  2. We were back at the park earlier this week for a couple days. VC crew really keeps things moving, never had a wait of more than about 35 min and that was usually doing front row. We were at RP so had express for most things but I will reiterate two things for everyone. Use single rider for Hagrids, all you really give up is a chance to ride on the motorbike side, not that big a deal and even if you aren't usually a "show" person make sure to go see the Bourne Stuntacular, it is amazing.

  3. To those that have posted appreciate the updates and trip reports! We will be making our first ever visit pre-CoasterCon on June 16 & 17 and really looking forward to it. So bummed that we won't sync up with Duran Duran......

  4. Jeffrey has been posting updates on his Twitter, as they have been working on the theming in the show building: and updating us on the progress of the 3rd train for Iron Rattler:

  5. My God, just stop. Can someone post a Diabolical update please? Enough of this other crap.

  6. If you say so. They were on sufficiently different topics and so I did them separately. Why is it such an issue for you? You didn't have to read them and they were all very short. What the hell are you talking about? My profile clearly states I am from St. Louis. There I answered two different posts at once. Happy now?

  7. Wave pool gets its bottom re-coated annually or semi-annually.

  8. Ouch, I'm hurt? And yeah, the Golden Ticket Awards are kinda a joke around here, but with only 86 posts on a not-even-three-years-old account, I shouldn't expect you to know that. Have fun with your "amazing" Cedar Point experience, featuring: -30-minute-wait-after-merge with Fast Lane on two of their top 3 coasters -Their top four coasters being maintenance nightmares, and rarely running for an entire day straight. -Most of the flats not being on Fast Lane. -The only superb food being at Melt and Famous Dave's, which aren't even CP restaurants. -No sense of urgency by most ride ops. -Separate admission water park, without any Fast Lane-accepting rides (the swim up bar is nice, I'll give it that). -Complete lack of a log flume. Like I said, I do not question that CP has the better coaster lineup when compared to KI, and I still consider CP to be my number 2 favorite park. My opinion was, and is, that Kings Island is the better overall park experience. But this is a Six Flags thread, and arguing about CF parks belongs elsewhere.

  9. So because there was a pandemic we're going to pretend that park planning wasn't ever on the same level as the Farmer's Almanac?

  10. This.... and the grounds are beautiful. Same reason a lot of people go to The Masters (Augusta National Golf Club) even though they dont like golf.

  11. Even on the third day of operation (Monday), Magnum, Gemini, and Steel Vengeance had signs out saying closed all day. Maverick was down but did come up la bit later. So much for starting my afternoon visit in the back of the park, lol.

  12. Knott's is the only year round park in the Cedar Fair chain, so its conforms to the calendar year "season" pass of the rest of the company , rather than the rolling "annual" pass of Disney/Uni. Six Flags does the same thing for the parks in CA and TX.

  13. I'm the last person to ever actually ride Rapids rides, but I found it kind of ridiculous that Infinity Falls AND the Rapids at BGT are both down for maintenance in May. Shouldn't that be a winter project?

  14. At the park on 6/8 for the end of the ACE SpringCon (first two days at BGT) IceBreaker would be a fun family coaster if they were able to let younger kids ride it but since they shot themselves in the foot with the comfort collars which prevent said kids from riding it's all kind of eh. Manta was down all day, one of the employees told me during ert it was due to "someone doing something they were not supposed to be doing".....? I have no idea if that someone was a guest or an employee. But I can tell you that there was a crew working on the lift hill ALL day. Also Infinity Falls was closed for annual maintenance. I totally get that in a year round park that is going to happen but they knew 450 attendees were coming to the event, way ahead of time, did it have to be closed that day? Couldn't do the annual maintenance a week earlier? Just kind of butt hurt on that one because the only other time we were at the park was the summer it opened and we missed it by one week. Even though it was supposed to have a summer opening. And we were there the last week of July. Grrr. Whatever.

