So this day actually turned out pretty disappointing. I reached the park that Friday, March 4, got in line for the back for Pantheon, and... got denied Long story short, I've dropped nearly 30 pounds since and got on last night Fun ride but only got one ride in. Looking forward to many more!5 points

TeacherKim... I am old but I will never forget my first ride on the Eagle- I was lucky enough to ride actual Train # 2 with people on it. Mostly construction workers. It was the most unbelievable ride on the Eagle ever. I also got the see the look on Mr. Allen and Mr. Cobb's face when the first train came back in the trims and ready block.... some things you never forget. Also, it was not a warm day so... They had "very" light grease in the bearings because of the cold- it really flew around the track. On the original back "dog leg" you felt like the Train was going to fly off the track. The paint on Eagle has held up- but needs a new coat. The original pieces were "dipped" in a paint trough and allowed to dry before being assembled. I believe that it has lasted longer than most and kept the wood in good shape. The summer of the build was awesome. We got to see it being assembled. It was bigger than anyone had ever seen in 1975. The first 5 or 10 bents for the drop went up first. Walking up the hill toward the mine train from the USA section you are right in line with those bents. People would stand there for 30 minutes looking at that with mouth agape. Some would ask what it was and the word around the park from employees would be "it's the braces for the world's largest drive-in movie". That was an awesome summer to work in the Park. BTW, Steve Reed - the guy that is refurbing the Horses on the Carousel- started 2 years after I did. I was so surprised to learn that he is still there. The winter we painted the Horses- my winter work was sanding the Horses to get ready to receive paint. Sanding the flowers and intricate work on those Horses was very hard work. You really developed an appreciation for how detailed those pieces of art really are....I also sanded trash cans to be repainted before Park open in April- a different time to be sure.3 points

I continue to be reminded why I dislike people... Let's just flaunt that we're jerks and put evidence up all over the internet to prove the fact. Why can't people just be decent?2 points

Based on what?!?!?!?! All the other successful parks still running there??2 points

Even with two metal detector sides going, when the ride reopened from a breakdown a few weeks ago it still sent at least 6 trains with only a few people in them and then gradually filling in. They definitely need to figure that out.1 point

Appreciate it! Time to add a few more to the collection... haha Our pies from yesterday... Did three total, two were traditional Margherita-style (with slight variance between them) and one was a classic pepperoni. Wood fired around 700-800F. Dough for all of them was a 3 day cold ferment Neapolitan dough (just yeast, water and salt). For the two Margherita's, the sauce was a simple rough mash of San Marzano tomatoes with a touch of salt and fresh garlic. The pepperoni featured a more 'classic' sauce I had leftover from last week, so it had fairly heavy oregano, garlic/onion, chili flake, some sugar and overall a bit more concentrated/rich due to the use of some tomato paste as well. So completely different from the San Marzano based sauce. Margherita #1 was just the sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil and a swirl of extra virgin olive oil. Margherita #2 was the same, but with the addition of Pecorino Romano to give a touch more Umami/richness. While both were stunning, #2 took the edge! But I love a nice sharper cheese accent, so I assumed I would at least. But man, simplicity is best here... Still easily our favorite pizza to make/eat. When the dough, sauce and cook method is just right... Can't get any better. The pepperoni was fantastic as well, a complete 180 from the previous two. Salty, zesty/herby. Just plain old pre-cut pepperoni from the store, so no 'cups' this time! I have a 25 LB bag of Italian 00 flour incoming tomorrow that will be utilizing for my Neapolitan style pizzas this summer, so I can't wait to try that out.1 point

The water park issue is purely a shortage of life guards, all the pools around here are having massive issues as well. But high school/college kids just don't work those traditional summer jobs as much anymore. Many are busy taking summer classes or internships to pad their college resumes, to their detriment in my opinion. And that's from a former teacher. There are skills you just don't learn anywhere else.1 point

On June 11th, Tom Scott posted a video on his second YouTube channel of him getting over his phobia of coasters at Alton Towers.1 point

