dstephe9 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Yeah dollywood is just pushing their qbot.. Not a big deal as Dollywood hardly ever sales many on a daily basis anyways.. This will just bring their qbot system up to par with other amusement parks that sale hundreds a day
coasterfreaky Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Here's a few updates I have recently found online... 1) Google updated their map of Dollywood. Looks like it was from last fall, probably in October because River Battle is drained, but the other water rides are in operation and the trees do not have their fall colors on them. Check it out. 2) There's an announcement planned on passholder day. Sneak Preview Friday, March 20! Dollywood opens exclusively to season passholders on Friday, March 20! Join Dolly as she kicks off the 30th anniversary season with a special Festival of Nations showcase in D.P.’s Celebrity Theater, and receive a FREE 30th anniversary commemorative mug while supplies last. Theater doors open at 9:45 a.m. for this free event. Don’t miss Dolly’s exciting announcement! Make sure to arrive early, limited theatre seating available. 3) Someone posted this to a Knoxville-related facebook page i'm a member of. It's 8mm footage of Rebel Railroad, and a trip onboard #197. You can see a lot of what is now "The Village" area of DW. Ride the train to the fortress! You can find that here: https://vimeo.com/119055278 Fire Chaser Express, October 2014, google maps Parking lot expansion, or "Hub" construction?? DreamMore Resort construction, Oct. 2014
jimmiemac02 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 ^Where was that announcement posted and is it open to season pass holders or is it only for media? I know the park opens at 10 that day so do they let people in early?
dstephe9 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Park opens at 10 meaning the front gates will probably be open around 9:30 - 9:45 so there should be no issue getting into the theater.. Front gates always open before the park does
coasterfreaky Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 ^Where was that announcement posted and is it open to season pass holders or is it only for media? I know the park opens at 10 that day so do they let people in early? It was in an email I received from DW yesterday 3/5 - subject: Your March Season Pass Exclusive News
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 It's a pass holder preview thing. The park and the event will only be open to season pass holders.
jimmiemac02 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I got the email...I guess I didn't scroll all the way down. Thanks guys!
dstephe9 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Blah renewed my season pass last night and I guess BC everyone was afraid prices would go up the Dollywood website was horrible slow. It was a very frustrating experience.. I always renew online and never had this issue!! Took longer to renew online then it would have waiting in line
coasterfreaky Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 ^I've had issues the past two years. I complete all the necessary fields of information, and then I get to the end of it all, and I can't add the pass to the cart to checkout. I called and told them about it, but apparently i'm the only one on the planet with that issue, according to how surprised they were about it...lol. Yes it was frustrating.
dstephe9 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Nope that's the same exact issue I had the first two times.. It said I had no passes in my cart after it took forever to pull up the pass info and after I typed all payment info and everything haha It's like the site was timing out and forgetting it all But what's weird is over on the side it showed my passes and I already signed all the easy2play agreements that showed my monthly payment and all so the passes where in there at some point hahaha
maverickpoint Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I would love to see something like expedition geforce go in for 2016. That whole mountain they can do a lot with.
maverickpoint Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Only a launched version as we have pretty much figured out it will be a launch coaster.
coasterknutt Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hello everyone! I have to say this before I say anything else.... If you been on any other sites you may know my screen name, I went by Coastercraze OR Chris A later on. With that said I do have some new that maybe of interest... As of a couple of days ago Dollywood's facebook has been "taken over" by their DreamMore Resort folks and they are saying they are going to make a huge announcemant TOMORROW! So this maybe be a earlier opening day or something else! Thoughts!?
dstephe9 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Looks like the announcement was booking.. You can now book rooms! However the site wasn't working well for me a few hours ago when I clicked show available days.. Nothing was showing.. Might get curious again and try later haha
Dollywoodlover20 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Hello everyone, I am a new user here BUT I have been following this thread for a while. I was a user over at Thrillnetwork under Dollywoodlover1. Anyway, even though DreamMore announced that they are open for booking, I did read somewhere that Dollywood will be holding an event on the 20th of this month to Season Passholders only, where Dolly herself will be making a very big and special announcement. What else could the announcement be? Could this be the coaster announcement? Odd timing but she's at the park during that time, it's their 30th anniversary kick off, and what better way to create more buzz about the season and park.
maverickpoint Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I did read somewhere that Dollywood will be holding an event on the 20th of this month to Season Passholders only Thanks for the info. I am also a huge Dollywood fan. I can't wait to hear what the new announcement is.
ernierocker Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 It does seem a tad early to announce the 2016 attraction, but I can't imagine what else it would be for. Either way, TPR will be there!
coasterfreaky Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 It sounds to me like Q2Q is out, and TimeSaver is in now for Dollywood and Splash Country. TimeSaver If I recall, they've been using TimeSaver at Splash Country for some time now, but I've not used it personally, so I can't speak about it. According to the description it sounds very similar to Q2Q. Reserve Shows at the Reservation Center, and Reserve Rides from anywhere in the park. $25 charge per person - I think that's more than Q2Q's pricing.
jimmiemac02 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I think TimeSaver and Q2Q are basically the same thing, they just changed the name. I have used it at DSC and it was really nice and efficient to use. Both the Qbot (what Dollywood has) and the Qband (what DSC has) are made by the same company accesso: http://accesso.com/loqueue-overview/q-band/
coasterfreaky Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 ^Cool, thanks for the info. I guess moving to one name for the same thing will make it be more consistent.
dstephe9 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Timesaver is better marketing than q2q.. Its easier for someone to think speed if they hear timesaver.. Just like flashpass in six flags.. If I hear q2q I don't think of line jumping or anything
coasterbill Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I always thought Q2Q was a terrible name. When people see "Q2Q" that doesn't give them any indication of what the device actually does or why they'd want it.
