coaster_maniac
So basically I'm just about as obsessed with Zelda games as I am with roller coasters.. I know, I know.. it's kinda crazy. So basically I'm just checking to see who else is a fan of the game series? What's your favorite game? How many have you played? Does anyone else already have the new game (Twilight Princess) preordered? Basically, let's declare this topic the official "Everything Zelda" topic.. yeah? Ready? GO! darklingscribe
Yes I like the Legend of Zelda games but I can't really say I'm fanatical about them. I do have the next one preordered but am starting to wonder if Nintendo isn't simply going to bump it up to being released on the Revolution (something I preordered as well) so that their new system will have a killer app for launch. My Favorite? Well I have two. I'll always love Link to the Past (SNES) as it was the game that introduced me into the series, however The Legend of Zelda I had the most emotional involvement in while playing was Majora's Mask. Blazen_AZN
I love the series, Twilight Princess looks Awsome. Funny thing, too, just today i was thinking about pre-ordering it. Nintendo said it was DEFINATELY coming out for the Gamecube, because they made a promise to the fans that it would. I think it would be a much better buisness decision to launch it with the Revolution to give it a great killer app, but i can see why they arn't. Having said that, there have been some pretty convincing rumors about nintendo adding exclusive Revoluition content to the game. Mainly, if you play LOZ:TP on the revolution, you could control link with the system's controller. That would be awsome, especially after seeing the video of the controller unviel. at the end of it they had a guy playing game with swords, looked pretty damn fun to me. Yeah, I've been reading up on all those rumors too.. and yeah it would be awesome to have that controller! Think of all the opportunities! hehe.. but yeah it looks like an amazing game. I can't wait until April. my favorite of the games is definitely Ocarina of Time.. but as darlkingscribe said.. Majora's Mask definitely has a special place on my favorites list. It has what I consider to be the best level in any Zelda game--the Stone Tower Temple ( + the entire Ikana Canyon area).. I love it!
stingrock23
I've really only played the first Zelda. I liked it so much, I bough a gamecube because it came with it.
Hattuchili
I like the Zelda games. I started with "A Link to the Past", next "Link's Awakening", then "Ocarina of Time", "A Link to the Past + Four Swords" and the last one was "The Wind Waker"! I really like the story around the game and that you have to think about what you are doing! --Sören
Angry_Gumball
Let's just say, LoZ addiction is bad enough when you name your dog 'Zelda.' I love LoZ games, as my favorite was Ocarina of Time.
Erik Johnson
I own the following Zelda games..and yes I played them as they came out (hey I'm old) The Legend of Zelda (NES) Zelda II: The Adventures of Link (NES--remember the chip shortage?) Zelda 3: Link to the Past (SNES) MY personal favorite Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64) Zelda: Wind Waker (NGC) Zelda: Four Swords (NGC) And both special edition Gamecube games (Ocarina of Time, and the Zelda 1, 2, Time and Mask. dragoncoaster1292
The only Zelda game I own is Wind Waker, which got me hooked forever on the games. I also love Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. I am currently extremely ashamed of myself for not playing the original yet
Carnage
Link to the Past is one of my all time favourites. I've always been a fan of the series. Though I hated Wind Waker. It just bored the crap out of me. Not enough action, and too much sailing. I didn't even finish it because I couldn't stand it.
coaster_maniac
I agree.. wind waker has FAR too much sailing.. BUT.. it adds some great twists to the overall story of all the games!
Slacking
I skipped the N64 games, but I enjoy the rest. That being said, I absolutely loved the original "The Legend of Zelda" for the NES!! Honestly, that game blew all expectations for me about what a video game could be. I also remember hanging out in the basement of a friend's house with all the neighborhood kids playing zelda together and trying to beat it (sure, it was a 1-player game, but it was the only house at the time with a NES, fortunately I got one for my birthday shortly afterwards)
YoshiFan
I have the original game for NES and OoT for N64. The original is my favorite game. I tried to like OoT but I got really tired of the game about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way through the game because it was so tedious. Go into a temple, solve a puzzle that is fusturating, defeat the boss and repeat over and over again.
Kenny
Link to the Past is one of my all time favourites. I've always been a fan of the series. Though I hated Wind Waker. It just bored the crap out of me. Not enough action, and too much sailing. I didn't even finish it because I couldn't stand it. FINISH IT! I promise you will enjoy the time and work and boringness of sailing to play it to the end. Seriously. Or get and Action Replay and get all the treasure maps or hell give yourself all the shards. It really is one of the better Zelda games if you look beyond the sailing.
coasterzak
Umm, hi, I love Zelda! How about right now I'm in the middle of the Master Quest, I just played Link the other day, I have all the videos and pics of the new game that you sent me, my friend just bought a new old NES (does that make sense?) so now we are playing OLD SCHOOL Zelda. Good times! I think my favorite is OoT or A Link to the Past. Great games, can't wait to play the new one. PS, you seem like you have a lot in common with me - will you be my roommate next year in college?

I might get around to it somethime. I'd have to re-hook up my GC again though. I was pretty let down by the system overall. Metroid is another one that really let me down. Just couldn't take the fact that it was a free roaming rail shooter.
Blazen_AZN
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS was just announced earlier today. It features a cross between the top-down and 3D cameras from past LOZ games. The game is in 3D and retains the cel-shaded artstyle from the Windwaker. Before you start b!thcing about hou you hate how "kiddy" is looks (i personally like it), remember, it is a very good decision for the handheld version. The celshaded look requires less complicated textures then a realistic version would. It would also get rid of the "pixilated" look some games on the DS have... Angry_Gumball
Another "Legend of Cel-da" game...actually, the Cel-shading I find quite unique. I know many people don't like the cel shading but I think it's cool and different. Currently, I'm playing Minish Cap. It's pretty cool so far although I'm stuck in the swamp land area. Timpowes
^ I'm playing that aswell =o I'm stuck at the final boss. It's so annoying ^^ I like the look on the new Zelda game too! (= I hope they finish the game fast, so I can play it (=
Teddymonster
My favorite Zelda game Link to the Past, closely followed by Ocarina of Time. I didn't even bother Majora's Mask, as I think the fact that the game is timed is just a cheap way to make the damn thing even harder. I can't wait to try out Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass. Thats what I thought about it as well untill I picked up the game used and was totally blown away by it. The timed nature of it is not that pressing. It never made the game harder for me. Especially since as the game goes on you learn melodies that can control the passing of time i.e. make it slower or faster. NEVER EVER dismiss a Legend of Zelda game made by Nintendo out of hand. Angry_Gumball
I'm so hooked on video games that I just had to name my dog Zelda, as mentioned before...Meet Zelda! (I know, that should be in the pets thread but she's an exception as she's named Zelda...hopefully I don't get sued for naming my dog a copyrighted name by some silly person!) woof!
