Park Workers, Craziest things you have seen at the parkl?

Recommended Posts

Not being a staff member but can put in my own observation about closed ride & Fastpass at WDW:

It's amazing how fast a line formed in front of broken down Space Mountain at the Fastpass line. The ops at the Fastpass entry really needs a megaphone to make himself heard - now he had to explain to every (!) person that the ride was broken. And of course some guests argued with red head waving their Fastpasses - it's always hard for me not to laugh out loud at such a display...

I worked at a park where the looping coaster train had to do a last circuit of the track empty to park in the shed over night on the brake run. Attendants traditionally got strapped in and sent round as a bit of a treat. One time as we passed the operators cabin the operator was not in it. He was actually sat on top of the restraints i have never been so scared in my life, especially when he stood up on the helix and was almost decapitated.

Stupid teenagers rent strollers for toddlers, instead get in it themselves and have their friends then throw themselves down hills at Kings Island. Seen a couple stupid crashes, they laugh it off then security takes them away.

Classic Ohio. Classic.

I'll never forget this for as long as I live. It was a slow day at the Boardwalk, and I'm running riptide. Lots of guests are reriding 2 or 3 times. (WHY I have no idea, but whatever floats your boat!)

This one girl asks seductively "Can I ride again...????" Of course I let her reride, and as the ride runs its course, the woman HAD AN ORGASM ON THE RIDE. She didn't scream, but her face was unmistakable.

Worse still, she... went all the way. We thought she had peed on the ride. The fountains were off that day. It wasnt pee... D:

We TRIPLE gloved it. SO nasty.

Wow...

By the way, by "Boardwalk", do you mean Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk?

No, it was the boardwalk at knott's. It's funny... I heard some little boy go "Look! She's crying! She's REALLY scared!"

Yeah. ... Thaaat's what it was.

it's always hard for me not to laugh out loud at such a display...

Not me. I GUFFAW. I point. Some castmembers grin from ear to ear at this. Only a couple got annoyed at it, but hey. It was still funny. If anyone were to start beef, I'd be as frank as ever: "What part of the RIDE IS BROKEN... do you NOT get?" :3

FYI, I have zero sympathy for cigarette smokers and their addiction. We go above and beyond what we are required to do by offering designated smoking areas. There are no laws requiring designated smoking areas, so appreciate the fact we even offer them, and please, make good use of them.

Really? You think smoking areas are a privilege? You think the park is "going above and beyond" to observe and respect smokers rights? I don't need your sympathy either. I understand that my habit is not preferable to many, however smokers have rights, and cigarettes are not illegal. If the park did not have smoking areas, and provided the park/state doesn't have rules/laws about smoking in public; we smokers could and would smoke wherever we wanted. I consider my self a "respectful" smoker and have no problems observing the parks rules by using their designated smoking areas, but your statement is just asinine.

so appreciate the fact we even offer them, and please, make good use of them.

You should appreciate the fact that many smokers accept these stipulations, and most do make good use of them.

^Not to get this thread off track, but when you are in a theme park you are on private property. You automatically agree to their terms (which could include being completely non-smoking) by entering the park.

^ I completely agree. Any park can set out their own rules and regulations, but I also believe that most parks are not willing to accept the loss of business and revenue by choosing to eradicate smokers. Out of curiosity, are there any completely "non-smoking" parks out there?

Don't want to derail the thread, that comment just sounded a little too biased for me. Now back to the conversation, these stories are fun to hear about!

Saw two guys just pissing in the bushes off the midway over by Maverick last summer. Then once I got in the station, there was a handicapped guy trying to get on the train. He said he didn't need any help as he crawled across the seats. To everyone else in the station that didn't hear him though, it looked like the employees were intentionally being rude and not helping at all. As someone else got off the ride, he just started cussing and telling off all the employees for not helping the handicapped guy. He went towards the employee stairs to the station though, so he had to turn back around and keep up his tough guy act as he walked to the actual exit.
