  1. I hope they cut those trees back before I ride it. Lol, this honestly looks like an awesome ride but the animation quality is hilarious.

  2. Gravity Group has the Beast project. The drop is going to be a bit steeper and the new pre cut track will be used. All around good news! "The world’s longest wooden roller coaster, The Beast at Kings Island, is receiving 2,000 feet of track refurbishment this winter. The Gravity Group, which installed 600 feet of its new engineered precut track on the park’s Racer roller coaster last winter, is breathing new life into the ride’s first drop and through the first tunnel and turn towards the second drop and 540-degree helix tunnel, while Kings Island’s carpenters are retracking approximately 1,090 feet of track in other sections along the 7,359-foot long course. The first drop will see a change from 45 degrees to 53 degrees. This change isn’t being made to add more speed or thrill element to The Beast, but to come in lower in the tunnel to provide the proper parabolic arcs due to reprofiling of the track in that area of the ride. This change, along with The Gravity Group’s vertical track design, will deliver a buttery-smooth transition through the tunnel and onto the second drop. The Beast helix crossover will see a redesign and installation of new bents. With the redesign, the forces through the structure will be more evenly distributed to the foundation, the rigidity of each bent more consistent and therefore resulting in a smoother ride experience. The original design of The Beast had the upper and lower track in the helix on top of each other. In order to simplify the geometry of the crossover, the lower bents will be upper bents until the tunnel." https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2021/december/beast-of-a-project-this-winter-at-kings-island?fbclid=IwAR05SXIvqUyhFqpVCAx_sg_E1we7_g5PoOMpd7e6TdY2aZ6x72XHPx2kcqI

  3. WOW what a smart arse response.

  4. Typically you want all of the wheels on the track, y'know. But maybe that's just me.

  5. Haha, I largely agree. I have a sore spot for SFGAdv like you wouldn't believe. As soon as I enter the parking lot this wave of desolation just washes over me. So many unpleasant memories of my time working there...not to mention the Six Flags Experiences that I can't help but have every time I go back. El Toro, Nitro, and Ka can't really counteract that.

  6. I believe you my friend, I really do. But I ain't goin back there for a long time. 2006 was the last time for me, it was a hideous visit. So many Six Flags parks, I have written off. Somewhere between "if you ain't got anything good to say then don't go," and preferring to spend my time and money on quality places (Knoebels, Holiday World, Disneyland, Little Amerricka, Knotts for example). Keep the lines shorter for everyone else haha. Maybe if I was with a great set of friends it wouldn't matter... but naw. I wouldn't put em through my bitching. I'd be happier dropped off at the McDonald's for the day. And I don't eat McDonald's.

  7. Viper can technically run 4 trains. There are two blocks outside the station (transfer track and brakes outside the station). They never will run more than 3 though. Viper had 4 trains, gutted one for parts, and is now back to 4 thanks to inheriting one from another park that tore down their arrow looper. One is always slowly being refurbished in the cycle shop, so you will rarely see them all at the ride.

  8. Viper did indeed have 4 trains - Red, Orange, Brown, and yellow. 3 is the max that can run at one time.

  9. Yeah, car rentals out there were pretty cheap when I went in mid-December for some reason. It's funny that you mention your reasoning as going as concern that Viper or X2 would be torn down; that was almost exactly my motivation for my LA-area trip, except for me it was Montezooma at Knott's. Anyway, have fun!

  10. Now that I look more into using Uber, it looks like renting a car for the day is probably cheaper than Uber. Plus no worries about potentially getting cancelled on. Probably will go that route. All told, $60 for a car rental and $32 round trip for the flight is pretty damn good, especially since everything else about the day would be free (and WAAAAY less than I'd probably be losing in Vegas during the course of the day). Kinda sucks to be missing Tatsu and Batman among others, but I'll be back for a full LA area trip some day. I know this sounds weird, but my two biggest reasons for going right now are X2 and Viper, because if it's 5 years before I get back you just never know what might not be there.

  12. A little blurry, but I took a screenshot of how they are going to position Cheddar Chase. I’d like to make a few comments on this announcement: 1. I love the logo and the name. It’s a unique name for a Wild Mouse and the logo is pretty adorable! 2. I think the location will be good as it leaves room on that plot for a flat ride or two. I love the views that it will give of Rampage. 3. I like that it was a steel mid-level coaster to contrast Rampage and Centispeed. 4. I’m excited to see how they’ll refresh that area as well as how they’ll refresh the ride. 5. I can’t wait to see how they’ll expand that area next. I’m curious to see what those other announcements are. I can’t imagine that there will be four new flat rides added alongside this coaster. I’d have to guess there will be announcements of other infrastructure improvements to the park: maybe a new restaurant, a new game midway, etc. I think my prediction for the four other announcements will be as followed: 1. a new adult-sized flat ride, I would love to see a Music Express type ride or a Zamperla Disco or something. 2. a new restaurant or an area with games. 3. a carousel or a kid’s ride 4. a new event, whether it’s a concert, a 4th of July festival, restarting the fall time event, or a Christmas event. What all do y’all think?

  13. Hey now, Great Adventure tries too, running all trains possible on everything except Mine Train (2 out of 3 possible) and Kingda Ka (1 or 2 out of 4 possible) haha.

  15. It's because corporate hates our park so much they want to make sure we don't have another HITP event, even if it means canceling them chain-wide.
