Including Bon Bon Land, is wrong. But then, this is someone from the USA who probably hasn't been there.

And they obviously don't know that all this "gross stuff" is actually based on Candy! And the crowds there don't

seem to mind the strange names and character figures that inhabit the park. Add to that, some really good

play areas that help exercise the kids (and adults if they dare!), and plenty of stuff to keep kids occupied.

My 5 cents.

And this was there back in 2009. An RollerCoasterTycoon popcorn stand! (TPR Scandi Tour)

Yea Bon-Bon land definitely shouldn't be on that list. But i think action park should definitely be taken off too. The way they talk about is like they're trying to kill you. The way they talk about the new looping slide is like that they're just reopinging the exact same dangerous version that was their originally.

Oh yeah! Holy Land! I think they had a TOGO standup coaster named "Mount Golgotha Experience". I still think that being flogged, tortured, and then crucified isn't as painful as a TOGO standup. (and mean streak for that matter)

I hadn't heard about Action Park redoing that crazy looping waterslide.

That's awesome - despite the fact that I probably wouldn't ride it.

You'll be riding in a capsule contraption that won't allow your body to touch the slide itself.

Should be far less dangerous, but will definitely scare off plenty of people anyways.

Case in point, the park plans to reopen its dangerous cannonball loop waterslide in 2016, 20 years after the original slide was shut down in the 80’s over safety concerns.

2016...is 20 years after the 1980s. Journalism.

Bon Bon Land should not be on this list.

I wish I could go to the 80s version of Action Park, it sounds like a good time (if I make it out alright). They got my vote.

I just posted the same thing the other day in the "what defunct park intrigues you most" thread, I totally agree! It sounds and looks like so much fun, even if people were getting hurt. I guess a lot of the slides are still around, but it looks like they make you wear helmets and stuff... probably a really good call, but not the most fun thing on a hot day!

I'm sure you've seen these if you've looked into this place, but they deserve to be reposted for how awesome they are

Found these from the DoD3 website- excellent reading and a lot of it "worst theme park" related (redneck carnival rides)

My mother went there all the time as a kid. God, she has a lot of stories about how her and my two uncles were one giant scab after riding the alpine slide.
