  1. Frontier, the greyhound bus of the sky. Sometimes they raise prices artificially and issue promo codes so sign up for the email list and then just watch that and the website. Like today flights from Providence to Orlando in March are "expensive" at $27 (lol) but it'll drop.
  2. We went in a biblical deathstorm (or as they call it in the midwest... Tuesday) and that's exactly what we did. Like 10 straight rides on Gobbler Getaway.
  3. Great news. Banshee is a good ride but in the back of the train it feels like the ride is trying to shake itself apart and has felt like that since the year it opened. It doesn't ruin the ride or anything, but when compared to an old-school invert train it obviously tracks like a pile of dog shit. I feel like B&M inverts maintain their smoothness over time better than basically any other ride type. Montu's layout is is preposterously aggressive, it's 25 years old, it has no offseason and it couldn't possibly be smoother. The same is true of every B&M invert ever running an old-style train. Why they ever messed with such a perfect train is beyond me.
  4. Their dolphin show was really nothing special. No big loss here...
  5. I don't know the answer to that question but I would suggest calling them. The people who answer the phone for that chain are great (which is weird since I would have expected them to fire all of them and outsource it by now). They can probably make the reservation for you. They won't hit capacity, but I agree... I would want the peace of mind of having the reservation. Yeah we're doing Texas at the end of next month. Less than $50 each way per person... and that's on a real airline!
  6. This doesn't really apply to SLC but I sometimes wonder if people really even price out flights to Orlando. We're flying there this weekend and we paid $11. We go constantly. Nobody in the midwest or northeast should have to pay more than like $30-$40 ever to fly there unless they choose to splurge on a more comfortable seat for 2 hours.
  7. At the risk of veering off topic, people are just incredibly selective in what causes of death they choose to care about. People only care if it's high-profile, tragic accident, something new and scary, etc... The last year should have proven that. We told the most obese country in the world to stay home for months and not go to the gym because it was extremely dangerous but deemed fast food Drive Thrus essential all in the name of public health. What is the leading cause of death in America over the last 12 months? Heart disease... by a mile. Just like it always is. What are we doing about it? Well, Disney Springs just opened a place where you can buy grilled cheese on a donut bun a few days ago but don't worry, capacity is limited and you have to stand on social distancing markers to get one. They also opened a giant cookie place recently and it had a 10 hour virtual queue. It's sort of the same thing as this. Way more people have been killed driving to and from Kings Island over the years than at Kings Island but literally nobody cares about that because we're just used to it. PS: This is not a commentary about covid restrictions, plenty of them make sense. It's just a point about how selective people are with this kind of thing.
  8. It's normal top speed on any-given-day is 0mph so I'll take anything above that.
  9. This is probably possible. Anything is on the table in a state where parks haven't been given clearance to open at all yet. I don't think it's likely (except in California where there's no telling what they'll come up with), but possible.
  10. Theme parks are not requiring any of that. Why would they start?
  11. Parks aren’t going to do that either unless there forced to. They could do that now if they want.
  12. I don’t see parks doing that at all unless they’re in a state that forces them to do it. There is no incentive for them to do so. I feel like 2021 will start our just like 2020 and rules will slowly get more and more lax as the year goes on as we move back into relative normality. Once you vaccinate the majority of the older people death rates will plummet really quickly (like within a month or two I expect them to drop like crazy). As more and more people get vaccinated case rates will continue dropping too (they already are) until people basically just don’t care anymore. I do sort of feel like masks and distancing markers will be here for a good chunk of the year at most parks. No major corporate chain is going to want to be the first one to do away with them and have to deal with the headlines. Honestly we could be down to 10 covid deaths a day and I still feel like if Disney said “no more masks or distancing” people would crucify them. It’ll be a bit for that but personally... whatever. I’ll take it.
  13. Yeah it's not that great of a ride and it's (ironically) not that Chaotic. I ride it when I go to Vegas because I grew up riding it in Rehoboth Beach as a kid and it's kind of nostalgic. I would never tell anyone to go and seek one out.
  14. Eh, it’s not that great. It only works when it feels like it. Last time we rode it our car never unlocked and we were on the back side of the ride so they never noticed. They loaded the ride again. They came by and saw that we were locked but I guess they just figured that we just knew how to pull the outer bar down and lock it ourselves (which we do since we did it on the last cycle). We tried to do the right thing and tell them but they checked fast and ignored us so we got a free second ride. On the next cycle it unlocked automatically, otherwise we might have been there all night.
  15. You're basically looking at it. Keansburg in NJ has one but it operates pretty infrequently and the place is basically a permanent shithole carnival.
  16. I sort of expect them to go back to operating as a zoo within the next few months but obviously if someone rides a dive coaster with a mask on they'll die of covid for sure.
  17. Signtech has posted a picture of the Emperor sign on Facebook. ... the park isn't opening for like a year, I know this isn't earth-shattering news but it's something. What do you want from me?
  18. I don't feel super confident either. I'm really worried that someone won't come in with a higher bid with the intention of building condos...
  19. Great photos. Yeah, Chaos looks insane but spends most of it's life rocking back and fourth almost getting to the point where it starts doing some crazy sh*t but never quite getting there. I still love it though.
  20. I have a hard time getting excited about new Six Flags coasters because I just assume it'll be 137 years before they actually open. Even when we went to Holiday in the Park this year I made zero walks back there to check it out because I felt like there was no point in getting excited about it but I'm sort of starting to feel the hype here.
  21. That's about $1,599,998 more than I would pay for it.
