^ sounds really amazing.  .

wonder if they'll do something about that Cars ride - that's a HUGE amount of space wasted for a mediocre ride. . . turn it into something akin to Radiator Springs Racers, maybe?

https://disneylandparis-news.com/en/disneyland-paris-will-welcome-the-worlds-first-attraction-and-immersive-themed-area-inspired-by-the-lion-king-and-reveals-that-world-of-frozen-will-open-in-2026/

First, we have a brand-new land for Disney Adventure World themed to The Lion King!

During D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – which took place in Anaheim, CA from August 9 to August 11, 2024, and brought together Disney fans from all over the world – Disneyland Paris shared exciting news about the awe-inspiring experiences that are coming to its two parks during Horizons: Disney Experience Showcase on August 10. The most astounding news was the reveal of the creation of the very first immersive attraction and themed area inspired by the beloved franchise The Lion King, which will come to life after the opening of World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World in 2026. A host of other projects that are being turned into reality as part of the unprecedented transformation of Europe’s top tourist destination have also been revealed. Also, in the coming years, guests will be amazed by the all-new nighttime spectacular that will be performed above Adventure Bay, the central lake at Disney Adventure World, but they will also be treated to a brand-new nighttime experience at Disneyland Park beginning in January 2025!

The First-Ever Attraction and Immersive Area Themed Around The Lion King in a Disney Park

In front of an excited audience, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, unveiled the upcoming creation of an all-new extraordinary area at Disneyland Paris dedicated to one of the most beloved Disney franchises, around the world and particularly in Europe – The Lion King! This larger-than-life area will bring guests on a journey through the African savanna and immerse them into the unforgettable adventures of Simba, Timon, Pumbaa and many other iconic characters from the beloved Disney film, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. For the attraction, Disney Imagineers will bring to life the majestic Pride Rock, which will serve as the gateway to an adventure-filled water attraction that will plunge guests beneath the rock to follow Simba on his journey from cub to king, in a retelling of the story from the classic animated feature film. When visiting this immersive themed area, guests will be immersed in the world of The Lion King thanks to Disney character greetings, themed dining, and shopping opportunities, which promises an unforgettable experience for guests of all ages.

Inspired by the African savanna and iconic locations from the franchise, this new area will push the boundaries of immersion with its unparalleled level of detail and a new, unique attraction, which will seamlessly blend a spectacular water experience with state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics® technology. Imagineers have dreamed up the perfect way to carry forward Disney’s unique storytelling tradition! With construction set to begin next year, the Pride Lands near Adventure Bay will bring the resort’s ongoing transformation to new heights!

“From the moment the sun rose on the big screen in theaters all around the world, audiences were captivated by the story of The Lion King, and its characters, and it has not lost any momentum since. Our goal as Imagineers is to translate the emotional core of the film into this exciting project and have you relive that feeling all over again as you experience this unique attraction. I’m thrilled and excited that The Lion King will make its attraction debut here at Disneyland Paris.” said Michel Den Dulk, Portfolio Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.

Next, Disney announced that World of Frozen will open at Disney Adventure World in 2026, along with a new nighttime spectacular on the lake!

Before the future opening of the themed area dedicated to The Lion King, guests will be treated to an array of new experiences at Disney Adventure World. These novelties include the Adventure Way promenade surrounded by lush landscape, the family attraction Raiponce Tangled Spin, the stylish The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge offering spectacular views over the majestic Adventure Bay and the highly anticipated land inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Frozen.

When the Kingdom of Arendelle opens its gates in 2026, guests will not only have the opportunity to embark on an unforgettable journey alongside Anna and Elsa inside the all-new attraction at Disneyland Paris, Frozen Ever After, but they will also be able to take part in immersive shopping and dining experiences and meet the beloved sisters in person during a royal encounter!

In the same year, an all-new breathtaking nighttime show will also debut on the lake and above. The banks along Adventure Bay and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge will be the perfect spot to admire the awe-inspiring combination of water screens, fountains, special effects, and never- before-seen drone choreography. Honoring its long legacy of innovation in nighttime entertainment, and in partnership with its France-based Official Technology Provider Dronisos, Disneyland Paris is also developing the first of their kind water-drones to be used just for this special show, that will bring each adventure-filled day at Disney Adventure World to a spectacular

close! All of these new experiences will roughly double the footprint of the park, which is ushering in a new era marked by a fresh creative vision. To celebrate this new chapter, the second park will even be renamed Disney Adventure World when the next themed area comes to life in 2026!

