shivtim
Most looking forward to Notre Dame vs. Michigan. First ever night game in the Big House. Got my tix; flying up to Detroit tonight!
Hilltopper39
Yeah that should be a great game atmosphere to be at. I haven't seen too much press coverage of the game about the lights, are they temporary for this game only or is that a permanent thing for the future? As much as I hate Michigan it's good for college football when they are relevant and playing at the elite level that they once were, and I think Hoke was a great hire and will get them back to that level. While your there will you do me a favor and tell Denard Robinson to tie his shoes?
osm
^I think the lights are long-term. UM-ND is the game I'm looking forward to the most as well, as a Michigan fan. While your there will you do me a favor and tell Denard Robinson to tie his shoes? NEVER!!!

dammie16@vt.edu
MU/ND = TERRIBAD defense. Coming from an Alumni of a team that scores more on defense then offense I was thoroughly disgusted by those two teams last night. Still entertaining though haha
Jew
You should be more disgusted by the fact Virginia Tech barely beat ECU.
dammie16@vt.edu
Oh I was trust me. Though for some reason they trouble us more often then not. Just the last five years it was '07 - Win 17-7 (Marcus Vick) '08 - Loss 22-27 (Glennon) '09 - Win 16-3 (Glennon) '10 - Win 49-27 (Tyrod) '11 - Win 17-10 (Logan) So yeh they do trouble us quite a bit, aside from Tyrod. After that game though, it looks like GT may have it. Hokies just don't have the QB good enough to throw to our outstanding receivers.
shivtim
Oklahoma v Florida State is the game to watch next weekend... maybe those of us at Deep South Bash can find a place to watch it.
Hilltopper39
^yeah, I was planning on finding somewhere to watch it. I think it's an 8 pm eastern kick off so I'll probably just watch the second half at the hotel after ERT is over. I'm probably going to leave the park sometime after lunch and relax somewhere and watch some games in the middle of the day. But yeah that FSU Oklahoma game should be a great game, I'm also looking forward to LSU at Miss. State on Thursday night. I think LSU is the better team but Thursday Night games can get weird, especially on the road in the SEC.
tdub96
^The weird Thursday night games where anything can happen, makes for great TV IMO. Some of the other ones I remember are Dennis Dixon and Oregon vs. Arizona where Dixon broke his leg and lost his shot at the Heisman...and down went the Ducks with their #2 ranking. Before that there was Matt Grothe leading USF past #2 WVU, and then later Pitt shattered WVU's BCS berth with a LeSean McCoy-led upset of the Mountaineers. I'm sure theres much more, but when I think of the wild Thursday night games, these come to mind.
Hilltopper39
Yeah, Thursday nighters are always pretty exciting games but can get weird. I know the one Thursday night game I played in we were at home and your entire game day routine is screwed up because we still had to go to class in the morning. On a normal game day, depending on game time, there is a late morning wake up call and breakfast then meetings and a walk through then time to hang out get off your feet and relax before reporting to pregame meal which was always 4 hours before kickoff. On the Thursday night game it was 7am breakfast, 8am-3pm class then a rushed pre game routine. I felt like as the home team we were slightly disadvantaged from a preparation standpoint when that shouldn't be the case.
ParkTrips
From a students perspective, Thursday night games are awesome. Class - tailgate - class - tailgate - game - post-game party. So happy that my school plays at least one every year! (... but I can see how the athletes are screwed up. Never thought of the away team having somewhat of an advantage either, but it makes sense)
CoasterGuy06
Good thing Miss State cancelled class today! Although I can't say anything, because Alabama didn't have class last year when we had a Thursday night game.
shivtim
Most looking forward to this weekend: Arkansas @ Bama OK State @ TX A&M North Carolina @ GA Tech
Hilltopper39
LSU@ WVU should be an interesting game even though LSU might destroy them and only win by 12. Florida State at Clemson should be good as well one team coming off a huge win one coming off a disappointing loss both with a lot to play for. stingrock23
This really might be the best defense LSU has ever had. Just speed, speed, and more speed. LSU will do to WV the same thing they did to Oregon and Miss. St. There are about 12 - 13 guys they rotate in and out and don't miss a beat. The offense isn't there yet, but it's coming along. The scary part? Pretty much everybody on defense will be back next year.
CoasterGuy06
This whole expansion thing is really starting to drive me crazy. Funny how really one school has caused it all too.

CoasterGuy06
Loving the Alabama/Arkansas 10 TD's of 50 or more yards since 2008. I don't know what Bobby Petrino did to Nick Saban, but wow
shivtim
Games I'm most looking forward to today: Florida-LSU, Oklahoma-Texas, and Auburn-Arkansas are the three obvious big games. I think Missouri-Kansas State will be interesting... a test if KSU really deserves to be ranked before they head into their super-tough late season games. Iowa-Penn State should be good. I think both teams are evenly matched. We'll see how Iowa's offense does against PSU's defense.
osm
Only thing worse than watching Michigan fail to defend the option repeatedly is listening to the moronic announcers.
DiSab
No fan base should have to endure Joe Bauserman. None. I dunno why Fickell doesn't give Kenny Guiton a shot, especially if Braxton can't play next weekend. There's no way he's worse than Bauserman. ParkTrips
6-0. A weak 6-0, but still 6-0. Only team in our division without a conference loss - I'll take it. The Clempson game will be huge
CoasterGuy06
Not much standing between an undefeated showdown between Alabama and LSU on November 5th. Game of the year?
Philrad71
What a crazy story with Penn State, Sandusky, Paterno...what a total disaster. It's starting to sound like the Roman Catholic church priest abuse scandal. It's strange that I was just talking with someone a couple of weeks ago about Paterno and how long he had been at Penn State and what a great college football program they have and now this. Just wow.
