robbalvey Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Is anyone here OTHER than Benzo having problems viewing photos while using Firefox? --Robb
Canadmos Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I always have. Part of the reason I have went back to using IE.
DenDen Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Firefox has a feature on it that blocks images hosted on 3rd party servers. So if someone posts an avatar or image in a message NOT hosted on TPR, it will not show.
kenshinmac Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Hmm? I haven't had any problems ever... Well other than when you posted that the server went down. I have always used Firefox for this site too...
dougr Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Is anyone here OTHER than Benzo having problems viewing photos while using Firefox? --Robb What version? They just came out with 1.5. Check Edit->Preferences->Web Features->Load Images Check your exceptions, themeparkreview.com might be there.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I have always viewed this site with Firefox (1.0.7) and have not had any problems.
robbalvey Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Ok, so am I to assume that if people are having problems with FireFox it is based on their browser settings and NOT an issue with the site? --Robb
DenDen Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 ^ That assumption is correct Master. Though, the chat doesn't work with Opera, it's no big deal, nobody else uses it.
ParkTrips Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Yea 1.5 is a great "update" I forgot what I did but I WAS able to work chat in opera... though it still acted weird sometimes..
DenDen Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I'm downloading 1.5 now, i hope they solved the disappearing favorites bug.
Wackyboxer Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I've been using Firefox for several months now and I haven't had any trouble viewing anything on TPR.
Teddymonster Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I used FF and I've never had a problem...
shepp Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 No problems for me, either. A number of extensions and themes won't work in 1.5, though, so if any of them are vitally important to you, check it out before updrading.
Scaparri Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I also always use firefox and have never had a problem.
CoasterCrazy Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I have never had a problem and I always use FireFox.
Ghost Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Looks like many of us use the Firefox Browser... We should have a poll on this... I have way to much free time
Mystery Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I work with the bigger brother of firefox; Mozilla Suite and I have no problems with tpr
Meteornotes Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I've been using Firefox for months and have had ZERO problems with this site. dt
kenshinmac Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I work with the bigger brother of firefox; Mozilla Suite and I have no problems with tpr You know Mozilla Suite is discontinued and unsupported right? In fact I am not even sure that the Suite got the updates necessary to prevent the last exploit I saw posted for Mozilla apps. Please if you are using a Mozilla based browser get Firefox 1.5 it has automatic updates which will help to prevent problems for you. It also has a number of nice new features. I suggest people make the move to Firefox and Thunderbird if they are currently using Suite.
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Robb, I'm not having any problems with pictures in firefox at all, I use it now Alot of the time. I have no problems at all! Chris "we're talking Mozilla right?"Benvenuto
PKIDelirium Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I use Camino on my Mac, which is a special Firefox exclusively developed for Mac. On this crappy desktop I sometimes use, I use Firefox 0.8
robbalvey Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Thanks everyone! I really just wanted confirmation that FireFox was in fact working. I've only tested it a couple of times as for the site, my data shows that less than 10% of the visitors use FireFox (although I'm going to assume that the percentage of forum users is higher) but it forces me to use IE as the 'lowest common denominator' that I have to cater to. Some people were saying that there were problems with FireFox and TPR, but I had a feeling it was more of a browser setting issue, and now a site issue. Thanks again for your help! --Robb
redunzelizer Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 ... it forces me to use IE as the 'lowest common denominator' that I have to cater to. Some people were saying that there were problems with FireFox and TPR, but I had a feeling it was more of a browser setting issue, and now a site issue. So i'm using FF too - with caring about my browser settings. Working with TPR as perfect as could be. Robb, this is a typical PEBCAK. Please, please, don't feel "forced" into downgrading your site for these kind of problems. It would be like putting OSTR's and 3 seatbelts on a sofa. Someone always *could* fall off... http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/P/PEBKAC.html
robbalvey Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 I have to be honest, I tried FireFox, and I just didn't see what it offered over IE. Not to offend anyone who uses FireFox, I just didn't get what was so different about it. I'm sure it's great for those who use it, but with IE and browers are concerned I took the "if it ain't broke...." attitude. Sorry, but IE works just fine for everything I need it to do. --Robb