Finally, Disneyland Paris will be debuting a new Nighttime spectacular in January 2025!

image.thumb.png.e2eae90df0fb3fd325f926052443a11e.png

New Year is usually synonymous with new beginnings! Starting January 2025, an all-new nighttime spectacular will enchant guests of all ages every day at Disneyland Park. featuring a magical combination of iconic songs and projections of Disney Characters onto Sleeping Beauty Castle. This new show will bring guests on a journey filled with emotion and nostalgia to help them discover that true magic lies within every moment of life!

With its unique blend of projections, fountains, breathtaking lighting effects and an original soundtrack, this show promises to push the technical boundaries set for previous night shows, such as Disney Dreams! and Disney Illuminations, and immerse guests into their favorite stories like never before. Additionally, for the first time in the history of nighttime spectaculars at Disneyland Paris, Main Street, U.S.A. will also serve as a backdrop for a show! Whether it comes to the colorful settings of Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, Encanto or even Buzz Lightyear’s galaxy, many Disney Animation and Pixar stories will be brought to life on the iconic street located in Disneyland Park – a never-before-seen experience made possible through state-of-the-art projections complete with sound effects that will further immerse guests into the story.

“For this new show, we reimagined the way of telling stories with our Castle as the main attraction. This exclusive experience at Disneyland Paris is a testament to our creative expertise – skill which has been honed over the years. We are looking forward to dazzling and touching the hearts of our guests by immersing them into breathtaking sequences inspired by their favorite Disney and Pixar movies like never before. This can’t-miss experience will make it possible for guests to end their day in the parks all together in the most unforgettable way,” said Dana Harrel, Executive Entertainment Director, Disneyland Paris.

A Transformation Coming to Life Across the Resort

All these projects are part of a development plan that aims to push the boundaries of innovation and excellence. They reflect the commitment of Disneyland Paris to always expand its offerings in creative and groundbreaking ways.

Earlier this year, the resort lifted the curtain on the next phase of its Disney Hotels transformation plan. After inviting guests to step into the world of Marvel Super Heroes with the reopening of Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2021 and unveiling the royally reimagined Disneyland Hotel in 2024, the resort will gradually reimagine all Disney Davy Crockett Ranch bungalows in the near future featuring interior decorations inspired by the adventures of beloved characters such as Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, together with Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby Vanderquack.

Disney Village is also undergoing a major reimagining aimed at enhancing its offerings and exceeding guest expectations! In the coming months, the retail, dining, and entertainment complex will welcome all-new restaurants and shops, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a modern, warm, and dynamic atmosphere!

“The last updates provided at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event are a valuable addition to the ongoing or upcoming projects at Disneyland Paris. They show the extent of our transformation, which aims to reinvent the experience delivered within our resort in the coming years. We are confident that all these changes will contribute to strengthening our position as a tourism leader in Europe, along with the pioneer status that Disney has earned in the theme park industry,” said Natacha Rafalski.

We're hoping to make it over to Disney Paris (and Eiffel's Tower, Musee' Dorsay, etc.) near the end of the decade. This will certainly add to the excitement of getting there! I think it's our fourth visit to the resort. This time, like last visit, staying onsite. Sequoia Lodge. Wonderful past stay there. :mickey:

Of course Bambi made an appearance, there. Sweet, but not very 'woodsy' to us.

https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/new-light-display-for-star-warstm-hyperspace-mountain-exterior/

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of this iconic Discoveryland attraction in 2025, the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams are currently developing a brand- new light concept for the exterior of Star WarsTM Hyperspace Mountain.

The project, which began nearly 2 years ago, is taking shape a little more each evening with the gradual replacement of over 640 luminaires – requiring over 17 kilometres of cabling – the modernisation of technical equipment, the repainting of the roof and the creation of new technical access points to facilitate maintenance operations.

Once completed, this upgrade will deliver a breathtaking experience – not only for passengers aboard Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, but also for all Discoveryland guests, who will be able to enjoy the stunning light eHects generated each time a vehicle launches. To successfully complete this project, the teams also had the opportunity to work with the lighting designer who worked on the original 1995 attraction!

As well as restoring the attraction’s majestic roof to its original splendour, the new lighting will feature all-new eHects to enhance this iconic Discoveryland landmark.

See you later this summer to discover the results of this interstellar transformation – and to continue exploring galaxies far, far away…

From its breathtaking opening ceremony to its recent transformation into Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, the history of this iconic dome-shaped attraction has been marked by many unforgettable moments.

That same history continues to be written by the resort’s Operations and Maintenance teams, who help “transport guests to a galaxy far, far away” each day, while ensuring their journey is both smooth and safe.

