G$ Kurt
Is WDW still the only park with Phillharmagic? I have not yet seen it myself but have heard good things.
SharkTums
^It's at Hong Kong Disneyland as well.
Sir Clinksalot
I'd LOVE to see Philharmagic at Disneyland, but none of the existing theatres are big enough ... and it doesn't belong in the Magic Eye Theatre anyway. Â Honestly, if they can't get something cool in that spot (meaning NO MILF) I'd much rather them make it the queue for Space Mountain and not use the roof anymore. SharkTums
^I actually have found that MILF has done nothing but get better with each slight revision of the show. Â I'd much rather have MILF in that spot then HISTA or EO!
cfc
^Same. The first time I saw MiLf, my reaction was a shrug. Caught it again a year later, and it was much better. (Robb still owes me a churro, though. Wasn't he supposed to buy the whole audience churros? ).

At first I heard the show was horrible, then I went to see it a year after it debuted and I thought it was a very good show. Not as fantastic as Timekeeper, but on it's own merits it held it's own quite well. I agree too, MILF there instead of HISTA or Eo would be an improvement. BelizeIt
I dropped by the Mouse House today to check out Captain EO.  I enjoyed the show, the film print looked great. The special effects(Flashing lights, wind gusts, shaking the floor) was well done. The audience responded to the performance with claps and cheers.  I'm glad Disney did this, it's still a good story and its enjoyable to watch.
suave1226
Went to Disneyland today saw EO loved it personally. As the person above me said all the effects were well done. I personally don't know why Disneyland isn't advertising this but its not really my concern since I don't run the park. To ALL the nay sayers out there who are knocking the show or saying something else would be better than it come see it and then offer your judgement because I personally think it owns HISTA. And if anyone wonders yes I was a MJ fan but this is a great addition nevertheless.
SharkTums
^I don't think anyone has suggested that it's not as good as HISTA...standing in Tomorrowland and having that stupid water rock ball rolling over you repeatedly would be better than HISTA. Â I think that a lot of people are just saying it's either not as good as they remembered or they miss some of the effects from the original. smells_like_team_disney
^I agree. The fans are simply lamenting about the lost effects. I remember being blown away everytime I saw the starfield as I entered the theatre. And when they had that asteroid (meteor? space rock?) come at you, before you even had a chance to notice, the starfield was gone. For a 10-year old, that is magic! I am a little disappointed they couldn't replicate this effect for the Tribute, but it in no way takes away from the overall experience of the movie itself. I still hope to make it out to California to catch this show once again.
Jew
^They *COULD* have re-created all those effects. They just didn't want to spend the money. They just wanted to get this open as quick as possible to make a quick buck of MJ's death. Hardly a "tribute." Â If touring concerts can create effects like those, pack them up, and have them ready in the next city a few days later...there's no reason Disney couldn't have. The only one that would have taken significant effort was the fog, as the LN2 was removed when the theater was changed for HISTA.

It's most certainly better than Stitch.  If it was going to go to "Disneyland" I would like it to go in the former Millionaire building at DCA, it would go great with the Monsters Inc. ride there as well. And then convert the restaurant to "Harry Hausens" and you could have a mini "Monsters Land" there.
SharkTums
^Eh, I still think they can wedge Rock n Roller coaster in that Millionaire/old restaurant spot!
ECZenith
^^ I like the sound of that as I really liked Monsters Inc. Since a sequel is planned, and DCA loooooves Pixar, I wouldn't be surprised if they received a new Monsters attraction or even its own "sub-land". I don't know any other way they could get away with having that bright facade of the existing dark ride blending in with the 1930's Hollywoodland overlay they plan on putting in. robbalvey
I am ALL FOR any version of Honey, I Bored the Audience to be replaced by Captain EO! nursemelis374
I watched it 3 weeks ago on a Friday around 9 pm and it was about 80% full. I was happy that people still cheered when MJ first came up. Â I am excited it is going to be at TDR. I read today on Screamscape that it is rumored to be opening at DLP on June 25th, which is the day I get there!
BelizeIt
^^Robb Miceage stated that Captain EO has been consistently turning in viewership figures around 15,000-16000 per day. Whereas HISTA averaged around 1500-2500 visitors a day. Â Disney has been very pleased with the strong response, which I would imagine has expedited the opening on additional shows at its other parks. Personally I've seen the show on four separate occasions, and each time the theater has been full, and the crowd cheered and clapped when the show was over. gforce532
From my 3 times, it was only about 75% with no wait just a walk into the preshow area. And that was in the first 2 weeks of it opening on weekdays. More crowded than I have scene Hista since 1998/1999 ish. Â I had never scene EO when I was a kid. It was great to see it, check that off. I looking forward for what disney might have for a replacement in a couple of years.
nursemelis374
^ Yes, I have not had to actually wait for it to start (unless I got there just as the show had started) since the first week. Â I am finding the theater bouncing up and down during the dancing scenes very annoying upon further viewings.
robbalvey
I am finding the theater bouncing up and down during the dancing scenes very annoying upon further viewings. This is actually the #1 reason why I have not, and probably will not end up seeing it at Disneyland. I have some pretty decent memories of the show from when I worked at the park, and actually saw it quite a few times (even wound up having a shift handing out glasses for a couple of hours one day), and I really think the whole bouncing thing will kind of ruin some memories for me. Â I'm waiting to hear if any of the other versions of the movie do this as well or if some of them may try to implement the old effects. I can totally see Tokyo Disney bring it back in it's 100% correct form! If they do, that's the one I'll go see. Â --Robb

It literally does it for the entire second half of the show, which got really annoying.  Matt "I missed the lasers" Jacobs
jray21
It was ok to have the theater move for the crash landing, but it was way too much the rest of the time. Knowing how much Japan loved, and still loves, Michael Jackson, that show will be so packed. I also agree that if anyone will bring it back to the original, it will be Japan.
