SharkTums Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 So I was invited to take an online survey about kids attractions, you know, since I actually have a kid and stuff! It was actually quite interesting and there were even two references to Yo Gabba Gabba. Based on follow up questions I get the feeling that nothing is actually planned with the Yo Gabba Gabba license (seems like they were pushing the Universal, Nickelodeon and Sesame Brands) but at least it was mentioned and hopefully someone out there realizes the gold mine out there for Gabba related rides, shows, and attractions! As far as the Sesame thing goes, can they get that license now that they also kind of own the Busch Parks!? Could be really interesting for kids in the coming years!
CoasterDude211 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Very interesting. Yo Gabba Gabba would fit in perfectly at Universal because they are both cool for kids and adults! I've taken a few UO HHN surveys in the past, and many of the event themes actually came true. The survey following HHN 17 mentioned the possibility of urban legends and Saw themes, which both happened. We can only hope...
Hercules Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I noticed that too. I poked around a little on the survey and noticed Yo Gabba Gabba was mentioned. I think Yo Gabba Gabba would be a great fit for the park!
jarmor Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 add me to the "yo gabba gabba is good for kids under 5 but not interesting for a say, 8 year old" group. I know it may seem "trendy" to like the show but honestly there really isnt much to base a land/attraction off of...in my opinion
Jew Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 ^Playhouse Disney only appeals to a certain age group too. Doesn't stop them from filling up the theater show after show! Parks need something for everyone. I think Yo Gabba Gabba would be great for little kids and dorky adults!
robbalvey Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 add me to the "yo gabba gabba is good for kids under 5 but not interesting for a say, 8 year old" group. there really isnt much to base a land/attraction off of...in my opinion. Wiggles World. Playhouse Disney. Thomas the Tank Engine. Sesame Street. Bob The Builder. Dora the Explorer. Spongebob Sqaurepants. All shows targeted to younger, toddler age kids which have all been turned into successful attractions, themed areas, or even entire parks.
KrakenKing Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I know nothing of "Yo Gabba Gabba", but at least the idea would be original, and could make for some interesting new rides. Personally though, I think I've had my share of Sesame and Nickelodeon themed spaces.
SharkTums Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 ^^ I guarantee you that parents of toddlers/preschool age are also SPENDING a crapload more on park merchandise, photos, in park character meals, and exclusive stuff based on all of these 'kids' shows, then teenagers or other age groups. What's wrong with catering to the Under 5 age group?
carolinacaniac Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Wonder if that would include a food stand called "Snack Time"?
jray21 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I would definitely be one of those idiot adults who would buy a bunch of their crap. That would be so cool if they came to one of the parks.
Imhotep Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I really hope Universal does something with Yo Gabba Gabba, and soon before my daughter grows out of liking the show! Uni should put the Yo Gabba Gabba Live! show in the Toon Lagoon theatre for a few weeks.
