cfc Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 It's not really a ride song but, the new ride safety procedure announcement on rides at Dorney Park is annoying. It sounded like a really bad rap to me! What was wrong with the old automated voices that I heard in videos from previous years? During my two day visit for the first time at Dorney Park back in June, the "ride safety rap" kind of got annoying but, other than that, the park had an amazing collection of rides and roller coasters! Those safety raps were hilariously bad.
rcjp Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 ^I'd say they're so bad they're good. Haha it was pretty fun. Small World. This isn't even a contest. dt It's funny many people share this opinion as I do enjoy it. I guess it reminds me of my childhood (some of the better moments).
RAWKIN_coaster38 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Besides Small World, the Turtle Trek song at Seaworld Orlando takes the cake. When you're stuck in the rain and have to hear that song loop over and over and over and over again... "Jourrrneyyyy onnnnn!!! Jouuurrrneyyy onnnnn!!! Journeeyyy Onnn!!!" We counted the word "journey" 27 times in the minute and a half loop. It wasn't so bad when you just heard a little of it when exiting the ride, but after listening for almost 2 hours just...no I couldn't find it on Youtube but it's on iTunes Under "Seaworld Attraction" and "Journey On."
Geauga Dog Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The spiel for Waldameer's Whacky Shack can get annoying really quick since there is literally no break in the loop from when it ends to when it starts over again. Plus it doesn't help that the line can be one of the slowest moving for what is one of the best rides in the park.
X2coasterfreak Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Also, I don't know if it's changed since I was there about 5 years ago, but Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit's queue had some of the dumbest, most annoying videos and songs (maybe it was just videos) in its queue that I've ever endured. Oh dear god, waiting in that line is pretty unbearable thanks to those videos. So awful.
KBrylczyk Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I don't have a "most annoying ride song" but I can tell you my favorite station music! That's the Mortal Kombat theme. Guess I shouldn't be surprised Six Flags won't spend money for somehting semi-original.
boldikus Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 That's the Mortal Kombat theme. Guess I shouldn't be surprised Six Flags won't spend money for somehting semi-original. What makes you assume they didn't spend money on that? Its being publicly broadcasted and the song is copyrighted so I would assume they did have to pay for the rights to use it (tho maybe not, I have no idea). And more to the point, how is this less "original" than, say... Cedar Fair using a Republica track for TTD's station music? Or are we just in the mood to bash Six Flags? For the record, was being sarcastic when I said this was my favorite station music, I think its funny more than anything. But as with any station music that repeats all day, I feel for the ops.

Some people just make it a sport to bash Six Flags, yet they still attend the parks regularly

One note change is the difference between paying royalties or abusing the privilege. For further information, look up Vanilla Ice vs. Queen and David Bowie for the use of Under Pressure. I could also be completely misinformed and they did buy the rights to it. How the heck should I know? I hardly care enough about coaster music to research the history and usage rights behind it. It's still a horrible song. Cedar Fair straight up used a well known song that they bought the rights to. At least it's a good song.

firewalk13 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 My vote goes to X-Flight at Geauga Lake/SWOA, listening to "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi on repeat would probably have given me an aneurysm if I had to listen to it all day.