^ I tend not to take them seriously, but it kinda is a feather in their cap. . . especially since Tripadvisor awards aren't based on voting/popularity, but rather the % of good reviews on the site (at least that's how I read the info in the article). as we all know, angry people are way more likely to post something negative. . so kinda cool to see them recognized for something positive1 point

https://fox17.com/news/local/dollywood-named-1-theme-park-in-us-by-tripadvosor?fbclid=IwAR1S3Hn6ctlmBuSzAKo5n3EbUbs8ALjGReTVIdy3dYClVhd4MMtDy2UcV3w Congrats to Dollywood. I find the rest of the list for USA a bit odd, but can see it. . .tho the worldwide list is a bit . . . questionable. no TokyoDisneySea? or other big parks that I've always heard raves about? but Dollywood even ranked on the International list.1 point

I'd be happy with a transplant right now. Scream from Magic Mountain (like anyone would miss it over there) in Tidal Wave's spot would fit the bill nicely. Midwest would have a Floorless too.1 point

Maybe the ride op was "fragile" or maybe a person that simply does not respond well to pressure or maybe afraid she was going to get in trouble. My son had a supervisor give him a safety once over some people ignoring him when he directed them to stay seated until the go karts had all been parked and he was pretty sure they did not understand English, so hardly his fault but the supervisor didn't care. Impossible for anyone to pass judgement when they don't know the person/situation/job pressures, etc. On the other hand maybe people could stop being so defiant and just follow directions once in a while. All he had to do was wait on the ride and the whole thing would have been avoided1 point

Everything is fine, until you get to the last 3rd or so of the ride. It's just the typical RMC different angled airtime thrashing/bucking, but with mini hills that try to rip your legs off. It feels like the train is trying to throw you out, not in a good way. I would imagine it would be like bull riding if you were strapped to the bull. I saw go hard and make T3 your 250th. Joking, but not joking.1 point

HAHAHAH. . not at Six Flags, but too good not to share again, since it also happened at CP. this reminds me of the time in 2017 when @Nrthwnd and I went to Coastermania! at Cedar Point, and we were staying at Breakers, so were hanging outside at the bar/firepits getting our buzz on after a full day at the park. and this VERY drunk young man was in hysterics about some girl breaking up with him, crying and shrieking. . . . and Bill - who had had a number of cocktails himself - took it upon himself to try and go comfort the guy. Telling him things like, "you're young, you'll find someone, and it will be the right person". . .etc. And Bill then attempted to use himself as an example of how he'd experienced being dumped, but had been with his husband for decades now, because when it's right, it's right. I was watching this across the firepits, very amused, because intoxicated people are loud. . and the guy squinted at Bill, and said "How old ARE you?" and Bill told him. and the guy exclaimed at the top of his lungs: "MY GAWD, YOU'RE OLDER THAN BLUE STREAK" (hysterical). . . . .1 point

	I prefer well-seasoned... 55 and still riding coasters.1 point

Honestly he was really trying his heart out, and in all seriousness the park is actually pretty strict with the employees and their phones. They aren't allowed to have them out unless they are in an employee only area. One of the reasons I was willing to drive my son back and forth for a couple months when he first started working there and only had his permit was the fact that it was a job outside, interacting with people and away from phones/computers.1 point

I thought Poltergeist was kinda of rough up until they cleaned it up last year, but nothing like FoF. I rode FoF a few years back, and it was pretty gnarly. But I found the issue to be more the snappy transitions — which Premier was kind of known for back then. If you can't see what's coming up, you can't brace yourself at all. And that layout has a few swift transitions and turns that whip you around. I love enclosed coasters, but you can't just stick any old design in a box and assume it'll work. I haven't been to Kings Island since 2016, before Mystic Timbers existed. I got a night ride in on The Beast in absolutely torrential rain, which was super painful but an amazing experience. And I'm no ranker of coasters, but Diamondback is probably still my #1.1 point
