rosscoe Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 As part of an announcement from Leisure Labs about securing $30 million in projects for their partners (Mack, Huss, GCI, I.E. Park) they announced that Mack is working on a project with a major US park operator to open a “new-age Mack Powered Coaster” for the Spring of 2006. They liken the experience to a Family Launched Coaster, except that this ride can be launched and decelerated at any point on the track. Taken from Screamscape. Is this the new ride system for "Disney's Monster Inc" ?
FlyingScooter Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 When I read 'New Age', I first thought: Wow, Enya, Yanni and Clannad are going to launch coasters? LOL Wonder how this system would differ from the others out there.
SharkTums Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I don't think it's for Monsters as from what I hear that ride is pretty much done and used the old Intamin system... I love the Mack Powered Mine Trains, even if they aren't credits!
wallaaa -be Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 You can have a look at this: http://mack-rides.de/download/ideenbooklet_invert_cstr.pdf
rollermonkey Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Wow! That looks very innovative for Mack! I'm pretty impressed. I wonder which not-in-America park will get one first? Chris B
Nrthwnd Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 ...a “new-age Mack Powered Coaster” for the Spring of 2006. They liken the experience to a Family Launched Coaster, except that this ride can be launched and decelerated at any point on the track. I believe this is the coaster I experienced in the Amsterdam Dungeon attraction, this past Monday. I will go into it's workings more on my Am'dam TR when I return home. But the above certainly best describes what I was on - in a former church no less! This may have been Mack's first "small trial version" of such a coaster design in an operating attraction.
Costakid Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 ^That is a Mack e-Motion coaster, and it isn't powered.
DATman Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 This new one is great for monsters inc. are they using a powered coaster, or what?
jarmor Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Hummm...so far, according to screamscape, the US park just very well may be in FLA...and a sign stating "comming in 2006" has been placed hear the construction/deconstruction site! Jarvis "im getting all excited now!" Morant!
DATman Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 COUGH *IOA* COUGH Sylvester Monkey Mc. Bean's Wacky Flying Macines! (easiest name change ever)
ECZenith Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Glad to see they're doing something with that ride. I mean, they must already have theming in those buildings, and a load/unload platform already set up... it would just be replacing the track.
Twister II Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Has any body noticed that in the movie "Monsters Inc." That the door part is the exact same path as California Screamin?
Eunuch Provocateur Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Hey look! Tatsu vehicles at the bottom of the pamphlet!!
