acp Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 So to see our complete Blackpool update from this weekend, click here:http://www.themeparkreview.com/miniuk2005/bpb1.htm Excellent trip report acp.
Nrthwnd Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ^ ^And which one was it, anyway? They all look like they're having a "Who, me?" Kind-of Guilt Moment, lol. That, or a 'WAHDDDYAF---INTHINKYOURLOOKIN'AT..." One or the other, heh heh. Loved the Crazy Mouse vid with Tom, there. And I think that one 'try' on one of these things will be quite sufficient for myself, thinks.
robbalvey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 What exactly did that girl do to hold up the line for 30 minutes, was she making a British Porn? I wish! Actually, it wasn't really her fault, but her lap bar got stuck, like REALLY stuck to the point where maintenance had to come out. But she did CHOOSE that seat...and it was the seat that *I* was supposed to sit in on the next train! Grrr... I will say, though, the crew did an excellent job of keeping everyone informed, and even unloaded the train on the brake run so "people wouldn't be stuck outside in the cold." Then they gave the stuck chick and her friends a bonus ride in the front row!!! It was a break-down situation handled VERY well. And yeah, not her fault, but dammit, we were the next ones to get on the train! --Robb "Who didn't get stuck in that exact same seat" Alvey
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 OH MY GODDDDDDD! SPINNNNNNNNN! AHHHHHHHHHHH! LMMFAO!
Token Yankee Guy Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 US parks, take note! UK has parks open, Japan has parks open.....why aren't US parks open during the winter? Because of the below freezing temperatures and the large amounts of snow we get? Plus we're americans, and we like to complain a lot. At least I'll start my coaster season this weekend.
DerekRx Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ^Yeah it was a BRUTAL winter! I mean, with that storm a few weeks ago dropping like 15 inches, that brought our winter snow total to....15 inches! Below freezing temperatures too, because its NOT like snowing and freezing over in England right now, whereas here they want temps near 70 come next Saturday.
robbalvey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ^ Yeah, man. And those parks like...SFOG for example, oh yeah, they were all hit with those below zero temps! Craig. We're not saying that EVERY SINGLE PARK IN THE COUNTRY should be open, heck, not every single park in Europe or Japan were open either, but there certainly ARE some parks that *could* open year round if they wanted to. --Robb
Ed Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 "Since Lou wasn't here today....." ... I'll be there tomorrow!! Not that I'll be kissing anybody... Aww screw it, you know what I mean. I've just had a rather interesting phone call from Tom. Expect: -Champagne -Pizza Hut Ice Cream -Bed Cracks -Elissa licking herself -Robb rubbing tom's thighs... UPDATE DOES NOT DELIVER!! If I don't see Tom being abused by Robb tomorrow... There'll be trouble. Great pics as always, glad you guys had fun! =o I know! I expect the Big Blue hotel doesn't approve of them taking pictures of lude activities.. Ugh that queue for Big Dipper is SO much smaller than it was last weekend.. http://www.blackpoolcomesto.com/index.htm You have to laugh at the rides they've used to advertise it.. Crazy Mouse time tonight!
Hattuchili Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Those are all great pictures! I am really a bit sad, that I can not go on the UK-Trip! --Sören
SteveC Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Yeah - great to see photos of Bling in action. I only whinge because the last three times I have been to BPB Bling has been, well ....not Blinging! Let's hope this is a good omen for my next visit
robbalvey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hey everyone! We just got back from Flamingoland where we got to walk the construction site of their new *GIANT* Vekoma SLC!!! We'll have a full update later of our Kumali construction tour including a VIDEO, but here are a few pics to hold you over until we get back from tonight's fair.... The highlight of the day was hanging out with the Vekoma guys for a couple of hours while they showed us videos of evil stuff like Tilt Coasters and other insane creations!!! Another shot of Kumali's "Inversion Buffet." We're told the ride will be as "smooth as a baby's bottom!" Here is Elissa at the top of the lift hill....."I don't like how it's shaking!" Kumali is a custom *GIANT* SLC which will take these four inversions at a RAPID pace. Don't we look hot in our Kumali "Construction Costume?"
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I'm confused. What is so giant about it? Is it larger than other SLCs? I couldn't tell from the pictures. Guy "Is my perspective off?" Koepp
Dr Banner Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I'll tell you what, it doesn't snow in Blackpool for 3 years and then you guys come over and we've had it non stop since Friday. Come back for a week next time and I might get the day off college. I you're gonna be in Blackpool for longer you should definatly check out the Sandcastle's new Master Blaster and you can't come to Blackpool without going up the Tower.
robbalvey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I'm confused. What is so giant about it? Is it larger than other SLCs? I couldn't tell from the pictures. Guy "Is my perspective off?" Koepp This one is like 120 feet tall and has crazy inversions!!! To be fair, though, this is the third one of this model that has been built, but the other two are in China. --Robb "Most other SLC's are around 100 feet tall." Alvey
CoasterCrazy Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Great Pictures! The SLC looks like fun, aren't we going to Flamingoland in June?
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ^^Thanks for clearing that up. Smooth as a babys bare ass huh? Guy "An SLC smooth? I'll need to ride it to believe it." Koepp

robbalvey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ^ Don't forget us and like 40 others from TPR will be at TusenFryd in June! --Robb "Off to the fair with Lou, Tom, and Ed now!" Alvey
viking86 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I wont be able to make it to Tusenfryd in June. I'll be busy finishing school and stuff at that time