And there’s still more to come: new collectible items dreamed up by Disneyland Paris’ Merchandising teams will soon arrive in shops, and the attraction’s outdoor lighting setup is currently being redesigned! Stay tuned for more updates!

https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/big-thunder-mountain-the-wildest-ride-in-the-west-to-reopen-on-21-june/

On 21 June 2025, the iconic Big Thunder Mountain attraction will once again welcome visitors to Frontierland®, following several months of renovation led by the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery, Maintenance and Central Workshops teams.

Over the last few months, a wide range of specialists with a variety of skills have been taking great care of Big Thunder Mountain, one of the most popular attractions at Disneyland® Paris. Their objective: to ensure the attraction is meticulously maintained, preserving the quality of the experience while honouring the original creative vision and safeguarding its story, which remains deeply intertwined with that of Frontierland®.

In addition to the in-depth maintenance of the tunnels and rails, with certain stretches being completely replaced, parts of the mountain were repainted, and the arch was cleaned using drones – a first for the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams. Some of the attraction’s water, visual and sound effects have also been reworked or restored.

BTM_3-scaled.thumb.jpg.9eecb0d87e990614a6acca34c2d83fed.jpg

The highly detailed scenery of Big Thunder Mountain was not left out – certain wooden elements like Mill Camp Tower were dismantled for restoration before being reinstalled on the mountain. Hundreds of accessories, visible both throughout the attraction and its queue line, have been carefully cleaned, repainted, and given a patina in the Disneyland® Paris Central Workshops to preserve the authentic, timeworn look of this gold-rush-era mine. For larger pieces, such as the Lavinia steam engine visible from the queue area, the work was carried out directly on site.

Disneyland Paris has shared an update about their current refurbishment of Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year!

https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/a-major-refurbishment-for-buzz-lightyear-laser-blast-until-the-end-of-2025/

A major refurbishment for Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast until the end of 2025

Attention, Space Rangers! Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast has closed its doors for a major refurbishment, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. Here’s a sneak peek at the extensive work being carried out!

BUZZ-LIGHTYEAR_1-1.thumb.jpg.a5db075e6dcfcb44b67f502c078fc63b.jpg

Over the coming months, teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Maintenance, and Central Workshops will be working extensively on this interactive Discoveryland attraction, a favourite among guests of Disneyland® Paris. Many aspects will undergo major upgrades – or even complete replacements – to ensure the best possible guest experience.

A Refreshed Star Command

The attraction’s highly stylized façade, covered in radars, energy-collecting towers, and futuristic pillars that represent Star Command’s space station, will be repainted – along with the marquee and the iconic nearly -two-meter-tall Buzz Lightyear statue. The neon lighting on the five towers and radar dishes will also be completely redone to provide even more vibrant lighting.

Thorough Work on the XP-41 Space Cruisers

BUZZ-LIGHTYEAR_3-1-scaled.thumb.jpg.22ec0498620b5d47e8a4cf4d9be749a0.jpg

Guests will benefit from newer technology in their mission to defend the toy galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg: all current Astro Blasters, which allow them to shoot targets, will be completely dismantled and replaced. Additionally, many of the ride vehicles will be repainted and equipped with new dashboards featuring improved displays.

A Brighter Galaxy in Focus

BUZZ-LIGHTYEAR_2-1-scaled.thumb.jpg.39d8f7ef9f6da38e2d044120936d3c3f.jpg

This fantastic space adventure will return brighter than ever: inside the attraction, lighting will be completely overhauled with the replacement of all spotlights and the refurbishment of special lighting effects. Some of the targets – used by guests to score points in the battle against Zurg and his army of toy robots – will also be replaced with new ones, offering improved precision and performance.

Beyond these changes, many other technical and visual aspects of the attraction will be refurbished during this closure, including the restoration of several Audio-Animatronics®. Over the coming months, all teams involved in this ambitious project will be hard at work to bring Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast back in top form by the end of 2025.

On March 29, 2026, World of Frozen – along with many new experiences – will open within Disney Adventure World, the reimagined second park at Disneyland® Paris

A historic date for Europe’s number one tourist destination, which, upon completion of its transformation, will have roughly doubled the size of its second park, offering experiences that push the boundaries of storytelling.

