CoasterCrazy88
Hello all TPR people! Me, my mom, and my brother took a trip down to Scandia to ride the all new Cliff Jumper drop tower. It has only been open for a few days now, and we were curious about it. It turned out to be awesome! It's not big, but it was very intense. It reminded me of a bigger version of the one at Kemah Boardwalk in Texas. I'm assuming it's a Fabbri, but I'm not completely sure. All in all, it's a great addition to the park and everyone should definitely check it out if they are ever in the Ontario area! Of course, we also rode the Screamer many times and played both miniature golf courses. The Screamer was running well, and was full of airtime as usual. The golf courses are still in great condition too. I really do like Scandia. It's a fun little park! Anyway, thanks for reading. Here are the pics! The Scandia Screamer: Tallest, Fastest, and Longest Miler coaster in the world! Airtime! Zoomed in on the first drop. I see you over there Cliff Jumper... Time to ride! Locked in. Up the tower we go, VERY slowly. WOAH! Back on the ground now; we are both very impressed! Time for the bumper boats now. My shoe just got filled with water. Flood! Typical mini golf hole. My mom and Giovanni near one of the fountains. Both courses are very nicely landscaped. Both of them got a "hole in one" on this ant hill. I don't think I will ever be able to do that! I can't get enough of this ride. There's just something fun about it! Light-up signage for the new ride. Come check it out! Now that's a funny one. One last ride! Random shot of the Nordic Spaceship. Goodnight Scandia. See you later!
Jew
That looks like an ARM drop tower.
mwm1444
The mini-golf is awesome - so awesome, in fact, that it beat our group on thw WCT on something like the 12th hole, and we gave up, shamed and exhausted. NIce to know that I've been on the everything-'est Miler 'coaster, that was a weird one.
PKI Jizzman
Yay Texas Trip people! Dude, that tower at Kemah was amazing. I only got one ride, but WOW. I love those suckers. Just like the one at Beech Bend.
CreditCrazy
Cool. I drove by Scandia about a month ago and saw the drop tower just sitting there, wasn't sure if it was open yet. I'll have to go check it out and give Scandia another chance. Edited February 27, 2010 by CreditCrazy
rcdude
Man, I haven't been to Scandia in years. Maybe I should convince my dad to stop there so I can ride the tower and Screamer on the way back from Mammoth on Sunday. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to get there anytime soon, especially since it is about an hour away from my house and isn't really worth driving out to for only two or three hours. RCFreak
I've been driving passed this park a lot lately and I didn't even know this was new! Then again I haven't been to this park since 1996 so theres that. Thanks for the TR.
XII
Awesome Photo TR. I still need to go to Scandia and get the credits there and this new drop tower sounds like a good addition.
ebl
I went to Scandia about 1997 and had a good time there. Honestly, I was impressed with the Scandia Screamer, and got a kick out of the little signs you can see on the structure. The ride reminds me of a giant Hi-Miler. Just a minor note, but it appears that they took one car off of the train; I remember the trains having six cars. Eric
austinlee
I went to Scandia for the first time in Nov, 09. I enjoyed the Screamer very much. It's an air time monster. After I rode it I wished I would have gone to the park sooner. It does only have 5 cars now. It will probably be a while before I ever go back but we did have fun in the two hours we spent there. Nice to hear that the Cliff Jumper is a good ride.
CoasterCrazy88
Thanks for the comments everyone! Yes, Joey, I looked into those ARM towers, and you are right! ^Yeah Austin, the airtime really is good for such a small coaster. It's much more intense than it looks. 99er
I don't know why but Scandia Screamer is one of the most fun coasters I have been on. That thing ranks high for me. I think a lot of it was the fact that you are in a pretty small and very open car. I visited the park for the first time this past November and I loved it. Its a great little park that I will definitely visit the next time I am in the area.
Gigalyte
The Screamer is one fun fast intense coaster it caught me totally off guard, I wasn't expecting it to hit those unbanked turns that fast nor did I expect it to have as much airtime as it did. I think this is the only coaster in all of California to provide massive airtime. Then you have commercial airliners flying right above your head into the ONT airport, the freeway on the side of you, coaster supports trying to decapitate you, your in for sensory overload lol I love the Screamer I thought it was a 6 car train also, but I could totally see them taking off a car to lower the intensity and probably cut down on wear and tear to the trains and structure beacuse Screamer is a beast imo I just noticed in one of the pictures that a little girl is riding alone in the last car, On my second ride my GF opted to sit out and they said I couldn't ride alone in the last car could this by a change in riding policy since the train has one less car now? austinlee
Screamer caught me off guard too. It's not much to look at but is a very fun and intense coaster. I did not expect it to be as great of a ride as it is.
