waterviper Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 OTSR'S, MCBR I dont care!!!!!!!! I say REVOLUTION!!!! It's still a classic worth it's weight in Gold!!! Mike"will always look forward to watching Rollercoaster (the movie) and National Lampoons Vacation just to see the Revolution!!" Black
larrygator Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 X - yes, it was open and I thoroughly enjoyed it
ShoubraStreet74 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Batman: The Ride Colossus Viper Psyclone Goliath Scream Psyclone makes the list but Riddler's Revenge doesn't? WOW
Twister II Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Batman: The Ride Colossus Viper Psyclone Goliath Scream Psyclone makes the list but Riddler's Revenge doesn't? WOW It just didn't impress me at all. I mean, the layout and themeing were great, but eh, it just didn't do it.
mummyjohn Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I enjoy just about every coaster at Magic Mountain, they are each really unique. Unfortunately, Revolution was closed when I was there because of Tatsu construction, Psyclone was closed, and [go figure] Deja Vu. I have heard that they've butchered Revvy. But Schwarzkopf coasters don't need OSTR'S - they're made that way. I mean look at the shuttle loop. Montezooma's revenge, at KBF, is a looping coaster, with just lap bars. But my list: 1. Batman 2. Scream 3. X 4. Riddler's Revenge And, next time I go, I'm sure Tatsu will be no. one on the list. P.S. It'd be cool if they have another sleepover/media day thing if they fix up Flashback, which I'm begging for.
TheMan Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 well now that Tatsu is open I would say 1.Tatsu 2.X 3.Goliath 4Deja Vu 5.The Riddler's Revenge 6.Scream! 7.Viper 8.Batman: The Ride 9.Superman: The Escape 10. Revolution 11.Collossus 12.Flashback 13.Psyclone
Jhcbiinoc Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 1. X-I have not found a coaster that still thrills me as much as this one; the first drop alone does it for me but I enjoy the whole ride. Still my favorite at SFMM, and anywhere for that matter. Front seat on this is still IMHO worth a long wait. 2. Tatsu-Replaced Scream as my 2nd favorite at SFMM very quickly after a few rides. I can honestly not find one flaw with this ride; smooth, thrilling, combines large "floating" inversions with intense forces. I would not be a bit surprised if this makes a lot of top ten lists. 3. Scream-Even though I wish they would landscape the parking lot, it doesn't kill the ride for me. Fun with moments of intensity (especially the Zero G Roll!) and usually little to no waiting.
Loser_nerd Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Honestly its between goliath and psyclone. Mainly psyclone because its a good ride, if you dont lean back, and it never has a line. Im a sucker for multiple re rides, with out getting up.
mummyjohn Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Im a sucker for multiple re rides, with out getting up. One time I rode Xcelerator 18 times in a row without getting out, except to switch seats every so often. On two of them, one of my friends finished his Dippin' Dots on the ride.
Slessie Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I have heard that they've butchered Revvy. But Schwarzkopf coasters don't need OSTR'S - they're made that way. I mean look at the shuttle loop. Montezooma's revenge, at KBF, is a looping coaster, with just lap bars. As I remember Montezooma's revenge at KBF doesn't have lap bars just seat belts
jALIg Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 i didnt get to try everyone while i was there but frim what i tried i must say: Deja vù (that was was just extreme like nothing else i have tried!) Riddlers (still a uniqe experience for me) Scream (jeah i know it probably is the ugliest and least thinked-thru coaster ever made but i have a special love for those floors ust disapearing benath my feet:=D Goliath, Batman was good but a little bit to short:) And for Superman is didnt get much of it cos i was i my own thoughts when it launched and suddenly i was at the top. It is almost to quick to be a coster its more like a extreme thrill ride for me. And of course Cyclone which for my sake is the worst coaster i have ever been on! Slow trimmed down rough like hell and simply painfull. Still a good park except from that i would never hire any of those people where on my job. I dunno wether they are concentrating or drugged but if you look into their eyes i think youl fin emptyness at leat of those i saw. Magic Mountain Ride Zoombies. magick mountain is seeking persons for operating a ride you must be able of the following: *long hours on your fett *have an empty look *give the slow dispatch of trains your full prioity and make sure you take your time *do not respond to questions from guests *talk to guests like they are your arch enemy at least that was my experience of the park and the other departments wasnt better including guest relations. One good thing was that the day i was there then everything was walk on. And they even threw in a season pass thats like perfect since i live 4000km away
TheMan Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 ^The last few times I've been to Magic Mountain (i've been there around 8 times since January) The employees actually have been A LOt better, they still do that 1 train damn operation, but they've been a lot friendlier to say the least, basicly since Shapiro has been there.