125 days before Walt Disney Studios Park transforms into Disney Adventure World with the opening of Adventure Way — a majestic new main avenue featuring entertainment, a brand-new attraction inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Tangled, 14 new dining locations — and the debut of an immense lake called Adventure Bay, with a breathtaking nighttime spectacular. The highlight of this expansion, the impressive brand-new World of Frozen, will fully immerse guests into the heart of the iconic films. The Kingdom of Arendelle, recreated on a life-size scale, will feature a new family-friendly attraction, a daytime show, a royal encounter with queens Anna and Elsa, interactions with beloved characters including a true-to-size Olaf made possible thanks to next-generation robotic figures demonstrated today by Walt Disney Imagineering team, a tavern, and shops. This monumental expansion is set to captivate and amaze guests at every turn.

While Disneyland Park® continues to evolve by bringing the magic of timeless stories and enchanted tales to life, the destination’s second park – now reimagined – will transport guests into the worlds inspired by Disney Animation, Pixar Animation Studios, and Marvel Studios films they love where they can experience unforgettable adventures. Renamed Disney Adventure World from March 29, 2026 it will welcome guests to three spectacular immersive lands: the new World of Frozen, the colorful Worlds of Pixar, and the epic Marvel Avengers Campus, which will later be joined by a fourth world inspired by the classic Disney Animation film The Lion King.

The transformation of more than 90% of the second park’s offerings since 2002 illustrates the ongoing ambition of Disneyland® Paris to reinvent itself and enhance the guest experience. As Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland® Paris, explains: “March 29, 2026 will mark a historic milestone for Disneyland® Paris with the transformation of our second park into Disney Adventure World, and the opening of its spectacular new expansion, featuring World of Frozen. With this step, we’re pursuing the most ambitious transformation in our resort’s history, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and inviting guests to live their own adventures in the extraordinary worlds of Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel. This marks a new era for Europe’s number one tourist destination, filled with deeper storytelling, stronger emotions, and unforgettable moments. Supported by our €2 billion investment plan, this expansion reflects a bold creative vision, made possible thanks to the talent of Walt Disney Imagineering and the passion of our Cast Members who bring our stories to life through their dedication and creativity. Together, we’re reinventing how our guests experience Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel worlds, bringing to life the emotions that only Disney can inspire.”

World of Frozen will push the boundaries of storytelling. Every detail has been designed to recreate the iconic scenes and locations of the Frozen films, one of the most popular stories ever produced by the Walt Disney Animation Studios.

During their visit, guests will participate in a one-of-a-kind celebration: the Snowflower Festival, bringing the entire village of Arendelle to life, specially decorated for the occasion.

“World of Frozen is more than just inspired by the film; it truly brings the kingdom of Arendelle to life. Working together across disciplines, our Imagineers combined creativity and attention to detail to craft a world that captures the spirit of the story and feels real and immersive. We’re very proud to see the castle, the village, and the North Mountain become reality, and we can’t wait for our guests to step into this world and be part of the story.” - Michel den Dulk, Vice-President and Portfolio Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris

IMMERSIVE ARCHITECTURE

Architecturally, guests will discover the majestic 118-foot-tall (36 meters) North Mountain, crowned by Elsa’s Ice Palace. At its base lies the village of Arendelle, with its lively town square framed by colorful Nordic-inspired buildings and sparkling water spots.

Villagers, accompanied by a symphonic reinterpretation of the films’ iconic songs played throughout the village, will guide guests to Arendelle Bay, the Fountain of Friendship, or Arendelle Castle decorated with its iced decorations, designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and brought to life by UK Loco, a British company specializing in immersive decor. Subtle floral motifs and rosemaling, a traditional Norwegian decorative art, will adorn facades and moldings with refined craftsmanship. Inspired by Scandinavian landscapes, the landscaping will contribute to storytelling with conifers, birches, beeches, and crocuses, recreating the atmosphere of the animated films’ settings.

This journey, punctuated by beloved songs such as “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go” will reunite visitors with some of the kingdom’s most beloved characters: Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff. The ride will travel from the snowy forest to the Valley of the Trolls, through Elsa’s dazzling Ice Palace, before ending with a spectacular finale in Arendelle Bay lit by snowflake-shaped fireworks.

Frozen Ever After will feature cutting-edge technology, including state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics figures delivering breathtakingly lifelike performances. Numerous lighting and sound effects, along with new immersive projection technologies currently being programmed by Walt Disney Imagineering, will provide a visually and emotionally stunning experience for all.

A NEW FAMILY ATTRACTION

At the heart of the village, beneath the Clock Tower, Frozen Ever After attraction will take guests of all ages on a boat ride full of adventures alongside Anna, Elsa, and their friends.

