I'm not sure we'd see much discussion anyway I think even at the best of times western forums are an echo chamber and there is never normally that much discussion about parks in the east compared to those in America. International borders are closed, Osaka is still in a state of emergency, the land isn't even officially opened and so I am not sure from where else we'd be hearing about it. East rarely meets west in the world of enthusiasts and the few Japanese forums/channels I follow seem to be loving the land. I can't bring myself to ignore all that and dismiss the land as a wet fart.

Got two very nice phone calls, earlier today... The first one was from one of the main board members of our annual Vancouver Queer Film Fest, Out On Screen. They got my Holiday Donation and just wanted to thank me for my continued support. Which was nice to hear. They also got a kick out of the "Cats In Wigs" card I sent the cheque in, heh. Made them have a good laugh, and whoever opened it, photo-ed the card and sent it on to other board members. Cool! The second call was from across Canada, in Toronto, from someone with The ArQuives, which is our national LGBQT2+ archives and history place. I sent them a cheque in the New Year, so this was another call thanking me. We ended up chatting about a lot of Vancouver queer history stuff, including my and David's involvement with (original) Gay Radio (1978) in the city, and we were two of the original Board Members for our just-formed Community Centre in1980 ... and other things David and I have both been involved, together and separately. From the mid-1970s to the late 1990's. They were both lovely phone calls. Made my whole day, today.

So, since we have had to reschedule Texas coaster trips for covid. And snowstorms. And then park closures/power outages/water problems. We are going to do something kind of crazy when the park is open during the week of March 15th. On that Tuesday the 16th we are going to hop an early flight, go right from the airport to the park, do the day, crash at a hotel and get up early the next morning to fly home and take the boy right to school. Any suggestions on a unique local breakfast joint between Love Field and the park? If not any old I-Hop or Waffle House will do but though I would ask.

Good to see that RMC are improving upon the restraint system. Thankfully now, it looks like those harnesses were *almost* designed to be used by humans. That *is* an improvement in comparison to the first design. Also, the stripes on the front of each car do look very nice, I must say.

Just so you all know and for future reference. Customer service responded in a couple days to my email and immediately refunded my quick queues. Since the tickets that I bought a year ago are about to expire, but under the current weird circumstances, and because we will probably visit sometime in April or May as well as I now know we will be in FL in Dec and go to SWO and BGT; I asked if there was any way to upgrade to season passes without actually being in the park. I was asked to email copies of my tickets and they are "looking into it" So......part 2 to be continued.

my only input is that it's SUPPOSED to feel like it could be dangerous, but I've never felt unsafe on it. and tho they do stop it in cases of high wind (which happens a LOT), even on calmer days, the seats sometimes do that "flip around" thing, just from the spinning motion of the ride (and it's always a bit windy up there). it's a fun ride.

Yeah, I took NickUni. Gonna fill out the job application in May. One problem is that I will NOT ride Shellraiser during breaks, because I am literally TERRIFIED of the 121.5 degree drop (even if it's less intense than El Toro's) and I DON'T WANT TO GET OVER IT. I would only ride it if Rorie D. Travis (Devon from Power Rangers Beast Morphers, which is a Nick show) were there with me. That's for another topic, though. I guess I will just have to quote SpongeBob, as it is my only favorite Nick show (well, sometimes Rocko too.) I CAN sing the campfire song over the all call like someone did on The Dark Knight at SFGAdv (while doped up on painkillers)...

I don't think that there's anything that I missed out on that I care all that much that I missed out on. I never went to Clementon Park even though it's pretty close but I mean... eh. I've never been to Kennywood and I guess I sort of wish I went sooner as they f*ck it up more and more every year. That's basically it. ... oh! And one time I missed the opportunity to spend a day exploring Montreal because I was at La Ronde like a dipsh*t. That one hurts.

Really surprised and impressed with how Skyrush landed this year. It 100% deserves its spot up there, a gem unlike any other.

OMG! Don't give Merlin any ideas!!! We're going to see all kinds of new merchandise next year with Nemesis at the world's tallest coaster!!! LOL!!!
