Ok, I don't want to stir the pot now seeing that I was a member since 2007. I already got banned from a Dorney fan site a few years ago. The admin there doesn't tolerate any crap from members.

Was at the park yesterday for a few hours getting the credits on the coasters before we had to fly home. Nice little park, if a bit plain and generic. I thought Talon was great! loved the colour scheme and the unique layout it had. Hydra was just meh, one of the most dull B&Ms ive ridden. Possessed was really fun, prefferred it to the version at Cedar Point with it having the straight back spike and the holding brake at the top. Steel Force felt extremely dull, especially after marathoning Skyrush the night before! That helix turnaround was fun though. Fair play to Dorney for running three trains on it, even if it was totally unnessasary. On one of my rides there was only three of us in the whole train!

 

The car park was absolutely rammed yet the coasters were all walk ons, did think it was a bit strange how there were no queues whatseoever on a hot Saturday in August. Looking at the waterpark from Talons lift hill it looked absolutely packed in there though.

Rode in the back and somewhere towards the front. Definately enjoyed it more further forward in the train.

On Dorney Park Haunt's instagram they have a picture of wooden framework in the shape of a house, looks like the new haunted house going up by Steel Force. The new haunts are announced next Saturday. It appears that the only new things this year are the new haunted house between Steel Force and the old parking lot on the hill, and the new Bloodshed/Cornstalkers on the old go-kart track. Unless there is some other secret project that we don't know about yet.

Hitting up Dorney next monday for the first time in over 20 years. hercules was still only a few years old last time I went.

 

Had to be like 92 to 94.

 

I"m only like two hours away but just havent gone there, I live 30 min from Great Adventure so I go there alot.

 

Know park isnt great but whatever. I'm assuming the water park will be packed and the few coasters will be empty which is fine for me.

 

Only thing I remember about Dorney was Hercules and the water park used to have those lilly pads you would walk across holding the rope.

 

 

Did ACtion Park, Hershey, Great Adventure and now Dorney this summer. Probably take a trip to Kings Dominion next summer, never been there.

Shockwave is up for sale if you trust the source. Having Dorney as my home park, and riding shockwave this year for the first time, all I can say is "Thank god we aren't getting that piece of scrap"

 

I've heard rumors of Dorney getting a GCI where Dinosaurs Alive is (after the 2016 season, as that's the last year for Dinosaurs Alive IIRC) and a premier rides launched. But other than that I have no idea. I will say I don't think we'll get a GCI in that area, there's Cedarbrook nursing home not very far from the back of the park, and I don't think they'd tolerate a loud woodie in that section.

After the paramount purchase all non paramount parks became an afterthought (except CP) lol

Aww come on now, don't be bashing on Shockwave. It was pretty solid and a lot smoother and less painful than a lot of other coaster's i've ridden. I think it would be a great addition to Dorney.

I think it depends. The Paramount deal was in 2006. Worlds of Fun received Patriot in 07 and Prowler in 09. But nothing since then. I wonder if they just operate in phases by focusing on one park for a few years at a time?

I would feel as if they make some kind of announcement it will be either some flat ride or something with the water park. And of course hopefully some park improvements. I asked one manager if he heard anything and he just kind of smiled at me and said he cant say.
