TDB
Hey everybody! I am a new member to Theme Park Review; I have been visiting the site for quite some time and finally decided to make an account and start this thread. Kennywood is my home park, for those of you who have never been there I strongly recommend going. The atmosphere at Kennywood is fantastic and is truly something that no other amusement park can duplicate. It is such a photogenic place, I could spend hours just walking around and taking pictures. I wouldn't really call myself a professional, I just have fun doing it. This particular batch of photos is from August 2009. I will post more photos later. Enjoy! gisco
Nice pictures. One of the guys I work with has been there a couple of times and has really loved it. One of these days I will make it up into that part of the country.

beatle11
I just visited for the first time in August and was not disappointed. Definitely one of my favorite parks.

Myself
If you lived on the west coast, it'd be worth the trip. Not to sound biased or anything, but...
MayTheGForceBeWithYou
Yes, this park has one of the best atmospheres of any place I've seen. Your photos captured the charm of the park wonderfully.

odene497
I made my first visit to Kennywood a few months ago and was blown away. I think in my top 3 of parks. I just loved the atmosphere, the food, and EVERY coaster was good (if not amazing). I can't wait to get back again.
cal1br3tto
Great photos! Kennywood has such an unusual collection of rides. I'm glad people still find the classics worthwhile.
GeorgeT
That Park looks very well landscaped...not to mention the great collection of rides. Thanks for sharing !
palmerleeberry
Coastermaniac asked that since he lives in Cleveland, is it worth the trip to Kennywood? Pal, no matter where you are coming from, Kennywood is always worth the trip ( even if you must pay some toll fare to drive on the parkway that connects Cleveland to Pittsburg, the trip will always be worth it. ). I was there during Memorial weekend on a Saturday, and it was CROWD-ED!!! It was so crowded that actually ran two trains on The Phantom's Revenge, plus it was the first time (on the many trips I have made to Kennywood) that I saw them run the Skyride. So, after I left the park, I decided to take a ride on it. The Skyride took me over the parking lot, over the hill, and into the top most parking lot (AKA - Level 3). But because the Skyride is old and due to park policy, they can only run one side at a time (In Other Words - If you parked your vehicle in Level 3, you can ride the Skyride down to the park during the afternoon, and ride it up to your parking lot during evening). Since I was parked on Level 2 and a shuttle bus was nowhere to be found, I had to walk all the way down to Level two, and all the way to my vehicle. So here is a little warning I must give to all you riders and amusement park flyers: unless the park is CROWD-ED and you aren't parked in Level 3, don't ride the Skyway lest you want to walk a lot on the return trip. "Hey, if you ride me, I won't make you walk on the return trip."
TDB
I recently purchased a new camera and decided to resurrect this thread. I was a Kennywood team member for the past four seasons. The photos on the previous page were taken the day I had my team member orientation in 2009. Last year, after graduating high school and beginning college, I decided to turn in my badge. Working at Kennywood was a truly unique experience that I will never forget. This is my first summer as a season pass holder. It’s amazing how working at an amusement park can change your perspective of the industry. I think the following photos capture how I see the park now, because I realize there is more to an amusement park than extreme coasters and white-knuckle thrill rides. I believe the little details are just as important. Enjoy! Any feedback will be appreciated. There are more photos on my Flickr photostream: Thanks! Tanks4me05
The picture with the flowers in the foreground and with Racer and Log Jammer in the background has the potential to be a fantastic photo, however the exposure was set far too high. If you used manual exposure mode on your camera (assuming your camera is good enough to have that option) you should have dialed it down until you got a rich blue in the sky, but not so rich that the flowers get too dark to see. peytonsgirl83
Your pictures are beautiful! I love the one with the flowers in the foreground. Thanks for posting all of these; visiting in August for the first time. Can not wait

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I'm a broke college student, so I had to settle for a cheaper camera. I have a Nikon Coolpix L610, a simple "point and shoot" digital camera. Other than the basic modes (auto, indoor, outdoor, etc.) there aren't many options available.

Riextol
Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. The last time I was here, I focused mainly on the thrill rides, and missed most of the atmosphere.