INTERACTIONS WITH FROZEN CHARACTERS

In World of Frozen, guests will have the unique opportunity to meet Anna and Elsa during a Royal Encounter* in Arendelle Castle. After passing through the famous Portrait Gallery, whose final decorative details are being completed in the coming weeks, they will join the sisters for an exclusive moment, with personal interaction and photo opportunities to create memories that last a lifetime.

The festivities will continue in Arendelle Bay with A Celebration in Arendelle, a 15-minute colorful show, presented several times a day for the Snowflower Festival. Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and villagers will take part in the celebrations aboard three majestic Viking longships, developed with Couach Construction Navale, a renowned French shipbuilder from the Bordeaux region. Boat decoration, has been entrusted to artisans who have long collaborated with Disneyland® Paris. Kristoff’s longship, for example, was painted by artisans from Prelud, a historic supplier based near Dijon. This participatory show will invite the audience to sing along with characters from Frozen to iconic songs from the franchise such as “Let It Go” or “Show Yourself”.

Exclusively for World of Frozen at Disneyland® Paris, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the multi-award-winning songwriting duo, winners of the Oscar® for Best Original Song for “Let It Go”, have composed new music especially for the show presented on the Bay. They are also behind other iconic songs from the Frozen franchise, including “For the First Time in Forever” and “Into the Unknown,” which have been streamed billions of times worldwide.

Throughout the village streets, guests may also encounter other beloved characters such as Oaken, the cheerful shopkeeper and sauna owner with his famous “Hoo-hoo!”, or Mossie, an adorable baby troll who is as curious as he is endearing.

During a press conference held on November 24, 2025, at Disneyland® Paris, Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, unveiled a next-generation robotic character representing Olaf, the lovable snowman from Frozen. This new Olaf character was created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development in close collaboration with Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Olaf will make appearances in the Arendelle Bay show in World of Frozen, the new immersive world coming soon to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland® Paris, and special limited-time appearances in World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. These advancements in robotics enable Disney to bring iconic characters to life at an unmatched level of believability, engaging with guests and other characters around them, just as they did in the films that won the hearts of millions of viewers around the world.

To explore how this innovation came to life, take a look behind the scenes in the latest episode of “We Call It Imagineering,” available now on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel.

Every detail has been meticulously designed by Imagineers, such as the ornamental plates reflecting the world of each Disney Princess. These were hand-crafted by Royal Delft, the renowned Dutch porcelain manufacturer and official supplier to the Dutch royal family. This themed area will enrich the story of The Hollywood Tower Hotel, by representing the remnants of the Patio, that was once a relaxing courtyard with an outdoor pool, greatly appreciated by the show business elite, but fell into disarray. Every material element has been carefully selected to fit with the theme, and to echo the Pueblo Deco architecture of the premises. The props and elements of decor disseminated in the queue will give more clues about the tragic events that occurred at The Hollywood Tower Hotel – preparing guests for what’s awaiting them inside.

Next door, the new merchandise location inspired by the 1930s flower shops will open early 2026. The existing structure have been completely reworked to create a boutique harmoniously blending into World Premiere Plaza and its Art Deco-inspired theatre district area. It will offer an authentic atmosphere thanks to an array of props scattered around the boutique, including flower bouquets, pictures celebrating its historical milestones, and even a fridge similar to those used by Californian florists at the time.

On the menu for this renovation is a generous serving of technical upgrades and scenic enhancements, all carefully crafted to offer guests an even more immersive experience into the world of the Pixar Animation Studios film Ratatouille.

The queue will be enhanced with a new scene depicting a Parisian artist’s studio teeming with details and accessories such as canvases on the walls, paint splatters, and a fruit basket that may well whet the appetite of all the adorable rats in the neighbourhood.

Inside the attraction, new props, enhanced projections, and larger-than-life props and set pieces – currently being produced – will add extra flavour to key scenes, and enhance guests’ perception of being shrunk to the size of Remy and his friends.

Upcoming renovation of Annette’s Diner: Imagineers are getting ready to hit the floor!

At Disney Village, Annette’s Diner will temporarily close on 5 January 2026, for a major refurbishment lasting several months. The renovation will focus on enlarging the kitchens and completely refurbishing the dining room, including floors and furniture, while preserving its charm and the retro atmosphere that has been so popular since 1992. Some iconic features will be completely reimagined, such as the bar, whose layout and aesthetic will be redesigned to pay tribute to the distinctive chrome look of classic diners. The booths will also sport a new design inspired by 1950s car seats, in colours typical of the era such as pink, blue and vanilla yellow. When it reopens, Annette’s Diner — with a slightly increased seating capacity — will continue to bring the golden age of Rock ’n’ Roll and the 1950s back to life, much to the delight of its guests.

