  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates it when flumes are removed for coasters. I won't deny that sometimes (but not all the time) the coaster is a better ride (Maverick) but I hate to see it and would much rather they build around them. They're costly rides to run and maintain, but they're also overwhelmingly popular and appeal to everyone from kids to thrill seekers.
  2. Are you suggesting that the Mean Streak announcement will have anything to do with Kings Dominion? I'm confused.
  3. I would think 2018 will include tons and tons of recycled water slides around the chain.
  4. This is a joke right? Please tell me this is a joke.
  5. I'm torn. I actually do like Cedar Fair's method better, but I also said that if Great Adventure got Holiday in the Park I wouldn't complain about anything Six Flags did for a decade. They have 9 years left on their free pass so I'll keep my mouth shut.
  6. Is it any good? Mine's not maxed out but it seems like it's ceiling is pretty low so I didn't bother leveling it up.
  7. I have a very important and totally irrelevant update. The wind has died down, all is right with the world. Everything is all better now.
  8. Okay so I have a theory... now stay with me on this. Maybe... just maybe... your opinion doesn't translate to everyone else and some people like different things. Obviously these aren't coasters and they're not as enjoyable as coasters for most people but they honestly provide a pretty enjoyable ride that's fun and thrilling for a very reasonable price tag. Enthusiasts seem to be unreasonably annoyed by these rides because they're marketed as coasters but never complain about rides like the Intamin inverting ships found at KD, Carowinds and BGT or any type of Zamperla inverting ride like Meteor at Dorney which provide basically the same ride experience. The only reason enthusiasts have a problem with these rides is because they don't like the marketing, but honestly who cares? A lot of people like them, they have cool lighting packages, look nice and don't cost much so they leave open the door for a larger expansion in the following year(s). I don't care what the hell they call it, and if calling it a coaster helps them sell tickets then go for it. It's not like anyone outside of the enthusiast community would know the difference. Now on the subject of LaRonde. Let's pretend this thing was actually a coaster. If this were a coaster it would probably be the 4th best coaster in the park after Goliath, Vampire and (believe it or not) Dragon. It's also perfect for LaRonde because it comes out of the box with only 1 "train" which means it would fit right in because of it's low capacity. It would also be one of the most (see: only) aesthetically pleasing rides in the park which is never a bad thing. I have no issue with these rides and actually kind of enjoy them.
  9. Thanks a**hole. Just burst out laughing for no reason at the office. I'm officially dead. Shut the site down. You win.
  10. If you had to keep waiting for front seat riders, why wouldn't you just always wait for the front too? Especially on a ride like Dragster where it makes the ride infinitely better. By the way, in the case of Raptor the front seat line is never long. I never ride it in any other seat. The front left is where it's at, but if you're one of those people who whines about the "raptor snap" then please avoid it. That seat is only for fun people (which based on your report, it seems that you are).
  11. Someone needs to start a Kings Dominion coaster rumor every year just to watch the KD fanboys lose their collective sh*t every time it doesn't happen.
  12. We rode in the front because we were the only people on the ride... and pretty much in the entire park even though it was a holiday weekend and a beautiful day.
  13. The park must be dead today. Magnum is running one train on webcam (probably to keep weight in it because of the wind). I don't think I've ever seen Magnum run one train before.
  14. Yeah It's been down for wind all day so far. Not that I spend too much time watching the webcams or anything...
  15. Am I the only one that thinks Blue Streak absolutely sucks and is rough as hell? I've heard nothing but good things about it but I hated the thing. I agree that the Tumble Bug is pretty cool (though it looked like it was in awful shape).
  16. I usually rode it once a visit but I don't care at all that it's gone. Windseeker serves the same purpose but is a much better and more visually appealing ride. It was really strange to have the Ferris Wheel, Windseeker and Space Spiral all right next to eachother, each providing a similar experience. And as far as Sky Ride goes, I love that thing to death. Not only does it provide great views and offer a really relaxing ride but it also saves you walking and makes the main midway look awesome from the ground.
  17. That day is unfortunately coming. I'm really excited to see what's coming but I'll always miss Mean Streak, especially because it's very existence pissed enthusiasts off so much.
  18. Space Spiral, better than Sky Ride? Once again...
  19. Aside from the fact that it was entirely impractical with no real plan or capital to speak of, was Big Dipper really that great? I rode it once and found it to be a nice ride but entirely average and forgettable. If that would have put that into any well established park I think it would underwhelm a ton of people.
  20. Of course it's not out of the question but it's unlikely at this point as it would require a larger investment than they seem to want to put into any one park at any one time with their spending habits. Things can always change, but if I had to bet on it I wouldn't bet on a B&M.
  21. It's entirely possible to have a rougher ride on Blue Streak than Mean Streak depending on where you ride each coaster. I like Blue Streak, and it's a better ride than Mean Streak is for sure but if you ride that thing in a wheel seat it can beat you up a little. Ride Blue Streak in the middle row of any car.
  22. That's an amazing idea but I don't see a B&M ever fitting in to the current Six Flags model. Giving every park a new ride every year is great in theory but they end up spreading themselves pretty thin. Even a cheaper alternative like an El Loco or Eurofighter type ride would be awesome though.
  23. Yeah that sounds ridiculously farfetched but at the same time it would be pretty amazing. I'd bet anything that's not what they're doing though.
  24. The front row is the sweet spot but you need to lean forward with your back off the seat back. That's always been the case, though it's still better in the front of any car even if you don't do that last part.
