robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 (edited) Hey everyone! I have, for the most part, have the forums back up and running. Obviously there are still some cosmetic changes that need to be made and I am working on those now. But everything has been upgraded to the latest and greatest version of the board, which is supposed to be way more secure than the last version (hopefully!) The chat room, calandar, attachments and all the other features of the forums are all operational once again! Thanks for your continued support! --Robb Edited August 26, 2005 by robbalvey
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 YAY!!! Way to go Robb!!! Go TPR, Go TPR, GO!!!!
Justin Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 It seems to have taken you most of the day to fix this. Your a trooper! Go Robb!
robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Also since this is a new version of the board, I need as much help as possible finding bugs, or finding things that don't work quite like they used to. Again, I'm still working on the 'little' things, but the main goal for today was to get the new version of the board installed and all the major components working (chat, calandar, attachments, etc) Thanks for all your help! --Robb

robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Ok here is two for you, I am unable to upload an avitar also i have a pm in my box and cannot read it. Tin"hope you can help"head Ok, I think I have fixed both of those. Let me know if it's working ok! --Robb
AllisonY2K Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 fushia is very becoming for a Board Founder color. the only issue I have right now is the preview and submit buttons are a little hard to see with the yellow text on white button background. (and the add attachment button)
robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 ^ Yeah, those are the cosmetic things I'm working on.
Coasterlicious Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 woop!.. these forums are the coolest.. because the webmasters are the coolest..!! (ok that was cheesey but take it as a compliment )
Angry_Gumball Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 As for cosmetic issues, you would be refering to the somewhat grey boarder around the site as well as the black text boxes and the white buttons (submit, preview) with yellow lettering? Glad to see that the forums are up again.
tinhead Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Ok, I think I have fixed both of those. Let me know if it's working ok! --Robb Yes they work fine now thank you Robb.
SharkTums Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I'd also like to give mad props to Robb! He's worked really hard on all of this and the whole time his only real worry was upsetting all of you who have lost posts. Thank you for dealing with this problem and please continue to post, we are doing our best to try and stop this from happening. We really appreciate everyone's support. The website is becoming more and more of a full time job, and yet we both have stressful full time jobs! Reading all of your posts supporting us really makes it all worth while. end sappiness! die now!
Wes Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I just posted this in AA, but can you possible make the text entry box back to black text on white background instead of yellow text on black background? I can't see the cursor and its killing me!!
USRoadTripper Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Everything seems to be working fine for me, but the old forum would resize itself to whatever resolution size my monitor was using, and this one isn't. I have to scroll side to side to read everything. Not a huge problem, but would be nice if it would automatically resize itself too. Thanks for all the hard work Robb! -Julie (who is back to being neck and neck with Elissa in the avatar contest!)
plugoff2000 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Thank you Robb and Elissa for all you 've done for the forum to bring it online again. Very very Good job. Thnaks again !!!
robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Ok everyone, I think I now have it back to about 90% of what it used to be. Most of the cosmetic changes are now done, so if you notice any more 'little' things, now is the time to post them! Thanks to everyone for your support! --Robb
Coasterlicious Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I cant edit my posts... it says something about Debug mode...
robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Wow, so this is one that's beyond my knowledge of the boards. You get this error when you try to edit a post and I've been looking into it for about 2 hours now, and I can't figure it out. It seems to work fine in the test board I've got set up, and all the information in the db is exactly the same. If anyone here has knowledge of PHPbb and thinks they might know the answer to this one, it would be appreciated! Here's the error that you get: Could not retrieve post edit count information DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1146 Table 'themepar_forum.POSTS_EDIT_TABLE' doesn't exist SELECT * FROM POSTS_EDIT_TABLE WHERE post_id = 47902 AND user_id = 2 Line : 331 File : functions_post.php --Robb
robbalvey Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Ok, I'm not sure what I did, but it looks as though it's fixed. Can you try editing some posts and see if you're still getting the error?