Major renovation of Disney Sequoia Lodge to begin soon!

Starting January 2026, major refurbishment work will be carried out to enhance and elevate the experience offered at Disney Sequoia Lodge, while preserving its wooden décor along with its authentic and warm atmosphere.

The design will elevate the tribute to the beauty of nature to inspiring new heights. while taking inspiration from the forests following the tradition started by Walt Disney and his team of animators. Every space, from the rooms to the lobby, as well as the shopping and dininglocations, will be reinvented as an ode to wildlife, offering the perfect environment to unwind and let one’s mind wander.

As a reminder, the hotel will remain open during the refurbishment work, which will be carried out in phases.

These various projects offer just a glimpse of the many upcoming works throughout the destination, and many other projects are being considered to surprise guests during their next visit to Disneyland® Paris. More information to come!

At Adventure Bay, the entire team behind Disney Cascade of Lights, the destination’s upcoming second night-time show, is busy getting everything ready for its official launch on 29 March 2026. Here’s your chance to learn more about the design and behind-the-scenes magic of this dazzling production created for Disney Adventure World, the second reimagined park of Disneyland Paris.

A CASCADE OF REHEARSALS

Darkness has fully settled over Adventure Bay. The construction workers who were still on site at Disney Adventure World a few hours ago have left. Around the lake, a surge of activity breaks the quiet, as the creators and technicians of Disney Cascade of Lights are hard at work. They are currently rehearsing the placement of the impressive structure that will be positioned in the centre of the lake each evening from 29 March 2026, housing key equipment for the show – fountains, lights, projectors, and pyrotechnics.

This structure consists of five elements: a 14 m² central platform, connected to four barges whose extending arms form an almost circular shape, echoing the lake’s contours. All of this is done in total silence, with fully electric pusher boats moving the various components from the backstage marina, capable of handling the entire structure’s approximate 160 tonnes. The barge operators have received specialised training to manoeuvre the barges with maximum precision, especially when passing the iconic swing bridge from World of Frozen.

Once the structure is securely moored and connected, all that remains are the 379 aerial and aquatic drones specially developed for the show, before rehearsals can begin.

A NEW WAVE OF DRONES

Producer Ben Spalding has been dreaming of this show for over 7 years. Back then, he was working on Disneyland Paris’ first drone shows, as part of the resort’s 30th anniversary celebrations. First came Disney D-Light, and the following year, Avengers: Power the Night. At both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park, the aim was to bring stories to life in the sky – reaching up to 120 m high. Soon, he was already thinking ahead to the next experiment, one in which the drones would fly lower and nearer to the audience. Truly revolutionary! The Adventure Bay lake project provided the backdrop for him to turn his vision into reality.

Working closely with Dronisos, Disneyland Paris’ official high-tech partner from the outset of this adventure, new drones were developed: aerial drones that are more resistant to wind and rain, as well as aquatic drones, nicknamed ‘ducks’.

Thanks to these groundbreaking innovations, the light show will come closer to the audience than ever before and be even more dazzling. ‘The water acts like a mirror that multiplies all our light sources,’ explains Ben Spalding. ‘Our aquatic drones light up the surface of the lake, combined with low-angled lights all around the edges of the lake. And then there are the fountains, each with its own light sources, and the various pyrotechnic effects. It’s a spectacular cascade of lights!’ All these elements come together to create an extraordinary display of water and light, adjusted down to the millimetre so that every component fits perfectly without disrupting the others. ‘The secret is teamwork. The entire show was previewed in 3D. As part of this programme, we used a detailed model of the park, from which each team member – responsible for drones,

pyrotechnics, lighting, and more – developed their own plan. This made it possible to visualise, plan and choreograph things in advance so that everything came together perfectly when live.’

To bring this luminous festival to life, a team of 24 technicians will be present each evening. ‘That’s more than twice as many as for shows like Disney Dreams or Disney Illumination. That just goes to show the complexity and richness of Disney Cascade of Lights!’

A RUSH OF EMOTIONS

All this technology would be meaningless if it didn’t serve the audience’s emotions, guided by a strong, engaging story. ‘Focusing on emotion and storytelling was a key priority. We wanted a concept that could resonate with all European audiences, and that’s how we came up with the idea of Inspiration,’recalls Ben.

