaster is one of the most ridiculously boring adult size coasters in the world, probably thanks in part to that awful Morgan train. -
Your Dream Lineup

Wow, this thread just brought out the Cedar Point fanboy in me... lol 1 Giga: Millennium Force 1 Hyper: Magnum XL 200 1 Hybrid: Wicked Cyclone (this is the only RMC hybrid I've ridden, I actually almost said Gemeni though just because the racing element is unique to my imaginary park but Wicked Cyclone is just too good) 1 Invert: Raptor 2 Woodies: Phoenix and El Toro 1 Launched: Maverick 3 Anything: Kumba, Big Bad Wolf (we need a family coaster), Mystery Mine (keep them boots on haters, we need a themed coaster) Edit: If the "3 Anything" can include non coasters then I vote for Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knott's and Skyway at Great Adventure instead of Big Bad Wolf and Kumba. -

Does anyone want it removed? It's ridiculously popular and has mass appeal. Good luck with that... lol Personally I love it. -

Great report, I always hear people complain about Flight of Fear and Anaconda and figure I must be riding different coasters than everyone else... I love them both (although of the 2, Flight of Fear is significantly better and smoother). -

^No, you're wrong. This is serious business and we have to come up with a universal top 10 list that we all agree on so every opinion must be stated as fact with GREAT AUTHORITY. And it's all fun and games until some a**hole like me puts Mystery Mine in the top 10 out of 250 coasters and screws the whole thing up. -

500 foot Intamin Strata... go hard or go home. Also, did I hear Log Flume? They had me at Log Flume. -

Good for you for riding so many rides at Conneaut Lake. We rode the dark ride and the coaster and then figured we must owe it to some higher power that we were still alive. We bailed as riding anything else would have just been tempting fate. -

Great report. I actually prefer KD to KI (barely) but KI has the better coaster lineup, KD just seems nicer to me as it's more heavily wooded and that area by the flume (and the flume itself) almost makes you forget you're in a corporate park. I305 is the exception to this of course, the placement is ALMOST reminiscent of Six Flags America. I agree with you, a high profile ride like that could really use a nicer surrounding area. -
Yup, they just scan the pass like they do at SFMM. The front is the best seat by far. The line will be long for it but it's worth it. It's good in all seats, but you don't get a choice of seat on much of anything at SFNE. The only good coaster where you can choose your seat is Bizarro. Not really, the only tip I have is to avoid Batman at all costs right after the waterpark closes. Bizarro and Wicked Cyclone are pretty consistent all day. JB's by Goliath is the only place we ever eat at the park. For a snack the Kettle Corn (in the same area) is great. Goliath sucks now, but if you want to ride it ride it first thing in the morning because it has terrible capacity and more importantly it's an unreliable piece of crap and you should ride it before it breaks down. lol. Assuming you're riding the coasters already, I've got nothing. As far as coasters... Thunderbolt, Batman and Pandemonium are great.

I have a tip.. whatever the GPS says about time, double it. If it says to take the 405, triple it. And. I agree about Knotts, if you have to you can do it in a half day. Besides the coasters make sure you ride the flume and mine ride. -

last ride of your life, you had to choose one, which do you pick??? Not that you asked but neither... Millennium Force Agreed, I thought Fury had outstanding airtime.
