DorneyKid14 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I'm all for Steel Force making this list but honestly, how is it higher than Kingda Ka? And how is Kingda Ka 49th in the world? And i305 should be higher.
Coaster Hero Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 ^^ They still shouldn't be separated by more than 50+ spots though! I think it's because Bizarro actually has a good layout and some great airtime and forces while the other clones do absolutely nothing. Have you ridden either of the clones? Because they are both amazing rides that combine speed with amazing ejector airtime. The forces are far more intense than pretty much all B&Ms on that list. Bizarro is superior to both, but they're not that far off. Not only is that poll a popularity contest, but the smaller parks don't get appreciated as much either. If anything all Intamin hypers should be on that list before a Morgan hyper even touches the top 50. Completely agree. The R:OS clones are ridiculously underrated.

I'm not for Stell Force making the list, and Ka is extremely painful and unreliable as compared to TTD Maybe Top Thrill Dragster was just having a bad stretch in the beginning of June, but that ride seemed to be down more often than it was open. Kingda Ka only had one 20ish minute breakdown when I was at Six Flags last month. I agree Top Thrill Dragster is smoother and the lack of shoulder restraints makes it better, but the difference in ride isn't that huge.
coasterbill Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 At least from what I've seen Dragster and Ka are probably about the same as far as reliability goes (see: not reliable at all). Ka seems like it breaks down less now that it can't launch many trains thanks to Zumanjaro. Dragster puts a ridiculous amount of trains through per hour. I've never understood the huge gap in rating between the 2 though. Even if you prefer Dragster and find Ka rattly I still don't think Dragster should be ranked that much higher.

Always had worse restraints, but now it has even more deplorable capacity. I can understand it.
Brent York Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Besides all the obvious bad choices near the top of both lists, would anyone actually rather ride Steel Force over Kingda Ka, or Shockwave over nearly any below it (other than Steel Force)?

I would rather ride Steel Force than Kingda Ka, unless I'm in the front 2 cars of KK.
DoinItForTheFame Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Not going to lie, I was shocked to see Maverick place as low as it did.
CP Maverick Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Not going to lie, I was shocked to see Maverick place as low as it did. Most voters probably rode it with the original shoulder restraints, which hurts the ride-ability of the ride.

Plus because of the way the entrance to the station is set up, the line is always longer for the middle/back rows and the second and third rows are usually quick waits, around 1-3 trains. The very front is freaking amazing though. To put it into perspective, if the second row were a 1, the front row would be 100. It's that much of a difference. Much smoother ride, seeing the entire track (I'm aware there's stadium seating but still), and all the wind in your face make it so much better But yeah, I've never understood why there is such an enormous gap between TTD and KK since they are very similar. The only real things that would differentiate the 2 in rankings are the restraints, the roughness, and the extra height and airtime hill.

Many people, feel the far superior restraints and smooth ride of TTD, far outweigh a little more speed and height with KK. I'm still waiting for the airtime high to provide some airtime, so that has no bearing to me.

Yeah I know I say this a lot but I don't get why anyone wastes their time riding anywhere other than the front row on Ka. It's a ridiculously awesome experience in that seat.