Like Peter Pan’s shadow in Disney Dreams, Inspiration has become a character in its own right and the show’s guiding light. It’s also the link between the audience and the characters in the story. And every one of these characters was carefully selected. Mulan’s commitment is driven by honour and family, just as Moana’s is guided by the ocean, inspiring her to embark on adventures for the good of her community. It is Hercules’ courage of heart that makes him a true hero, just as Judy Hopps’ sense of duty drives her to rise above prejudices and become part of the Zootopia police force. Each Avenger followed their own inspiration and path before becoming a hero, just as Carl Fredriksen did in his unique way, driven by the promise he made to a loved one.

Director Susan Plyer (Minnie’s Dream Factory ) was particularly inspired by this concept and these characters. ‘Each and every one of them embodies an emotion that can strike a chord with every guest,’ Susan says. ‘They are an endless source of inspiration in our lives, whether in helping others, supporting family, or finding the courage to face daily challenges.’

The character’s visuals have been meticulously crafted, with both design and colour carefully calibrated to suit projection onto a water curtain.

Music is both the emotional driver of the show and the metronome that keeps all its elements in perfect harmony. Composed by Mark Hammond (‘Lost in the Magic’) and produced by Jonathan Barr, the show’s score was recorded in the legendary Abbey Road studios in London by a 90-piece orchestra, and is accompanied by an original song, ‘We Can Be Heroes’, which in itself embodies the show’s spirit.

A 360° VIEW

The creators of Disney Cascade of Lights paid close attention to ensuring that spectators enjoyed the best possible experience from every seat – a major challenge given the scale of this massive 3-hectare lake. Not only was the design of the central structure crucial, but so too was the placement of 240-plus floodlights and light points directed at the lake, as well as the sound setup throughout Adventure Bay.

Taking a 360° approach also requires addressing the environmental impact of a production of this scale. From the fully electric power supply for the boats, reducing the carbon footprint, to the lake’s filtration system employing different fish species, to the residue-free materials used in fireworks and pyrotechnics, every aspect has been meticulously planned.

As a result, the show leaves a minimal environmental footprint, but a maximal emotional one, giving the audience unforgettable memories shaped by the flood of emotion poured in by every creator, from the initial concept down to the final technical detail.

https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/a-new-original-soundtrack-for-adventure-way-at-disney-adventure-world/

From 29 March 2026, guests arriving on Adventure Way will be welcomed by an original soundtrack specially created for this promenade by composer Philippe Rombi. This brand-new theme, lasting more than 40 minutes and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios, will offer guests a magical interlude at the heart of Disney Adventure World.

On Saturday 13 December, French composer Philippe Rombi surprised Disneyland® Paris fans during an event in the heart of the resort by personally unveiling the new musical theme written for Adventure Way, the new lush alley that will, from spring 2026, link together the immersive worlds of Disney Adventure World. Alongside Michel den Dulk, Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, he spoke about the inspiration behind the composition of this suite.

While the music for worlds such as World of Frozen is naturally based on the animated films, an area as unique as Adventure Way could only have an original score — a first for Disneyland Paris since 1992 and the original soundtrack heard in Discoveryland.

To rise to this musical challenge, and inspired by his distinctive style, the Imagineers decided to call upon a composer well known in French cinema: Philippe Rombi. Nominated four times for the César Awards, notably for the film Joyeux Noël, whose soundtrack was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road studios, he recorded the music for Adventure Way under the same conditions, during the summer of 2025, with the 84 musicians of this iconic orchestra. It was a return to his roots for the composer, who worked as a pianist at the Disneyland Hotel when Disneyland Paris opened in 1992!

Abbey-Road-Adventure-Way-1-900x1024.thumb.png.ce6a72cb66b5bceb4e45be1cd2b8fe4e.png

Building on creative discussions, concept reviews, and even a visit to the Disney Adventure World construction site, Philippe Rombi devised two main themes inspired by notions of adventure, travel, wonder, and distant horizons. From these two main motifs, he composed a magnificent suite of nearly 40 minutes that resonates throughout Adventure Way, including the various themed gardens that are part of it. For these gardens, he added subtle nods to Disney themes — Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians for the Gazebo Garden, and Tangled for its dedicated garden. A special piano version can also be heard at The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. The result is a perfect blend of Philippe Rombi’s artistic identity and Disney’s musical universe!

“Choosing to create original music for an entire area of a Disney Park is extremely rare, and it’s even rarer to entrust this job to a French composer. It’s a true recognition of my work and a real honour. I’ve always composed from the heart, driven by my passion. The fact that my music moved the Imagineers to the point where they felt they could entrust me with this huge responsibility means a great deal to me”, declared Philippe Rombi.

