  1. Imagine getting so worked up about one SF park not getting shiny new rides. Dude, you live literally in the center of the country and within a day's drive or two hour flight of nearly every park east of the Mississippi. Go somewhere else.

  2. I made two more loaves of Jalapeno-Cheese Bread yesterday. One loaf for us, and the other for our great neighbours next door, Liz and Terry. They loved it more than the 5 Seeds loaf I gave them before! And ours turned out great, too. Except I forgot to add the grated parmesan into it. So I decided to try something out, and sprinkled the cheese on top of the loaf, before baking it. Turns out, parmesan cheese BURNS. Period. Thankfully, the stuff didn't burst into flames and cause a kitchen fire, lol. The first loaf with burned parmesan on top. The second loaf is behind, going through it's first rise. Second loaf. Much better with the parmesan inside the bread. Side by side. Now which loaf would you pick to have? Our loaf, cut to show the cheese and pieces of jalapeno in there. Great bread, even with burned parmesan on top.

  4. As much as I saw the park ambulance running around I bet they spent more on picking up people from passing out in the heat walking 10 miles around the park since they can't staff the sky ride or train properly Staff the necessary transportation rides so you don't have to suffer in the heat.

  6. That was their point; SFStL has continued to receive minor improvements/additions over the past decade while Worlds of Fun has gotten a Windseeker, a mat racer for the water park, and some hand-me-down flats. Hell, in 2012 their big addition was Fast Lane and in 2013 it was combining admission for the rides and water park. Dude, don't even bother. These people are so lost in their "it can't possibly be that the park turns a solid profit with what it is, corporate has to hate us for not giving us that 500 foot launched B&M flyer aquatrax" that any attempt at logic just goes in one ear and out the other.

  7. New construction is now being reported behind Fireman's Landing. Walls are up for a likely project debuting in 2023. Probably the rumored replacement to Fire In The Hole as alluded to a few posts back.

  8. They had to turn the cameras off because the trucks with track for the 500-footer have arrived, duh.

  9. It doesn't. The second train is held back and doesn't even enter the loading area until the other train is over the first hill. I find that post suspect and it is not showing up on any local news outlets which normally happens when there is a park accident of significance. Show us the video of the crash so we can see what happened.

  10. Alpengeist, Invadr, and Griffon are all great rides despite not looking like much. It's unfortunate you missed out on them. Taking two rides on Nessie over those? Questionable decision indeed... lol. Sounds like Quick Queue was needed that day. I agree Busch food isn't really that great anymore in general. The smokehouse was always hit or miss for me at all the SEAS parks. Glad you had a decent trip, but I really think you missed out on more than you think you did. Like you said, next time!

  11. Awful. What's especially wild to me is that during all that time that no one else riding with her noticed either. its clearly operator error, but her parent/guardian/whoever was sitting next to her didn't notice either?

  12. Gold Striker at CGA! I really only look at the stats about once a year for the TPR poll etc. Over 50 parks and 300 coasters and I still haven't been to Magic Mountain and Great Adventure or even Everest I have a lot of work to do.

  13. There must be cameras and the ride ops and other guests know if she was scared and trying to get out or not. The argument will be should the restraint have been enough to stop someone from trying to get out. And that's a worrying part of our litigious society. If all restraints have to become Saw Traps to prevent people who want to get out from getting out we will have a problem.

  14. Six year old girl? Ooof. That's really horrible. No matter if it's an accident or a pre-existing condition, that's just rough. Hope we hear more soon on what the cause was.

  16. More info has been release and, well, it's seeming more likely that the young girl was thrown from the ride. https://denver.cbslocal.com/2021/09/06/glenwood-springs-caverns-adventure-park-haunted-mine-drop-death/ Edit - Added another source - https://kdvr.com/news/local/glenwood-caverns-death-dispatch-audio/
