PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 So today I had to take my 2002 Subaru Outback in for it's 120,000 mile maint. It was going to take sometime for the work to get done, so I brought my bike along with my camera to take a little cruise through downtown Sacramento. Enjoy! Time to head back through the mall. I love this store! Saw this in a window of a shop in Old Sac. Thought it was cool. The Tower Bridge on the Sacramento River. More good food next store... California Fat's. Just to let you guys know, there is a guy named "Frank Fat" and he own a ton of places is Sacto. Most of the carry the "Fat" name. Inside Fat City Mmm... Fat City. Some of the best food in Sacto. Old Sac is getting ready for Christmas. Ride'm cowboy! Someone is working for Budweiser today... and it's not me. I'm on suspention until Monday. If it wasn't 8:30 in the morning, I'd be there right now. My buddy Garrett is a bartender there, and I always get the hookup. Artwork on the way to Old Sac. Let's ride to Old Sacramento. Nice setup though. Crappy ass brewery in the mall. This is new. Wish I could see the damn thing. Downtown Plaza Mall. It's going to be 70+ degrees... let's go ice skating. Alright... time to ride. Some views from where I was sitting. Mmm... the coffee is good. White mocha with carmel syrup on the bottom of the cup. Time for some breakfast. Now I remember why I don't get bagels here anymore. That's a lot of cream cheese! My fresh ride! A Californian made Felt roadbike. This WRX is going to need a bit of work. These guy are awesome! If you live in Sacto and need work done on your Subaru, see these guys. Thanks Joe! I love my car! That's why I take such good care of it. Well... I don't wash it often, but the oil is changed every 3,000 miles.
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 (edited) I still have more! The mall is an open air mall. It's pretty sweet! No earthquakes today... so far. Those are some fancy elevator doors. Hi Wally, didn't see you there. Find Waldo... I mean Arnold! I don't think the 2nd guy to the right voted for Arnold. Arnold is behind that door... who freak'n cares? Vote for Wally in 2006!!! Remember this guy? Hey... it's Ronnie! What up dawg? Fancy stairway. On the second level of the rotunda. Floor tile artwork. I love it too! Well... Northern California atleast. So California used to be an island? What a pretty hallway. Damn 6th graders!!! Inside the rotunda. Arnolds got the small castle thing down. But what coaster is that there showing for Knott's? Went to take a tour. And while I was locking up my bike, about 50 6th graders showed up for a field trip. A view from the capital. The Great Seal of California. The State Capital building. Some other building. The state building. Let's ride to the capital. Another Frank Fats! Random art. You need some holes put in ya. These guys are the best! Yeah! for Trey's new album... END IT NOW TREY AND START UP PHISH AGAIN! Found what I really want for Christmas! Edited November 18, 2005 by PhishyBrewer
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 And some more! Hope you enjoyed this Photo TR. Thanks for looking! The Subaru will live long and strong! Time to head back and pickup the car. Random art. Sacramento Convention Center. The IMAX theater. Time to ride around the city some more. So he does still have a job here. Good for him.
Token Yankee Guy Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 you forgot something... "This Photo TR wouldn't have been made possible if it weren't for Craig helping me find a program to resize many pictures at once" j/k, great photo TR. I'm surprised you were allowed to take a picture of Arnolds office doors while that officer was there.

