Photo TR: Media Day Huracan Belantis Germany

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

So today was the media day for Huracan, the new coaster for Belantis in Germany.

This multilooper was built by Gerstlauer in record breaking pace.

This beauty is 32 meters high, has first drop with a 95degree angle (beyond vertical). Top speed of 85 kilometers an hour and a capacity of 800 people an hour.

It turns you up-side-down 5 times and the g-forces go from -1.3G to + 5.5G

The ride will open june 26th for the public and will also feature a "fastpass" solution (limited to one ride per person per day) This is a test, free of charge and if it works as they think it does they will look into upgrading this years manual system to something else next year.

So far for the technical things related to this ride.

The following will be a lot of pictures i took during the event. I got to ride it a couple of times in different seats and yes. I did like it. Actually i really did. It took a little while to sink in and go back through my mind to compare it to some of the other coasters i've been on.. but this one is pretty high on my list.

It actually does pack a punch (or i'm getting old) but i could feel it after a couple of rides. For the rest it flies, it's fun and it has something of everything.

Big drop, airtime and big forces. Lots of quick turns and transitions.

I think the park has a winner with this ride and it's something people (in the area) will enjoy a lot.

Thank you Belantis for having me and i'll be back for another visit (still need to get some laps on the "Gotterflug" )

Wow, this ride really does look good! I think I changed my mind on what park I am going go during my stay in Germany.

Although I can't get past the track color, it's kind of fugly.

I have to agree....Hot ladies always attract people, especially ACErs that can only see them up close like that. But also, the coaster looks great, but the all red color is kind of ugly. Could have done something different with the supports, maybe grey or something, just all blends together too much.

Anyone notice the slew of people wandering around under the ride with no fences for the low zones? Love foreign parks!

If you looked closely at the images you could see some ropes that prevented the folks from entering zones wihich were too dangerous. This was a media day event/opening and we were the only people in that area. The next stept for the park will be to fence of the area and make sure the normal guests will not be able to enter this area.

welcome ladies

Because NOTHING attracts crowds like a bunch of hot ladies in front of a brand new roller coaster!

There was a new roller coaster?

Oh, the big red thing behind the ladies. Got it!

That looks awesome, I for one like the color, It's nice to see a coaster that doesn't look like a circus clown crapped it out. The soccer girls was a nice touch, although if you put them in front of a coaster, I'm sure there are a lot of people on this site who would walk right past them and be drooling over the lift hill.

Germand beer is always good (although i don't drink )

I got to ride some of the other stuff during a previous visit (April 09)

This was just a media event, the park was closed and only this little group had access to the new coaster. Everything else was closed.

But it's a fun place and this ride is a great addition to the place.

Looks like a fun ride, cool station too. My only two concerns is that the capacity will be low with only 3, 6-seater trains and that red paint job is going to be pink within a year or two.

the place is not that big yet and the lines were not bad during opening weekend..

capacity of this ride is better then the other coaster they have at the moment..

Keep in mind that they have more then 3 trains.. if i remember correctly they hada total of 6..
