beatle11
Great pictures Hanno! Sorry, this is late but I am so happy someone got a shot of the bathrooms at Crab Island. I have discribed them to friends, but no one can imagine. Brings back some memories....... Horrific memories!!! I seriously walked in while someone was "mid dump" and I had to walk RIGHT back out! lol That is absolutely horrifying. I'm almost glad I wasn't on the trip. Nice photos Hanno, as always. cfc
I walked into that bathroom, took a look, and decided to hold it until later. It was scarier than anything at Halloween Horror Night in Orlando this year.
Meteornotes
This PTR contains a photo of the scariest coaster ever (I cannot believe that thing is still operating!) and one of the greatest Larry photos ever. Nice job! dt

disneymoc
^ I understand that but everything is as scary as this year's Halloween Horror Nights....including the Wacky Factory at Lake Winnie.
cfc
^Thou hast spoke aright. Looking forward to seeing more of your China photos, Hanno. Even when I'm on the same trip, you always manage to capture things that I missed.

Imagine what Orlando would look like if they stopped stocking the bathrooms with toilet paper. On another note, this was easily the most messed up theme park I've been to... but I haven't been to most of the Chinese ones that were covered on this years tours, so that may not be saying much. Hhappy
Second park during day 2 was Sun Park. I believe this area was used or beach volleyball during the olympics? gisco
That is where they did the beach volleyball. You could still see the remnants of it when we were there in 08.
cfc
I loved it when they did the "lineup" to determine who would ride on the spaceship kiddie coaster based on size. I don't recall anybody being denied, though. It was also great how Robb and Elissa ensured that everyone would get the credits there.
Hhappy
Day 3: Happy Valley Beijing Fun day at the park. This park looked nice and was pretty big (compared to most of the parks in China).. It was also a first encounter with extreme staggered opening times.. as in the SLC would not open that day untill early evening (if memory serves me right) Waiting in line appeared to be a favorite passtime as the lines were verey long (as soon as rides opened). Very happy that we had some filming time on the biggest/most important coasters All in all: hot, fun day at the park i guess the rain dance worked.. there's some blue sky (which is apparently very unique in Beijing) looks like we made it yeah, Happy Valley KFC happy time??? ehm... don't look at the red bit.. it's down for the count.. surf's up what? just some random bits of theming getting closer holy ***** that does look impressive so many details to look at (if you want to) waiting for the train to enter the station getting closer too fast what's up with the donkey's? i don't remember it being bad.. i guess this was an ad of some kind? Halloween?? Himalaya theming and a store just look at what a bit of theming can do for a ride if you are hungry.. you could go there lots and lots of green bird.. mine train.. fun a man and his dog stop spitting in the distance let's walk a bit more it just looks so impressive (with the theming) who dropped this engine? it's a bridge (i guess) no movement here moring maintenance before the ride would open at noon more random theming lots of yummie yellow kids area (i think) down for the count stop teasing me so close.. a well.. better luck next time but wait.. there's still another section to this park where is Travis Pastrana? Horse.. Greece? it's poncho time.. skloosh that's pretty impressive here they go.. it's green dang stop laughing at me.. i know i suck at captions did not see the show look, it's moving yummie watch out for that... another look at the mine train see, mine train ehm?? Larry?? are you taking a dump?? or?? ehm// happy riders track... and then it almost looks like you are in some sort of city park opposed to a themepark.. ehmm aha, double lifthill fun water play area dang.. that's a long line.. Crystal Wing random riders passing by looking up waiting in line.. what goes up... is about to go down.. working those neck muscles pretty profile against the sky it looks so tiny drop towers are always fun ehmm?? scream if you are having a great time these vehicles kept on showing up in all kinds of big parks.. shuttle service of some kind.. nothing to see here don't know what to say thanks for an interesting experience when in eijing.. you might as well check out the watercube... some other olympic stuff and this thing.. that's it folks

rollin_n_coastin
Hanno, another great perspective on Chinese parks. Happy Valley looks like one of the nicer/ nicest parks on the mainland so far. Love the random theming
DBru
I really cannot stand the new color schemes at this Happy Valley park. In my opinion, they contrast way too much with the theming, which really takes away from all the beautiful details. I feel like Crystal Wing's old colors were much more fitting and aesthetically pleasing. But anyway, great pictures, Hanno! Thanks for sharing.