  15. Have to agree unless "desert wasteland" at SFMM and "crack house chic" at SFGAdv is considered theming.

  16. Not that you apparently are really interested but since you asked, they have a very nice horseracing museum there and there are various tours you can take. The basic one being very reasonably priced and it lets you walk under the famous grandstand that the race participants take and go into the paddock area. It is a very unique and famous venue. For what it's worth you did kind of ask for reasons to visit the area besides just the park and when a couple people gave you some ideas you crapped all over them, even though you've experienced none of them. A polite thank you or better yet "if you have nothing nice to say just say nothing policy" would have been appropriate. Not everything suggested is my cup of tea either but no reason to be mean when people have offered suggestions that you asked for. And if you won't visit CP without TTD you might be waiting a very long time. And comparing Mystic Timbers to Prowler is ridiculous and how would you know if you haven't ridden the former?

  17. I still can’t believe they wouldn’t just run all of their coasters when they only have 4. It’s just so weird…

  18. I really enjoy Lightning Racer when it's actually racing. That's the whole point of the coaster. The twister layout is perfect for that IMO, not every ride needs to be an airtime fest to be fun and enjoyable. OTOH, Wildcat is absolutely irredeemable trash. Bring on the conversion, if that's what's actually happening. That being said, I never saw the pictures of the blue footers, and when I searched for it, I found this comment on another forum from about a month ago. Is it legit? Hard to tell, anyone can claim anything with a throwaway account, but it sounds like an equally plausible possibility.

  20. Everyone likes different things. I totally get why people might prefer Magic Mountain or Great Adventure just because of their insane coaster lineups, I just never thought I'd see the day that someone told me they liked Magic Mountain because of the scenery and theming.

  21. Wildcat is terrible, rough garbage. I'd be fine with RMC. . or just bulldozing the damn thing.

  22. I want to apologize to the people I laughed at when they said Cedar Fair or Six Flags have better operations than the SEAS parks. To clarify, Mako was running 1 train with 2+ minute dispatch times (on a B&M hyper with no seat belts) and ride ops who let the train sit on the brake run a few times because they weren't paying attention. End result was a 45 minute wait when the park is nearly empty and Kraken kept flying by with 8 people in the train. Charging nearly $100 per person to watch your star coaster run 1 train with terrible dispatch times should be considered a form of larceny. Ice Breaker was a hoot but definitely a strange coaster. A couple good pops of air. And a walk on because they were actually running 2 trains and usually dispatching trains before the one before it came back. Whale show was great as always and also saw the Sea Lion and Otter show which was cute and humorous. Made my way back towards the front, riding Atlantis for the first time after a 30 minute wait. Acceptable amount of wetness in the back seat felt fantastic on a day like today, but glad I didn't sit in the front and drown on that little hill. The whole ride is actually really well done, felt like I was back at Disney. Hopped into the back on Kraken which was a walk on and this is starting to,get a bit brutal in some spots. Maybe it was the half empty train, but you can visibly see the cars shaking in some spots. The zero G was particularly brutal. It's a pretty forceful ride (though not to be confused with Kumba, Montu, or Hulk) but I can see why it's kinda becoming unpopular with the general public. Paint job looks great though. Hit Manta after a 10 minute wait or so. This has the greatest queue of any ride at any park. Super air conditioned with waterfalls at the beginning and aquariums the rest of the way. Anyway, it's a fun ride with its swooping around fountains and palm trees, what isn't fun is getting stacked on the brake run for 3+ minutes in the flying position. As much as I wanted to stay and see more shows and animals, the lack of shade on a 90 degree day after 9 straight days in the Florida heat was starting to get to us so we quit early. Other than the atrocious ops at Mako, we had a much better day there than at Busch Gardens and next time I would love to hit it early in a trip so we have more energy to see the other shows and exhibits.

  23. They will never redo wildcat because it sits in a crucial part of HP's lineup. LR will also never be redone because it too sits in a crucial part of HP's lineup. If Wildcat does get replaced it will be for a Zeirer launched family or similar. Certainly not an RMC. That area of the park has been themed to an old timey boardwalk since it's inception - wildcat literally perfectly captures that energy. LR does as well. HP treats WC like it's a historic woodie - and if they keep doing that - WC will eventually be a historic woodie . Best one could hope for is replacement of Storm Runner with an RMC launcher. Now that HP has popped their top on very similar rides in the same park Im expecting a B&M wing and B&M dive up next.