mummyjohn Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 When I was there, X was operating in true Six Flags style...one train, and it took an average of 6 minutes per train. The number they give is 1600 riders per hour, I believe. At the rate we were there, they were going 280 riders per hour! The only ride in the park with two trains was Riddler, and so naturally it had no line - I literally walked onto the front seat! It was a weekday in April this year, so naturally the entire place was fairly un-crowded, but even then I waited for over three quarters of an hour for X. I just can't wait to ride Tatsu. That's probably the ride I want to ride the most of the great rides I haven't yet been on (that and Kumba). Though there were some more trains for Scream sitting there near the station, still in packaging (Saran wrap it appeared to be). So, that's good news, and everything Shapiro's been talking about sounds good. He never wants people to come to the Mountain and end up with 4 rides closed, even though they're advertized as "16 (now 17, but without Flashback...) World Class Coasters."
Beate's Freak Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 The exit Seriously now, I think my favorite SFMM coaster is probably inbetween X and Flashback (seriously)... Although - excluding X - SFMM's collection isn't all that impressive. OMG!! What are you talking about without X you still have the arguebly the best Stand-Up, arguably the best Suspended, a great inverted, a giant inverted boomerang that scares the crap outa me, a great hyper(with a killer helix), one of the best terrain rides ever (including the first sucessful loop), a classic arrow 7-looper, and oh yeah AN AWESOME FLYER!!
Mr Stratosphere Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I would have to vote for Samauri Summit lol. I believe SFMM has an awesome collection of rides. Here are my favorite rides in order at SFMM X Tatsu Riddler's Revenge Goliath DeJaVu Scream! Viper Batman Revolution Gold Rusher Psyclone Flashback
ECZenith Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Being a B&M fanboy... most definately Tatsu, it's a work of art. X gets silver for it's originality and holy sh*t factor, though.
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 #1- Tatsu #2- Deja Vu #3- Batman I like all the others too(except Psyclone), but these are my top three.
thomas2 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Though I've never been to SFMM, my vote goes to X, since it's "something else than the others". But for me all the rides at SFMM look great!!! (even colossus )
hotchachie Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 wrebbit, I have to admit I thought it was funny that you have a favorite ride at a park you haven't visited BUT I went to SFMM yesterday and rode everything, and you are RIGHT ON!! X was the favorite of me and my whole group...even better than Tatsu. I hope you get to visit soon! My top 3: 1. X 2. Riddler's Revenge 3. Tatsu The first time I rode Tatsu, it took 2 hours with a FLASHPASS! Best believe we were all upset. The second time, the wait with FP was only 10 minutes. Also, can anyone tell me what a "Raven Turn" is?
waterviper Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 As I remember Montezooma's revenge at KBF doesn't have lap bars just seat belts Sorry but you remembered wrong! Yes they have lap bars! It's downright ludicrous to think of only having seatbelts with no lapbars for any coaster with any inversions!! On two of them, one of my friends finished his Dippin' Dots on the ride. They would never on this green earth would allow any food on the rides!!
Joker Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 My Favorite coasters At sfmm are #1.Tatsu #2.Scream #3.Ridler's Revenge #4.Batman the Ride
major bummer Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 1. TATSU (50 times) 2.Goliath(best night coaster)( ) 3.Riddlers Revenge(Mega B&M Stand-up) 4.X(A work of Arrow art) 5.Batman(G force) 6.Scream(all around fun) 7.Goldrusher(Old School) 8.Collossos(Backwards) 9. Superman(one-of-a-kind)
