Same location, same name, same queue building, spiral lift hill, tunnel, track going around the spiral lift hill, track that races through the trees, both about 2500ft long, family coaster for everyone to enjoy. Not sure how you can say they aren't paying tribute to ZZ.5 points

Im gonna say this for the people in the back. . . Fast Lane is not giving you the ability to cut the entire queue and does not guarantee you NO wait at all, it gets you a reduced wait time. It's called FAST lane not NO lane. . . 50% less of a wait than the regular line is fine by me but then I never get fastlane so. . .4 points

This looks like a decent addition to the park. Is it what I would have added: no. But it looks fun and depending on travel prices and the KC Royals schedule, I might try to make it down to the area over a weekend next year. And then with the new attraction being so close to the Boomerang, that attraction's ridership numbers could increase due to increased traffic in the area. So I'm wondering if the park will get one of the new-gen trains for it. Or is that asking too much? Just because it holds no nostalgia for you, does not mean it pays no tribute to the original ride.3 points

No hate from this guy. Also I would have taken Wicked Twister in a heartbeat had they relocated it. This reimagining of Zambezi Zinger is original and not a cloned coaster such as a raptor. Not throwing shade on a raptor either. I just think you gotta be excited when something original comes to your park that hasn’t ever been done before.3 points

I'm guessing you meant for the phone flying out, not BGT actually having decent operations for once haha.2 points

Ugh, I kinda figured it would be obnoxious. Thanks much for the reply Bill, much appreciated.1 point

The advantage VF has is that the majority (vast majority) of the customer base is happy with how the park is and generally isn't bothered by a lack of a new roller coaster or other major additions year after year. The local community of the twin cities metro and surrounding area still regularly plan trips the park, just like they plan trips to Wisconsin Dells, MOA, State Fair, BWCA, Lake Superior, and their cabin, none of which change much year-over-year (the biggest exception to this being the Nick-U conversion at MOA several years ago, a one-time change for the most part). I've also noticed if people I know in the area want to see big, flashy attractions, most of them make a trip to Disney or Seaworld, and the small percentage of enthusiasts go to Cedar Point, Six Flags, or whatnot. Remember MN is in roughly the middle of the North American continent, so being able to go to the ocean while stopping by Disney in the same trip is appealing. As long as the locals keep buying tickets and season passes, the park is successful and doesn't need the draw of a major new roller coaster to stay financially stable. The property is pretty much in a wetland and the nearby airport caps any future ride at the same height as Power Tower, meaning major construction projects can be challenging. I want a big addition (roller coaster) just like the rest of you, but we are a small minority and this isn't politics so I don't think we'll get our way anytime soon...1 point

Welcome back to the wonderful world of parks and coasters! My last coaster was last Sunday, the Spinning Coaster (this is its actual name) at Trimpers in Ocean City, MD - a boring SBF Visa figure 8.1 point

Haven’t been on a coaster since Nitro back in October 2019… …until today. Rode Great White at Morey’s Piers during our afternoon trip to the boardwalk. Over 1,000 days without a coaster. Also was our daughter’s first time on any ride - took her on the Ferris wheel and carousel. Good day. Glad to be back.1 point

Man, I actually think this coaster look really fun, and cool, and look forward to hopefully getting to ride it next year when I finally take my kids on a Missouri coaster trip! I don't get the negativity about it at all! Regulars at my closest amusement park Michigan's Adventure would kill for something like this to be added there! lol1 point

I’m going to count this as a success The afternoon had its moments of sadness (especially on the carousel when I realized that right at that moment I would have been texting Nick the picture of me on the white rabbit. But thank goodness for Sean who distracted me by talking about how awesome cedar downs was during his trip to cedar point) Big thanks to Sean for driving, Amy for encouraging me to try, Juan for meeting up with us as well. . . and especially Park President Jeffrey Siebert - who made a special effort to meet up with us so he could give me a hug and his condolences Other than the carousel only rode Dr Diabolicals Cliffhanger (3 times). But was good to get out of the house. my take on Dr. D? it's a really good dive coaster for the park, and not as extreme as it looks. It falls somewhere in the middle of the park's coaster lineup - not as good as Poltergeist, Wonder Woman, or Iron Rattler - about the same level as Superman & Goliath - better than Roadrunner Express, Batman, Pandemonium, and Boomerang. what elevates it higher than the "same level" coasters tho, is the theming in the queue - an excellent indoor preshow with two air-conditioned rooms, animatroncs, hidden doors, and some great special effects. The free locker system is great too, although zippered pockets seemed to work just fine without needing to use the lockers on my 2nd and 3rd rides. unlike most dive coasters? back row is THE place to ride this coaster. The back row gives an amazing pop of air on the 1st and midcourse drop (that you just don't get on the front or middle row), and makes the pops of air in the helixes that much stronger. so yeah. . ride back row. . right hand side of the train. . you're welcome. and again, thanks to Jeffrey for stopping by for a hug. . it really made my afternoon, and I really can't express how much it meant to me.1 point

Finally got back to the Mountain yesterday and got my first rides on Wonder Woman. My first ride was in row 6 and I was slightly underwhelmed. Let me preface by saying I am a HUGE fan of Railblazer (top 5 for me currently). Don’t get me wrong I thought it was great and I knew going in don’t expect Railblazer but I just thought the elements would be more. Knowing I was in row 6 I quickly got back in line. I let two girls behind me go ahead on the next ride to secure row 12 and let me say the ride blew me away!!! It’s shocking the difference the back makes. The drop is insane, literally out of your seat all the way to the bottom and the air time doesn’t stop there. It’s my #2 in the park as TC still reigns supreme. I rode them back to back twice to confirm. TC’s airtime is just so freaking good especially blue track in the front. So good! I know this has been said before but yes X2 is rough and it’s really only the last part. I got back row inside seat and honestly thought I got a concussion after riding. I was holding my head hard against the headrest and it still slammed hard. Anyone else had that? Nonetheless my #3 in the park as the first drop and raven turn drop are unlike anything out there! Tatsu was running one train and even with flag pass it was still a 35 minute wait, BRUTAL!!! Ops were so slow, I even timed it from departure to departure it was 7 minutes and 35 seconds. Unbelievable. #4 in the park as the pretzel is still unreal intense! Last ride comment, Goliath is easily the best themed ride in the park. Built in a time when Six Flags gave a crap about theming and I love it. When I went to Discovery Kingdom a couple years ago I was pleasantly surprised that Medusa built around the same time was themed almost just as well. Even Wonder Woman just feels cheaply done so I appreciate Goliath tremendously! Overall a fun day as I went strictly to ride rides. The park doesn’t look great as there are a lot of abandoned buildings decaying in the extreme heat by the day. When I was 12 years old if I said that Knotts was better than Six Flags I’d slap myself. Today it’s not even a comparison.1 point

Reducing attendance results in lower crowds, resulting in a better guest experience, possibly resulting in more return-visitors and in-park spending.1 point