After six magical seasons, the Dream Factory is reopening its doors from 7 February 2026 for a reimagined show, this time starring Minnie and friends.

A NEW ADVENTURE STARRING MINNIE AND FRIENDS

After a short break, the dream machine at the Dream Factory is back in action and ready to turn dreams into magic.

PLYER-Susan-1024x1024.thumb.jpg.ff8b39d269bd11747935000accdde05c.jpg

Everything began back in 2024, when director Susan Plyer had the idea of putting Minnie and all her Disney friends in the spotlight. ‘I wanted to give the show a new twist, so I suggested that Minnie and her friends should be in charge of the Dream Factory. Our Disney Characters are the very heart of Disney, so who better than them to nurture our dreams?’

In this new story, Minnie lovingly leads all her friends who work in the Dream Factory, including Chip & Dale, who are the comedy duo of the show. Meanwhile, Donald looks after each and every technical detail, while Daisy brings her energy and enthusiasm to the challenges and helps motivate her colleagues – a real dream team!

‘This is a new vision of the Dream Factory,’ explains Susan. We’ve kept the idea of this marvellous machine that transforms our dreams into magic, while offering a more up-to-date story that’s even closer to our guests. In this adventure, when problems arise, they’re solved as a team! Achieving your dreams is always a challenge, and it’s only by helping each other that you can succeed. That’s what this show is all about.’

A UNIQUE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

As in any self-respecting musical, the songs take centre stage. They move the story along and allow the various characters to share their emotions with the audience.

To create the soundtrack, Susan went through the Disney Channel music archives and selected the songs whose lyrics best suited the new experience. These songs were then specially adapted to meet the needs of each scene, giving the audience the chance to sing along with the Disney Characters to iconic tunes from the Disney Channel repertoire in new version, featuring a new original score.

The show’s creators also wanted guests to feel closer to the action, with more opportunities for interaction. For example, Susan worked closely with lighting designer Adrien Mourey to highlight the front of the stage area, where much of the interaction with the audience will take place. ‘My aim is for visitors to feel even more involved in the show. Including the stage and the mezzanine, we now have three levels, three places from which to tell our story, with the front-of-stage area providing a privileged space for sharing.’ This strong bond with the audience is also expressed in the script, written in collaboration with the author of the very first show, Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal. ‘His approach matches this new vision perfectly. Since he is familiar with every detail of the first version, he was able to add a host of subtle touches to bring alive the proximity I was looking for.’

The Factory’s appearance has also been redesigned. From the moment they arrive, audiences will be immersed in a brand-new lighting atmosphere, then discover a set adapted by scenographer Tiphaine Bonin, filled with playful nods to Minnie.

The new costumes worn by the Disney Characters in the show were designed and created at Disneyland Paris.

The special effects are equally spectacular, featuring favourites like the dream bubbles, and introducing some brand-new surprises.

A DREAM CAST

On stage, alongside Donald, Daisy, and Chip & Dale, Minnie has a whole dream team to keep the Factory up and running. These exceptional colleagues are not only singers, but also actors and dancers. This is referred to as ‘triple talent’: a distinctive quality of musical-theatre artists, trained across all three disciplines. ‘I know this world well, and that is exactly the energy I wanted to give to our show. After all, this is World Premiere Plaza!’

To form this team, over 800 hopefuls took part in the auditions, including newcomers and veterans of the show, all determined to continue this adventure, at both an artistic and human level. The first selections focused on solo singing before concentrating on dance and then singing in harmony. Improvisation was also at the heart of the process, both individually and in groups. Finally, fourteen of the applicants were chosen to join the show’s cast. They are all rehearsing hard as we speak to be ready for the launch of the new season. ‘These rehearsals are very intense because all three of my teams – the vocal coach, the acting coach and the dance captains – are present at the same time to ensure that each discipline reaches its highest level. That’s why we had to recruit only the very best!’

The cast also includes actors who sign in French sign language (LSF). This season, they move beyond narrating, becoming fully integrated into the production itself. As in previous years, this ‘multilingual’ version will be available at weekends, on public holidays and during the school holidays.

Join us on 7 February to dream together and discover a show that will appeal to young and old alike, brought to you by Disneyland Paris. ‘All too often, we tend to forget our dreams, letting daily life take priority over our aspirations,’Susan concludes. But you can dream at any age and in any situation. It might be something as simple as taking some time for yourself, or something magical … such as staging a show at Disneyland Paris! I really wanted this new story to inspire everyone. Because dreams have no limits …’