I'm surprised you were allowed to take a picture of Arnolds office doors while that officer was there. Thanks Craig... couldn't of done it without you. I asked the officer first before I took the picture. He said yes, but he still looked like he wanted to kick me in the nads
Hattuchili Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 WOW, great photo TR, Wally! It looks like you had a good time, alone in Sacramento! The pictures from the Capitol are aweseome! To sad you couldn´t make a photo of Arnold himself! That would really kick ass! However, thanks for posting! --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 WOW, great photo TR, Wally! It looks like you had a good time, alone in Sacramento! Today has been one of thee most relaxing days of my life. It's good to do things by yourself sometime. You don't have to worry about other people.
Kroger8 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 LOL we bypassed Sacramento on our trip, actually we tried to get out of Calafornia as fast as possible, jk, some woman flicked us off on 5 outside of Sac though, she pulled in front of us coming down the ramp, and flicked us off, lol, anyway, awesome pictures!!
Coaster Palooza Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Great pictures Wally! Looks like a nice relaxing day. So much time to kill when you're getting serviced... We are planning on coming up to Sacramento tomorrow to spend some time around downtown. Don't know exactly what we're going to do, but we will definately hit the Hard Rock Cafe.
SLUSHIE Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 What? No pictures of the bad part of town? Looks like the Imax/Convention center is as far as you went in that direction.
Nrthwnd Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Nice TR Wally. But so odd - to see you with a coffee in your hand instead of... well, you know.
maliboomer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I wasn't informed that Knotts and DL had moved out of Buena Park and below the highway. Nor there was a place called 'Placentia'... that was quite an insightful TR!
cfc Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Good stuff. I'll be flying into Sacramento around Christmastime (my brother and his family live near Land Park, and my parents live at Kings Beach up at Lake Tahoe). Too bad you couldn't sneak a trip over to Sac's teeny amusement park--Funderland (or is it Funderama?) at William Land Park, near the zoo. No coasters, just a bunch of old, vintage flats (like the Tilt-a-Whirl).
Zingo! Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Very enjoyable TR Wally. I agree NorCal is the tits, but hey, SoCal ain't awful or nothin'! (well, there's LA, but...) I didn't get this vibe from your Trey picture caption, but it did get me wondering about all this flack it seems Trey is getting post Phish. What's up with that? At Vegoose a couple of weeks ago I was hearing all this anti Trey sh#t, and lots of that community seems to be skipping this tour of his. Not that it makes any difference in the world who does and who does not like Trey, but seriously, what's up with that? Was there a memo amongst 'heads that I missed? Scott "happy to be seeing Trey on the 6th and Bob on the 9th" Moore
ebl Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Nice report, Wally! Funny thing, in all of my 46 years in California, I have yet to visit our state capital. I've been through there a couple of times on the freeway, though. But one day I'll have to actually get out of my car there. A few points... Those light rail cars came through Port Hueneme (where I work). I saw them on trucks leaving the harbor. "Found what I really want for Christmas!" Yeah, that is a nice tree... I see you like a little bagel with your cream cheese... Did Arnold and those others let you take that shot, or did you get it somewhere else? Having time to yourself is priceless. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Eric
calcajun Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Awww, Shame about the suspention. But look at the great photo report we got! Awesome! Thanks.
PhishyBrewer Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 We are planning on coming up to Sacramento tomorrow to spend some time around downtown. Don't know exactly what we're going to do, but we will definately hit the Hard Rock Cafe. Hard Rock as really gone down hill. They use to have this huge menu, and now it's just a bunch of over priced crap. Depending on what your in the mood for, I can suggest a ton of places. If you haven't noticed, I have eaten my share of good food. That's why I have a hard time fitting on MF at CP
PhishyBrewer Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 What? No pictures of the bad part of town? Midtown isn't all that bad. Some of the best places to eat are in Midtown, and my buddy owns a barber shop down there to. Now the east side of Sacto and Florin area, I considers those the bad areas.
disneygurlz2s Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Wow!! What a beautiful city....looks like you had a great day. I love exploring places myself. Not that I don't love my family and friends, it's just nice to set your own pace, see what you want to see and do what you want to do. Great photos as always!! Shari

Dragon coaster credit baby! I have a Funderland video on my website. Check it out at http://www.phishybrewer.com

Scott "happy to be seeing Trey on the 6th and Bob on the 9th" Moore Trey played with Mike and John at Utica, NY on 11/11. It's a great freak'n show. It's aavailable for download on etree. Anyway... during the show, Trey called himself a "F****** Toll" and basically said he was sorry for breaking up Phish. I love Trey, don't get me wrong. I named my son after him, Gavin Trey Weiss. But if there is any hope, at all, that the band will get back together, I'm all for it. That's all.
PhishyBrewer Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 [*]Did Arnold and those others let you take that shot, or did you get it somewhere else? Just took a picture of a picture, that's all. I don't know what I'd do if I ever meet Anrnold. I'd probably ask him if he had a tumor when he came up with the idea for the special election.
cfc Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Have you ever eaten at the Tower Cafe? Pretty good eatin' there, last time I checked.
PhishyBrewer Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 ^Oh yes... they have the best chili relleno. Specially for not being a Mexican resturant.
