The Angry Darren Mullins Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 http://www.furniturefashion.com/roller_coaster_apartments_project_in_beihai_china/ I will visit this city later this week.
johnnyknottsville Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 At First I thought this was some kind of spam post but then I clicked on the link... OMFG!!! that's freakin insane!!! How is it possible for something to be that hideous yet still kinda gorgeous all at the same time, It's a beautiful monstrosity lolol
bert425 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 so people have an idea what's at the link (it's NOT spam): yes, those are apartments!
Shavethewhales Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 The lack of an actual coaster riding along the top disappoints me.
canadianparkfan Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 ^Wonder if any parks this side of the pond have the same thought. New resort perhaps?
BeansproutMidget Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 *calls up Cedar Point asking for a new hotel in shape of skyline*
Nrthwnd Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Well, I spotted this from the bus, on our TPR tour through Scandinavia, back in 2014... Millennium Force Apartments?
BeansproutMidget Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 ^ Could definately be MF apartments.
The Angry Darren Mullins Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 I am surprised that some people thought my message was spam as the link contains the words roller and coaster. I am going to Beihai today. If this place is finished, I will take photos of it.
DoinItForTheFame Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Am I the only one who thinks these things are incredibly ugly??
A.J. Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 No, you're not. I also think that they're excessive, and they basically wall off the view of the coast for the people who live near the site.
gerstlaueringvar Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Lets face it it looks more like worm holes on a piece of lettuce than roller coasters.
Nrthwnd Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 The other thing that could happen, that once this thing is built, it could - take - for - e - ver to be occupied. In the 2012 TPR China Tour, I couldn't believe the number of fully built apartment complexes just sitting where they were, with no occupancy whatsoever! When I thought of a lot of world housing that is scarce and not so available, I realized this was just a crime of planning and building, if it's not occupied, right? Sorry to be a downer about it. But still. Could happen.
DoinItForTheFame Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 ...I also think that they're excessive, and they basically wall off the view of the coast for the people who live near the site. This is true. I never even thought of that, but it is ruining the view for a lot of people who lived there well before this project ever came along. Lets face it it looks more like worm holes on a piece of lettuce than roller coasters. This is so true!! I can see it now "Worm hole apartments: Lettuce(let us) make you feel at home."
Nrthwnd Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 ^ When has that stopped developers from designing, building, and selling a complex that suddenly blocks a ''view' from somebody else's home? It happens here all the time, unfortunately. Just noting. And the "worm holes on lettuce" theming works for me much better.
A.J. Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 This should probably be moved to the Random, Random, Random forum now... To my understanding, the condition of the market is that all these apartments are bought up purely as investments and left unoccupied, to be resold later. This sort of gentrification is also beginning to happen here in the US.
Suspence1127 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Lets face it it looks more like worm holes on a piece of lettuce than roller coasters. the only thing that would make me like this is if they put a rollercoaster on top of it. These building are super ugly
