Incognito Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 "Sorry folks! The park's closed! The moose should have told you out front!" That was my first thought about this park. But when I first looked at the entrance to the park, I was wondering why it looked a lot like a concentration camp.
Wonka Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I was just reading a post on another site linked to this which said: "It looks like it has been abandoned for years and some random guy decided one day to stand at the entrance and ask pople to pay to get in" (which is likely due to the fact that he was always raising his price) In my opinion, that may be what happened, a bunch of guys went there, saw that a couple of rides were still operational, despite the fact that the park is abandoned and started charging people. It was brave of you to go in
disneymoc Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 From Screamscape: One of our readers returned not long ago from a trip to Egypt where they took the opportunity to visit Fantazyland which has got to be the absolute worst theme park in the world plus a quick look at a small fairground called Sendebad Star which was just as bad. They’ve posted photos and a review of the experience and photos to this website, TheBottomOfTheBill.com.
dubaidave Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 ^ Yeah just seen that. It actually looks a bit nicer now. The lake has been drained and the dodgems put back on their wheels.
kamikazewatermelon Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 ^ wouldn't draining the lake make the park look worse?
BarryH Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 ^Draining the lake may help alleviate the malaria problem.
dubaidave Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 This might help you decide on the lake issue. After After Before Before
Cygnus12 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Definately 'better' without the water. Would it kill them to at least move the tires out of there?
cycamps Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I honestly can't believe a place like that could stay open. It looked like none of the rides were open, and they looked very unsafe. They must have MUCH lower standards over there.

coolhandluke Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 ^Yeah, and I don't think it'd be too hard to "stay open" when you don't waste much money on operations (or anything for that matter). Something tells me that these guys aren't needing a few million dollars for their new B&M Invert next year.
SharkTums Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 ^^Add On to the TPR Dubai Trip perhaps?!?!
ECZenith Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 OMG... I just saw the "lake" photos for the first time. Working at Disneyland, this almost brings a tear to the eye... Yikes.
MiAdventureMan87 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Looks worse than Geauga Lake! (Too soon?)
Noxegon Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I'm actually expecting to be there next Sunday - so I'll post an updated photo TR shortly afterwards
downunder Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 ^^Add On to the TPR Dubai Trip perhaps?!?! How much will that cost, your life?
Noxegon Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Right folks, I was at Fantazy Land today. First off, the park is nowhere near as ghetto as the photographs from the original poster would have you believe. My instinct is that they've made a major effort to clean the place up over the last few years. It's still a low budget affair, don't get me wrong, but it was certainly not the worst in Egypt; more to follow on that one. The lagoon area appears to be history, FWIW - we saw the remnants of a pirate ship and a general boneyard off to one side in a closed off area. The remainder of the park, however - though perhaps lacking in a little paint - was actually not bad at all. The staff were extremely friendly, and helpful - and they let us ride the coaster, despite it normally being for children only. The park was largely deserted today; we got the definite sense that had it been busy this would not have been allowed. I feel obliged to note this in case anyone else is enough of a credit whore to make the six hour round trip from Cairo! More pictures will follow when I've had a chance to sort them, but for now, just the one: Yes, we really did make it there.
Mechanic Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 It looks like the major effort to clean the place up didn't extend to that sign you're standing in front of for the picture, eh?
Noxegon Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 As I said in my post, it's a low budget affair and clearly so. However, either the original poster was selective about the pictures posted or it has improved significantly over the last few years; I'm inclined to believe the latter. There isn't a lot of money in this part of the world, but we got a definite sense that the park was trying to make the very best of what little they have.
Noxegon Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I'm preparing just under one hundred and fifty photographs of nine Egyptian parks for my web site, and while I'm not finished yet, attached is a preview of the Fantazy Land page. As this should hopefully show, the park is actually pretty nice; its only major problem is a lack of funds, but they clearly do what they can. Will be online in a few days
redpen Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I had heard that there was a kiddie credit at a place called Fantazy Land but could not find anyone who had been there. Anyway We finally found the park and it was the worst run park I have ever been to. organisme de credit
