SLUSHIE Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I know there has been similar stuff like this before but... What would you do if you were to purchase Six Flags? One thing I know I would do is re-name the parks. I would return all the parks names to their original names, except for the origional 6. Six Flags Magic Mountain would become Magic Mountain, Six Flags Marine World would become Marine World Africa U.S.A. ect. It would be done how like Cedar Fair does their parks, where they say "A Cedar Fair L.P. Park" and all the parks would become "A Six Flags Park." I think thats how Six Flags should have done it from the begining, It just makes more sence to me that way.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Put at least one Starbucks in every park, change the names of rides who share names with ten other coasters, take out most or all of the Vekoma stock clones, put grass under Scream! at SFMM, put a great coaster in the parks that don't have many such as SFNO, SFStL, SFKK, and SFDL, put actual good shows in the parks, take out all of the go kart tracks, make the small Seattle area SF park a great one with a lot of great coasters, I would sell all the rides I take out and not send them to SFAW, make it a rule that nobody could wear "swimming equipment" in the actual park, replace Flashback with a shuttle loop, play good, new various rock music throughout every park, have employs scanning every line for line jumpers, make it a rule that no "undershirt tank tops" are allowed in the park, and some other stuff I can't think of right now.
Coasterlicious Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I would give the ghetto SF's some good stuff.. forget about Magic Mountain and Great Adventure..
AllisonY2K Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 agreed, I would add some grass and theming to Scream since, and I quote, "they just plopped it down on a corner of the parking lot without even an attempt to theme it." (the great Robb in an LA Times article) Then again, they did that for Shockwave at SFGAm. granted it's not there now but still, they plopped that one down in the parking lot too. I would make a few "bored spouse waiting areas" throughout the park for those who are in love with coaster enthusiasts but don't like coasters themselves and are already tired of the flat rides and shows. a nice air conditioned room with a tv showing movies, another room with a tv for regular television shows, some couches with tables of magazines to read, some vending machines, a few phones to make local calls, and a brochure stand of tourist information and attractions. oh, and a kiddie play area - one inside and one outside. it would be decorated in calming colors since I'm sure those who will be using this facility are already mad at their spouse for just letting them go on a couple coasters "just one more time...please?!"
robbalvey Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 You mean if you "bought" Six Flags! --Robb "Please try to at least spell the words in the topic title correctly!" Alvey
ParkTrips Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 ^They already tried that. I don't think a SF would really fit the Florida "vibe" well anyways. Right away I would sell Darinen Lake, Elitch's and Astroworld. I would then raise season pass prices across the board by 25% or so over the period of the first two-three years (with MM and the two "Great's" being the exception because they are already pretty high). Contrary to the belief of one person who posted here, their SP prices are under-priced. I would however lower concessions fees. I would then try to market to families better, and add a Paramount-esque kids area to each park, or greatly improve existing areas. I would also add at least a water play area if not a full-blown park because they bring people in big time. I would then raise wages and be more stingy regarding who I hire. IMHO just adding some grass beneath Scream wouldn't do too much, it would still be a coaster just plopped down in an empty space, a la Canada's Wonderland.
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I asked my 9 year old daughter how to spell "Bought" ... she spelled it right.
SLUSHIE Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 Considering it's spell it correctly, I have no idea what your all talking about.
Erik Johnson Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Its because it has been corrected, probably by Robb. It was spelled "baught" earlier today. It has since been corrected.
ChrisFL Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I dont' want a Six Flags in Florida, then we'd have to see commercials with that old guy...I'd have never even known about him if it wasn't for this message board!
MF310ryb Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 If I bought Six Flags I would give more money for staffing to help make it more efficient on the rides and other departments. Forget building new rides fix what is already in the parks.
AllisonY2K Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 ooo! ooo! I forgot to add: Move Flashback to the Six Flags in Washington and give it a Mt. Ranier theme. that park needs more coasters. or paint it green and call it Son of Greezed Lightnin'. whatever works.
Angry_Gumball Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I thought it was spelt "bot"... j/k Anyway, I would take the time and theme the rides, rename the rides so we don't have so many "Vipers" or "Medusas." The parks would also not be Six Flags _____, but just the parks name with fine print below saying "A park"
coasterguy618 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 What i would do if i bought Six Flags: Make every park have better flats Make them more themed Extend KK a little bit more if it is possible Give all the smaller parks better coasters Take away Flashback, give it to a smaller park, put an impulse in its area Demolish Psyclone, put a wooden twister Drop the Six Flags name, and make every park be for example, Magic Mountain, Marine World, Great Adventure etc, and the that are Six flags over somthing have new names. That's about it.
FlyingScooter Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I'd see to it that the parks are cleaner. I'd have the bathrooms manned from open to close for the sake of cleanliness. I'd only charge .50 cents for ATM withdraws instead of 3.00!
tinhead Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I would make all TPR members ride testers and restrict ACE members entry till 1pm in the afternoon, so other patrons would have chance to eat.
QuakerOaties Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I'd hope that half of the parks would burn down so I wouldn't die of debt. Mark "I figure all hope is lost at this point, right?" Luskus
