soilooklikemanson Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Six Flags Mexico, a park seldomly visit by U.S. enthusiasts. Not sure why, IMHO, it's the best park in the Six Flags chain. The attention to detail with theming in the ques and beyond is outstanding. Last year, RMC renovated Medusa and did a fine job. But, that's not all the goodies from this park. This year they open a 200 some odd foot Sky Screamer and two years ago, they got Tony Hawks/Pandemonium from SFDK. Turned it into the Joker and did another outstanding job. OK.....onward..... Slim Shady......Guess who's back? Back again... For starters, look hard in this photo. If you can find a selfie stick, I'll buy you a beer. Unlike other parks. People in Mexico are very courteous. Third trip down here and still haven't seen line jumping or basketballs flying all over the place. A pleasant surprise. Shall I cut to the chase? Why not.... Say it slowly. ..Inverted First Drop. .... Beautiful and awesome airtime. First inverted drop is comparable to the last half of a cobra roll, with a longer fall time. Numerous high banked turns followed by a zero g roll, airtime hills and the finally. .. long zero g roll so awesome, it will be incorporated in twisted colossus. REAL WINNER HERE. The fun doesn't start when you get on the ride. The que is amazing. If you visited the park before the RMC renovation. There was a tilted shack next to wooden Medusa. Bottle rolls up hill, mystery spot type attraction. They didn't tear it down. The line goes through it. Playing with your equalibrium before you even board the train. The que is askew...... BRILLIANT! I didn't get a train photo. I saw this and was turned to stone. But, the trains are VERY comfortable. Lap bars with shin restraints. Machined very well and designed perfectly. Onward to Superman El Ultimate Escape. Awesome Morgan Hyper with airtime before the lift hill. And over a minute of out of your seat airtime throughout. Sexy entrance. In the que, you find all the news that's fit for El Printo. ... Some Super dude works here. Food choice premier, the saloon, also has an almost full bar Belly up to the bar y'all. El boozeo... about 5 bucks per shot, or beer. And for about 20 bucks.... El STEAKO GRANDE with beero Jokes on Tony Hawk, a pandemonious rework. Don't spend to much time in the saloon or you will fall on your butt in the Joker que. It's a fun house. Once again...BRILLIANT. Spinny spinny. Choppy choppy. S & S drop tower and a haunted castle that used to house Vampire infestation maze Vampire infestation was a tame maze. 3 DOLLar up charge and this will add a bit of poop to your pantalones. Terrifying. Sky Screamer is almost done. The area around it is closed including Batman, a Vekoma SLC. so I suppose the area will be themed AWESOMELY! Lost in translation, but it beats sheety wok! Mouse in a box Not just your average boomerang. There's some history to it. It's the first one. Also, is the slowest lift hill EVER. Grannies grand prix? In conclusion. SFMEXICO is an awesome park. The also have a great dolphin and sea lion show, a roller skater, Cobra clone, sling shot and thoroughly GREAT STAFF. Ride op's hustle and food is great. Visiting is a MUST. And they always have the best rates for world wide gold passes. About 60 bucks. Hope you liked the report. Edited March 3, 2015 by robbalvey
Nrthwnd Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 This is definitely one of my favourite Six Flags parks, too. When TPR was there in late March 2013, I could have stayed several more hours, enjoying it all day (read: beer). Â Great TR - thanks for sharing it, Cliff! By the way...beer still good there? (part of a) Happy TPR Tour - SFMexico March, 2013 Ah memories....
WFChris Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Cool report! I'll be there Friday and I hear that the area around Sky Screamer MIGHT be open by then (the official opening date for Sky Screamer is Saturday but I'm hoping for something soft). Â So happy to hear that the crooked house was repurposed!!!
thrillseeker4552 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Great report! I recently watched some Medusa POVs and Offride videos on Youtube, and man, it looks like the best RMC yet. It hauls a$$!!! I'm surprised people aren't talking about it as much as they are Goliath, Outlaw Run, etc.
soilooklikemanson Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Of course the beer still rocks there. And yes, it is one kick butt RMC. not much attention Givin cause too many people are frightened of Mexico... foolish. The place is beautiful.
DarienLaker Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I didn't know that Six Flags Mexico is home to the first Boomerang coaster ever!
boldikus Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Great report. This seems to be a really nice SF park, I'd love to check it out for Medusa alone.
soilooklikemanson Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 I should have thought of this earlier.... Robb did some great video POV'S in Mexico 2 years ago. Go to youtube and look up TPR Mexico. Lot's of good video.
WFChris Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Cliff, you inspired me to check out some of those videos, and yeah, 2:55 of this video pretty much sums it up: Â
soilooklikemanson Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 Oh yeah.... 2:55.... the money shot.
singemfrc Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 You're right, the park is often overlooked, and you're right, it shouldn't be. After this TR I'm convinced I need to get down there soon. Between Medusa, Superman, Boomerang #1, and Joker (SFDK is my home park, I like to ride things after they've been relocated!) this should have been on my radar sooner. I'll need to get a passport, I haven't been down there since Customs started requiring it!
chadster Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Can;t wait for when you show me around for a change, viva mexico
fatdaddy Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I shall have to plan a trip to this Mexico you speak of.
