deathbydinn Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Euro Star, was a traveling inverted coaster, now off the circuit and operating at Gorky Park. http://www.rcdb.com/4242.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYPLI9Gbiio
Cole Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I'm sure the reason Intamin doesn't build more is simply because B&M does them better.
RollerCoasterSmi Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 ^ Or because less parks demand Intamin inverts?
DefinitiveDetour Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Also, don't forget that when B&M first started they supplied a few coasters to Intamin.
XYZ Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 It seems Intamin ripped-off B&M in Euro Star with a box track and 4 abreast seating. Also, Intamin seems more interested in launched inverts since there is much more demand.
Schotcher Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 ^^^ That's because they first started out working for Giovanola....
robbalvey Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) It seems Intamin ripped-off B&M in Euro Star with a box track and 4 abreast seating. That wasn't an Intamin-designed coaster, it was Giovanola. Know what you're talking about before you speak out of your ass. Also, Intamin seems more interested in launched inverts since there is much more demand. Aside from their shuttle coasters, Intamin has only ever built one custom launched invert, and that was 13 years ago. WTF are you even talking about??? Edited October 9, 2011 by robbalvey
Gutterflower Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I would assume he meant the Impulse inverts. Intamin did seem to do quite a brisk trade with those, Although perhaps its slowed a bit now I quite like both the non launched Intamin Inverts (Tornado and Tornado ), I think its a pity that they haven't been picked up by a few more parks.
_koppen Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 I think its a pity that they haven't been picked up by a few more parks. It would be so epic if we would se an inverted Intamin Blitz coaster, with multiple launches, low to the ground turns and a big loop or two. One can dream..
sammmmmy Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 ^ As much as Tornado and Tornado ( ) are good rides, I never really understood their layouts. I love the barrel rolls but the rides don't seem to have amazing 'flow' like the beemers, if you know what I mean.
DBru Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Whoa. Euro Star has a double-corkscrew? That's cool.
Jew Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 IIRC, Giovanola actually owned the patents on the box track design/fabrication process.
